Looks like Tania Hird has made some pretty strong statements about Demetriou knowing Hird was getting paid.

Demetriou is looking more and more like a goose.

The Hird's have fully admitted James is being paid by Essendon while suspended. Nothing to hide.

For a club who would want all this to stop, surely they wouldn't breach the pay agreement if it existed.

I bet all his other sanctions have been documented. Why not the suspension without pay bit? If the guy is on $1million per year, I'd say that's a fairly significant sanction that ought to be documented.

Maybe the dog ate it?

Or maybe the AFL's own processes and protocols are as shabby as Essendon's were? Who is ultimately responsible for that?

Can't fault Essendon in this.

Agreed hammo, doesn't quite add up does it. I do my best not to let my bias cloud my judgement but something is definitely off here. I'm not sure how seriously Hird will be taken though as she obviously has an agenda but it definitely read true to me.

That's the one I'd say. Hard to gauge when it's the coach's wife but after reading that I actually believe her. Could be just my love for the club and Hird himself though....:)
I'm a Melbourne supporter, and I believe her.
AD has just been too big for his boots for a long time now, and sometimes acts like he owns the AFL, rather than being an employee. He knows best, and what he says goes..... unless he changes his mind. We need new admin in that realises they are in a priviliged position of guardianship and leadership, not dicatating and brow beating.

Completely agree. I think he has done a great job over the years, but now I think he's running around throwing mud in the hope his empire doesn't come crumbling down.

Unfortunately I think the Herald Sun and The Age have caught a whif of something stinky at AFL house, and they wont stop still they find mud that sticks and stinks to high heaven. Unfortunately that means more pain and frustration for bomber fans and footy followers in general, as this could drag on and on and on . . .

Hawthorn, GWS, Melbourne and North Melbourne are the four clubs who according to our 2014 SuperCoach Projected prices do NOT have a player whose value is $500,000 or above next season.
The magic number must be lowered because I find it hard to believe Sam Mitchell, or even Goldstein aren't priced over $500K. Surely???

Then again with no real sources to the info, and very little leaks we can't read too much into this sort of stuff I guess until it officially comes out.

Mitchell will probably be just under $500k at around $498k. But Goldy is the one that doesn't make sense, he should be around $538k I would've thought. I wonder if North was included in that list by mistake.

Goldie was an error. Hawks, GWS and melb are the only teams with no one over $500k

Was going to say, coz that just seemed weird that one of the top 2 RUC wasn't going to be over $500K.
I was jumping out of my skin when I heard it, but so were 400,000 others. I was also pretty excited to be looking at thompson, boomer, swallow (when fit), NDS at those prices as a north supporter
