Not sure what to make of that statement...not sure whether I need to consult with the Mods on whether this goes against the spirit of this site. ;)

You're right John that we do share some common interests, and just noticed that you and I joined SCS in the same week...but I hold seniority over you...just! :p
Hahaha, just realised I wrote that.

"I actually wrote live and work (maybe with you Ben)" as In "hook me up with a job, lol", but added the family thing without thinking. Fixed I think. But had to make an editing note because that was too funny.

Sentiment stands though, Ben seems like a top bloke and we can be mates.

I don't have as many awesome life achievements so mine will be a tad more brief.

My name is John, I'm 26 years old, and I work in good old oil and gas. I graduated as a Chemical Engineer, then spent about 4 years doing risk engineering work (hence the over the top risk analysis on players), before moving into our business development team.

I spent all of my childhood playing basketball, volleyball, and sports games as a manager, as well as supporting the Mighty Pies, which ultimately lead to my love for SuperCoach and Pendles. After hitting 6'3 at 12 years old, I was seen as a prodigy (lol) and got some big chances to make a career of sport, but as lucky would have it I was still 6'3 come 18, and I quickly moved into the field of armchair sports.

I'm lucky that I never grew taller, because I met my fiancée and love of my life through uni. We've just bought an apartment in Prahran and I couldn't be happier. I have 2 cats instead of 2 kids, but the cats are enough for the time being. I my weekends drinking coffee and researching SuperCoach (or NBA), and a lot of time in Geelong and Barwon Heads visiting family, and would love to one day live, raise a family, and work down in Geelong (maybe with you Ben).

This site helped me combine my love of statistical analysis and fantasy sports, and since I found the site I've rocked into contention. I'm hoping I there abouts again in 2016 and in the hunt for the 50k.

Nice to meet you all, and I hope to make the next SCS catch up.
Just literally lolled when I read your reason for the edit. Hahahaha.

G'day everyone,

After a couple of years trawling this forum, maybe it's time I start to contribute!

My name is Adam. I am 33, grew up in VIC (Ballarat/Melbourne) and currently live in Adelaide. I have a beautiful wife (a Port supporter to whom I promise each year "This will be my last year of Supercoach") and a newborn son. I am a passionate Dees supporter, and will be doing my best to stave off the in-laws who are trying to convert my little fella into a Port supporter. Wish me luck!

The life journey to-date has been an awesome one really - including study and an early career in hospitality, a Masters and a stint International Development, and now Education. One of my greatest passions is working with young people, and I'm also pretty fired up about social justice and a fair go for all. Footy is one of the things that helps me escape from a lot of the ****ty things happening in the world today.

I've spent about 10 years travelling all over the place, living a couple of years in the UK, Eastern Europe and China, as well as decent chunks of time in Kenya and Nepal doing a range of volunteering and Development work with World Vision. I do miss that life, but I must say I have also enjoyed finally "settling down" in my new home of Adelaide - a place I've really come to love.

If I'm not working or following the footy, I'll be listening to music. In fact, it is an obsession. The vinyl collection is slowly building, and my idea of heaven would be sitting in front of my stereo with a cold one and cranking some tunes. I love all kinds of music - particularly rock (classic, prog, alt, metal etc), as well as blues, world, indie heaps of electronic stuff. In a parallel universe I'd fancy myself as a bit of a DJ.

I've been following this site for the past couple of years and love some of the analysis. Especially from guys like Rowsus (thanks mate!). 2016 will be my 5th year of Supercoach, with my best overall finish being 456th. In some ways, the more I seem to learn the worse I get! But hopefully I can crack the top 500 this year once more. I play in and run a couple of cash leagues too (msg me for details), so I tend to play more for those than overall. I also change my team name each year (not the norm I know) - usually something associated with the mighty Red & Blue. My newfound love for Jesse Hogan has inspired this year's team name: The Hulkamaniacs. Look out.

Thanks again to all those who contribute to this site and share their wisdom, and all the very best of luck for 2016 and beyond.

