Thank you for the donut MRP and thank you for ruining our great game with that decision.
RIP the tackle in the AFL.
Seriously considering choosing another sport to follow and I hate West Coast.

Given the most popular rucks are currently (in order) Gawn, English, Naitanui, Cameron and Olango, I think a lot of people will be a bit bothered if Beveridge chooses this week to give English a spell.

Very likely as English should have been given a rest last week. As a Lycett and Mason Cox owner I’d spare Gawn the flight to Brisbane also.

I agree

the tackle and bump will be gone soon , be touch football.

sadly the game has very much changed to what it was , vastly different to what I grew up watching and loving in the 80's and 90's.

congestion and the inability to umpire the rules properly eg a player must dispose of the ball correctly (handball or kick) is destroying the game.

thank god we have SC to maintain interest

Hope the players have been practicing their maths. Nic Nat's got himself a weekend to brush up!

Hmm ... so Caleb Daniel treating Aaron Sandilands differently to the way Aaron Sandilands can treat Caleb Daniel is not just permitted, but encouraged?

So all players should be the same height and weight for tackles to be deemed fair contest , or do we ask the opponent before you tackle him if it is ok to tackle him in a way that suits him ,
or do we have 18 teams full of clones .

Well how about we just make all players wear helmets and body armour that will fix the problem

What a disappointing statement to hear from the powers that be. Players are publicly shamed for their lack of intent and now they’re saying you can only go hard at players that you think can handle it. I don’t understand what they’re trying to achieve in this. Surely their intent is not to handicap physically superior players?

What a world we live in, welcome to the future everyone.

How about we don't keep score and give everyone a participation trophy at the end of the game.

The game is being ruined by the suits who apparently have a duty of care to maintain its essence.

My 86 yo mum now enjoys watching AFL because it is not so rough! Can't please everyone.
Isn't the AFL just trying to look after the health of players, during their playing careers and long after playing the game?
Or is it just trying to avoid future court cases, hmmm?

Perhaps NicNat should've just picked Amon up and clean and jerked him a couple times, then gently put him back on the turf.

what about if we make it 11 aside

the first half can be for the players that weigh 90 kg + and then the second half for the players under 90 kg.

or before a player wishes to apply a tackle they need to say how much force they are going to use.

I can remember from year 12 physics that F=MA (force equals mass x acceleration) so that shouldn't be too hard to work out in a split second
