I would like to see Jason Bennett be given a large role in the absence of Bruce, but unfortunately he didn't play 200+ games, nor did he win a best and fairest or multiple All-Australian selections and therefore cannot entertain us with his stories or highlights from yesteryear to try to one-up the other broadcast members in a battle of egos. Not the slightest bit interesting but they have to pander to their key demographic who are all too easily entertained by the inane drivel.

Tim Lane is another who would be a great addition and has recently been a key member of the Channel 7 broadcasting team for the cricket. A relief that Basil is currently busy with other duties and cannot make a return.

Well this is the best news I've heard this year! ****ing you beauty. Footy just became considerably more watchable!

Good riddance to the worst of them all.

Now if he'd just take BT, Derm, Ling, Darcy, Watson, Hamish, Matthews, Carey and more than a few others with him! Oh and give us back Dennis who he drove into retirement with his banality, obnoxiousness and incompetence!
I miss Drew Morphett, he just called the footy when he used to host the winners on ABC!

BT is a tool who thinks he's funny but is definitely unfunny.

Bruce resorted to commentary 'by asking questions' and I couldn't handle it once I noticed it. Dwayne Russell is also as bad - he just says player names rather than actually calling the game.
If you have a drink every time BT mentions 'Calder Cannons Football Factory' during the call, you don't make 3/4 time as you will have passed out!

WILLIE Rioli’s drug nightmare is over.

It can be revealed Rioli will return to West Coast and the AFL this year after a decision was finally made on his future.

The Eagles forward will this afternoon be formally handed a two-year suspension after producing an adverse analytical finding for urine substitution on August 20, 2019. The ban is backdated.

The decision comes as an enormous relief for Rioli, who was facing a maximum four-year ban for tampering with a urine sample.

ASADA has the right to appeal the decision, but it’s understood it has decided against doing so, freeing Rioli to return to the game.

Rioli, 25, will be eligible to play some time in August, but will be permitted to return to Eagles training in the middle of this year.

Rioli last December was finally able to have his case heard by an AFL anti-doping tribunal, with his father Willie Rioli Sr saying his son received a “fair hearing”.

Rioli has been represented by David Grace, QC, who acted on behalf of 32 of the 34 Essendon players in the supplements saga.

The delay in the Rioli case has been the subject of widespread criticism, with West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett revealing the club would ask the AFL to consider stepping away from the World Anti-Doping Code to enhance efficiency.

One thing that is concerning me is that most of my players are from bottom 8 teams and I have only 3 players in total from Rich/Bris/Geel/Port.

I wouldn't be overly concerned. Being from bottom 8 teams is typically a good thing for non-premiums, and some very successful teams don't tend to have a lot of elite SC scorers (eg Richmond recently, Hawthorn previously).

In a prior iteration I had a whole bye round where I only had one premo. I only have five players overall from the sides you mentioned.

I hate the AFL website. Used to paste and copy all the stats. Now it only lets you look at 10 things at a time. Any tips? I'm getting the CBA's posted on here. I like things like TOG%, one percenters and tackles for rookies. They aren't listing pressure acts for the preseason games.

I believe God sacrifices a kitten in a terrible manner every time someone looks at that abomination of a website, so I avoid it as much as I can because I like kittens and, also, my eyes/sanity.
