Good suggestion but the feeds not great for me. My laptops not strong enough I think. But I had no idea the VFL had become such a dogs breakfast. 21 teams!
My issue with so many clubs is how long do you wait for a premiership? Same as the AFL. The draft and the salary cap are supposed to give clubs a window of opportunity. Even if there was a perfectly even cycle for all clubs you win one flag every 18 years. A club winning two in a cycle means someone else is missing out. Does that mean every 36 years? A club wins 3 in a cycle like Richmond have done or two teams win two in a cycle now means a 54 year wait. I'm not suggesting the AFL should guarantee success but the window gets smaller and the opportunities get less with every team added to the comp.
It's interesting that Southport is in the VFL, when they got knocked back for an AFL license, but no Tassie team.
So I have read about this deal and one thing confuses me (not hard at the moment). When the new deal starts, WA (that's me) and SA viewers will now have 12 games on 2 hour delayed FTA telecast. Up from three each now. However, from what I have read ALL matches will be available live on 7plus. I am wary of the use of the word LIVE by 7 as they advertise the current delayed games as AFL live when clearly it is not. If the games are available on 7plus live then they are asking viewers to stop watching 7 TV and move to the internet. And that is no help to Foxtel. Can only assume the ad revenue is not impacted as we will get ads on 7plus just like TV. Is it a drive to get more volume via the website in the hope people then use it for other stuff? And on a SC fantasy note more Thursday games is a pain re selection issues.
