Like everything in SC it's all about how you spend that extra cash. Say you Kelly averages 90ppg next and someone like Jansen (just an example as he's the only later rd mid draft pick I know) averages 80ppg and both play the first 8-10 rds (until upgrade time basically). By picking Jansen you'll save about 80k, which you can spend in another position. If you spend it well you can get a player who averages 5-15 points more in that position and ends the season as a premium who needs no upgrading (saving a trade even if you may lose a few points. Alternatively the cheaper player may not play every week and only averages say 70 and in this case you'd be better off with Kelly. Also if you don't spend the money well and get someone who provides the same or less output than your original pick then you're better off with Kelly. The important thing is to pick the best rookies in respect to the rest of your team.
In addition to that, there's a hefty difference in break evens between your 100k rookie vs your 180k rookie.

I think Wines/Vlaustin are clear wins for those that spent the dough but for every Wines/V, there was a Toumpas or Mayes(??).

Doggies slapped with 10k fine by ASADA for not notifying them of their whereabouts. Ouch!

Bulldogs fined over ASADA error

THE WESTERN Bulldogs have been fined $10,000 for failing to notify the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority of their players' whereabouts.

The Bulldogs failed to notify ASADA that 12 of their players would be part of a training camp in the USA between November 5-19.

Under the requirements of the anti-doping code, all clubs in the AFL are required to keep ASADA notified at all times of the location of listed players, for testing purposes.

Griffen named skipper

AFL players may be tested 365 days of the year for banned performance-enhancing drugs.

AFL general counsel Andrew Dillon said the Western Bulldogs had notified the AFL in advance of their decision to conduct an overseas training camp, but not ASADA.

"The club has a strong history of compliance with all the paperwork requirements of the anti-doping code to ensure that ASADA is fully informed at all times and can perform its duties," Dillon said.

Boyd still buoyant despite stepping down

"In this instance, while the AFL had been notified of the club's activities, ASADA was not separately notified. While this was an administrative error, it is important that the rules are fully complied with."

Bulldogs football manager Graham Lowe was understanding of the sanction.

"While we acknowledge this as an isolated administrative error, we are fully aware of the importance of reporting requirements and accept the sanction handed to us by the AFL," Lowe said.

"The matter has been reviewed internally, and we have reinforced internal processes to ensure future administrative oversights are avoided."

Half the sanction has been suspended until December 31, 2015 on the basis of the club's continued co-operation.

As I am playing the bigbash fantasy game, and I was just reading up on the rules and it seems that they are going with max two trades every round.

Being the same provider as SC, could we assume that that is way SC will be heading in 2014?

Possibly, but they are two different sports, so the Rules could still be different. :)

Of course, But being a product of VS and with dreamteam heading that way, I think we can almost start planning for the game to be that way inclined

Does anybody know when supercoach gold users will be able to create their teams?

The Big Bash allowed 2 trades after each lockout last season as well so I'm not sure I would be reading too much into that but I can see where you are coming from.

I think there is a strong possibility we will anyway. Would turn everything we know on its head though. Strategy would change drastically!

All the dogs fans are going crazy with the fine on Facebook but I'm happy with it. The rules are simple to follow, follow them and nothing will happen. It's not over the top, I'm more concerned about the lack of professionalism in our office vs "being picked on"

Normally, SuperCoach Gold is released about a week before Christmas so it's about right.

I was hoping to have more time to work on the team planner for those without SuperCoach Gold.

Lol pretty much. I really wanted to start Selwood too but can give up on that idea now. Luckily for us Danger is DPP otherwise we would've been in a real tight spot. Add Swan, Cotchin, Lids and we're practically tearing our hair out.
