Is Ben Brown likely to play this week or next?
Might end up trading Joey to Ben Brown if he gets a geurnsey with the Demons. Demons should be able to get him a good 5/6 shots per game on goal and Benny can avg 80+ for a couple weeks and get to 400K That would be a cash gen and points win over the rookies we have had this year. If he starts this round should be right for an upgrade on his bye round 14.

It's probably more the profile of those getting injured, stars of the game, rather than the sheer rate that has people wondering. I can't remember a fantasy season quite this bad where so many fantasy relevant players have gone done this early. Danger, Neale, Dunkley, Butters, Dusty, Ridley, Rowell, Heeney, Hurn, L.Ryan, Yeo, Sloane, Rayner, Adams, De Goey, Hickey, Howe, Caldwell, Draper, Young, Witts, Cogs, Buddy, McDonald, L.Jones.

So it's quite possible to have burned through 4 or 5 trades on dealing with injuries alone. Whether it be trading out the players affected directly for LTIs or eliminating bench donuts to cover them for the shorter term injuries. Hopefully things do drop off or most coaches won't be able to finish their sides as they'd hoped. I'm already considering value options like Brayshaw, May, Heeney etc as keeper trade-in targets that in other years I'd probably avoid.

With trades getting diverted towards injuries and many rookies struggling to make $100K things are looking a little bleak right now.
Even that list isn't that exceptional. I mean Dusty, Ridley and De Goey probably wouldn't have missed in past years and are a result of the rule change on concussions.

Of that list Dunkley, Rowell, Heeney, Shuey, Yeo, Sloane, Howe, Caldwell, Draper, Young, Cogs and Buddy all missed games last year, many with the same or very similar injuries.

A couple of the guys like Hurn and Adams missed games in 2019 as well.

Last year also had Josh Kennedy x2, Taranto, Kelly, Fyfe, Selwood, Duncan, Pendles, Docherty, Sidebottom, Cunnington, Houston and several others all with injuries as well.

Honestly it doesn't feel that exceptional to me to be honest, I mean looking at last year in round 6 you had Zorko, Milera, Newman, De Goey, Beams, Howe, Sidebottom, Daniher, Draper, Heppell, Stringer, Cox, Fyfe, Pearce, Hamling, Hogan, Logue, Stanley, T. Stewart, Rowell, Taranto, Ward, Z. Williams, Impey, Jiath, Scrimshaw, Breust, Cunnington, LDU, Higgins, Thomas, Larkey, Ziebell, Burton, Duursma, Drew, Cotchin, Edwards, Houli, Lynch, Nankervis, Prestia, Hannebery, Jones, Franklin, McCartin, Naismith, Reid, Sinclair, Hutchings, Shuey, Dunkley and B.Smith all on the injury list who you could argue were at least very close to best 22 guys, many fantasy relevant.

I really like your detail info that you provide!

I see a song there to the tune of "I've been everywhere" :)

PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Travis Boak has been ruled out of the club’s meeting with Brisbane on Saturday night.

Boak has been managing a minor quad injury for the past couple of weeks and won’t make the trip to Queensland.

The 32-year-old is expected to be available for next week’s Showdown at Adelaide Oval against the Crows.

Damn it, my draft team is a bit of a mess, he was one of my few decent players. One less player to consider bringing into my SC team I guess.

Assuming DeGoeys back this week, he will be between $260-$290k in 2 weeks time. If he plays even half decent over those two weeks he will represent outstanding value having dropped almost $150k. Who better to trade in to my $2 Shop forward line.
I get criticised for mentioning Heeney , hate to see what sort of reaction you get to d
De Goey , his durability history would be 10 times worse , aside the fact he has never averaged 90+ in his career 😀

Will be cheap though as you pointed out

I was looking at Heppell instead of Brayshaw only last night.

Round 8 May

Houston might drop enough as well.

started Martin & Zorko so don't get their price drops

see how Marshall goes with Ryder back

Brown , de Goey , even Rozee

crazy times ahead

He's a good player Dyson Heppell...............and if injury is behind him he's a great priced gamble..................he looks a bit like a 'Ziebell/Impey' type to me......................and if they push him back like I think they might.........................well ??

I'm getting in late on Tommy Powell too I know but his js looks good...............I like the way he goes too and that's important...........and flicking Dunks & Clarkey for them puts a nice little $240K plus in the kitty for next trades.

You can only stuff up Herb.........................or we could be lucky. They say you can't be unlucky all the time............................hope it's this week lol

Pick em' good mate.........................

Bye rounds 12, 13 & 14 aren't far off and some pre-planning now is a must !!

Remember, you only get 3x trades prior to each of these rounds - and scores counted each round are best 18x only.

Rd 12 teams missing are: Geelong, Hawks, Port, Nth Melb, GCS & GWS

Rd 13 teams missing are: Ess, Rich, WBulls, Bris, WCoast & Carlton

Rd 14 teams missing are: Adel, Swans, Melb, StK, Freo & Collingwood.

Don't be caught out.....................trading now with the above in mind just might shoot you up the ladder like you couldn't believe !!

Not sure I have the constitution to survive contaminating my side with De Goey aka 'Kmart Dusty', even < $300K. The real Dusty is driving me nuts as an owner so not that keen to double down on the Kmart version, especially given the state of the Pies atm.

I'm all for bargain shopping but even Team Quasimodo has its basic standards. So I think I'll sit that one out. :p

I think he’s more a Kmart Dustbin than a Dusty Quasi! But I can see him as a handy F6/7

Good to see the Ziegull was nowhere to be seen here. We need all hands on deck in the FWD line this week with Dusty and Dunks down. Then again Lachlan Jones wasn't on the injury list this time last week either... o_O
Yep, Ziebell not on the injury list which is good for this weeks forward lines.
I don't think leather poisoning qualifies as illness or an injury.
