So…… wrap your head around this, it's going to be the “King's Birthday Game” in the AFL next year!
Unless.........and hear me out........................there is a Targaryen sailing across the sea from a hidden isle with a dragon that has been waiting just for this moment.:cool:

Is the public holiday still going to be early June? Charles was born in November. I know the Queen's actual birthday was in April, so who knows.

This needs its own thread. the allegations in that article are almost unbelievable really, especially considering the events are within the last 10 years.
Well Hawthorn fans, welcome to all you’re going to be hearing about for at least the next 5 years.

Yours Sincerely, Crows and Essendon fans that have been living with stories about a certain “Camp” and a very public injections regime for just a little while now.

Looks like Alastair might be out of a job too! https://www.afl.com.au/news/847720/...dy3n9CZOFnPQnTemIuIsLnTsGFA2oJ8RXCcF8fESOB9_Y

I don't know how much of it if any is true or not but it's sad that this particular scandal type of thing had to come out in the week of the grand final. Makes you wonder about the motives of the people who decided to make this an issue now at this particular time...and what they stand to gain from it.
This seems to me to be something that should be dealt with behind closed doors, of the AFL or a Courtroom, at some other time, but not in Grand Final week.

Not sure it's quite that simple.

We know the report was commissioned after the Cyril Rioli stuff came out, that was back in April.
The reporters have obviously taken time to collect these stories, and hopefully provide support to all the people they interviewed.
Hawthorn's statement says it found their current practices are sound - I guess we'll see about the veracity of that claim but the implication is that they've spent some time around the club to assess that for themselves. A further implication of that is they would also be providing recommendations to the board for further improvements.

That isn't the work of a moment. Hawthorn say they were provided with the report two weeks ago, the AFL last week. If the ABC knew about this - and presumably they have had a couple of days at least to put the story together - and chose not to publish until after the Grand Final, they would be accused of kowtowing to the AFL, with some justification.

I hardly think it's a conspiracy of any sort, just unfortunate timing.
