Is it just me, or do announcements about player positional changes usually come out around this time of year?

Yeah maybe in a couple more weeks I reckon, they will probably leak a few DPP positions, players with positional changes that are relevant etc. Do they also reveal like the top 10 prices and stuff like that at some stage?? I vaguely remember them doing it last year.

SC gold subscibers in the past have had access to SC around the middle of December in the past. I would imaging that as time gets closer to that access, information will be released. I would imagine that if SC Gold subscibers have acccess (for example) on 20th December, then information on prices etc. will be realeased around that time.

I think Oz, posted at some stage, that there may also be a delay in the sending of the 2015 AFL Prospectus, (which is normally available for sending of pre-orders around the same time (mid to late December). I guess if the CD delay the release of the prospectus , this may also have some impact on the release of positional and pricing information..

Edit: CD will be releasing pre-orders of the 2015 Prospectus in January 2015 (later than normal), according to the CD prospectus site.

Dayle Garlett, former Hawthorn player, admits turning to crime to feed meth addiction

"WHILE his former Hawthorn teammates were celebrating this year’s AFL premiership, Dayle Garlett was in jail.

On Tuesday it was revealed why.

The 20-year-old from Western Australia — who is one of the most talented footballers his age in the country — committed several burglaries to feed a meth addiction he developed while trying to kickstart an AFL career in Melbourne.

Handed a lifeline by the Hawks after being overlooked in the 2012 draft, Garlett resorted to a life of crime after deciding he couldn’t meet the demands of AFL football in March.

In May, when a position he could have filled in the Hawthorn side opened up because of an injury to Cyril Rioli, Garlett bought iPads and jewellery for $350 despite knowing they were stolen.

In July, when the Hawks moved to the top of the AFL ladder with wins against Sydney and the Western Bulldogs, he broke into a friend’s house and stole a purse and phone belonging to a cleaner.

Then in September, as Luke Hodge led his team to its third premiership since 2008, Garlett broke into another house, stealing laptops, iPads, a phone and clothes worth more than $4500.

After being arrested and spending two months behind bars, Garlett avoided further jail time when his charges were heard in the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty to two stealing charges and others of aggravated burglary, breach of bail, burglary, committing an offence in a dwelling and receiving stolen goods.

He was fined almost $500, ordered to pay compensation of $4859, perform 60 hours of community service and given a 12-month strict supervision order.

After his pleas were entered, Perth magistrate Paul Heany told the court Garlett had revealed to a psychiatrist he developed an addiction to methylamphetamine during his six-month stay with Hawthorn and turned to crime to feed it."

Sigh...

I'm sure many of us know people who self destructed in various ways.

Let's hope he can find a way to turn his life around.

Crying shame for one supposedly as talented as him. Had all the warning signs in retrospect. Another talent wasted, good luck to the lad.

Real shame, if he had of knuckled down and stayed in the AFL system he would have been able too buy heaps of meth.

Great to see Mitch following in the footsteps of the last Carlton choir boy to move to the Lions in Brendan Fevola by also taking up the Lions Number 5 jumper.

Thanks for the numbers update Goodie. As for Robinson, i'm rapt we got him for nothing as he continues to deepen our midfield. I don't think he's quite the case Fev was and he'll hopefully see the opportunity at Bris as a lifeline. i think he'll go alright!

Who are Beams, Christensen, Rich and Robinson going to replace in your midfield? When you add in Aish, Redden, Rockliff and Taylor it seems Zorko will be a permanent forward.

I reckon they should try and make Robinson a tagger. He'd be a pain to play on and he's more than tough enough to cop extra physical contact by players trying to free up their star mid. I think he'd actually like the extra attention. I suspect he'll largely be a defensive forward like he was in his best game of the season against Hawthorn.
