Hey guys, quick question re: draft points.

Hypothetically, Daicos gets bid on at #2.
Pies have picks 36, 38, 40 etc

Do the draft points all get calculated in one go, or is it 'compounded'
eg 36 gets used up, 38 and 40 both move down a spot to 37/39?

I'm almost certain it's all in one, but am not 100%

Good question. Please don’t take this as definitive, but from calculations I’ve seen elsewhere I think it’s the former.

Equally there is a nuance to it that I don’t fully understand, so it’s possible it’s the latter.

Appreciate this isn’t very helpful, but that’s my sense!

I'm fairly certain it would be all at once, as it's kind of like a single transaction.
Otherwise, hypothetically, if a club had 3 consecutive picks, they would all be worth the same amount of points if it were compounded.

At the end of the 'transaction' all adjustments would be made I guess to the remaining picks in the draft.

I didn't remember Jacko having such a good record until I looked it up - 308 goals from 82 games, only going goalless once. He's probably more remembered for getting reported 4 times in one match against the Hawks or his post career ads/music etc.
His interview with Mike Sheahan is worth a watch if you get the opportunity. He seemed both talented and to have applied himself to learn the skills he was exposed to by his early teammates, but he was also repeatedly on the outer with his teammates, leading to his career being cut short.

If you didn't watch the Teofimo Lopez v George Kambosos Jr fight live, find a replay. It is genuinely one of the best fights of the last decade, with the bonus of an Aussie win.

Gatti v Ward in 2021.

Think Aurturo Gatti for George Kambosos Jr, which is a close comparison. Lopez is a class or two above Micky Ward, however the fight was up there, if not above, the trilogy fights.