Cheers,
Adam

Hey Ben!
Electronic music - I absolutely love electronic music and have done so since I was young with my first ever CD single purchased being Around The World by Daft Punk. The kind of music I like isn't the sort of stuff you would hear on mainstream radio or on MTV. The genres I am most interested in are namely Techno and Progressive House. Not many of you have probably heard of many, if any of these artists but my favourites include Henry Saiz, Richie Hawtin and Robert Babicz.
Guess who did the I'm not worthy worship arms to Robert Babicz while he destroyed the Market Stage on a Monday afternoon at Rainbow Serpent about 5 years ago?

My name is Mikey, I'm a born again hipster who owns and runs a cafe in North Melbourne after being an Account Manager for brands like Kodak and Olympus. I moved in to pharmacy retail operations and at the time I got out of my suits and bought a business I was running 28 pharmacies in VIC/SA and TAS turning over about 100 million bucks. It was heavy and a little less fun than you might imagine. It's nice pushing caffeine.

I moved to Melbourne from Adelaide in 1999 with a work transfer and I love it here. Still love my Crows though.

I'm 45 now and still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. I have a 13 year old daughter and she spends a week with me and a week with her mum. She's very cool and also a massive lovable pain in the butt.

I used to play on electronic music scene forums and meet up people all the time out and about so I'm not adverse to meeting my nerdy internet friends face to face. Loved the little SCS meetup last year! Made some great extra connections with the guys I met. Highly recommend anyone else who can make it go to the next one. We're all great people.

I love Supercoach and thought I was getting better at it until Gazza, Rocky, James Bartel and then my man Rory Sloane ruined last year for me... I still find it painful to reflect upon.

Big fan of this site and the respect and co-operation between the members. It's a credit to everyone.

Also at the end of years award I would like some sort of trophy or one of those cool virtual medals for having the all time greatest signature ever on SCS.

Love,

Mikey

Gday all,

I'm Nick, mid 40s male, currently living in Hong Kong, but been moving about between HK, Singapore and Tokyo over the last 17 years now. I work as a bond trader specialising in Asian corporate bonds hence where I live and i've been wondering lately how and when I'll ever make it home to Aus as the only other job I've ever done was working for the old CES in the public service in Canberra 20+ years ago. So I'm not exactly a multi-skilled person !

Am married with two boys and my Singaporean wife has to accept my love for Aussie Rules (and sports in general) just as I've had to accept her love for various weird (to me) Singaporean/Asian things, but hey that's the beauty of multicultural marriages. To her immense credit she is as probably as knowledgeable about footy as any Singaporean around, having watched many games, been to a final at the G (!) and even knows many of the club songs ! Two interesting facts about Asia that perhaps some of you may know already, 1. there is a thriving expat footy league across the various Asian countries, and many many more than decent players, some even ex SANFL, WAFL and plenty of talented ex country players. 2. There is a fantastic ABC sponsored free to air channel across Asia called Australia Plus, and we get 5 (!!) free and live games of AFL each weekend !! That said, being o***hore I rely heavily on sites like SCS for info, chat and statistical insights. I find this site brilliant and some of the contributors I absolutely take my hat off to for their wisdom, communication and clarity of thought. Best of luck all this year !

I never thought there would be a fellow poster on here that enjoys the music that I enjoy. Babicz would have been immense at Rainbow!

I was lucky enough to see Jeff Mills & Derrick May play with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra last night. Spine tingling stuff.

Respect to you, Mr Young!

I'm Jack and I am in my late 20's. I am a teacher and follow the mighty Dons. I've followed footy for 16 years since I met my stepdad who is a 3rd generation Essendon fan. I live in the outer fringes of Melbourne however I cannot get to games due to tight budgets and workload.

I've been playing Supercoach for close to 6 years and usually rank in the top 30K depending on my interest in the game. Since I learnt about Supercoach keeper leagues, I have been addicted to them due to the nature of every club being different and not having the same players. I've been in one for the last 2 years and currently rebuilding that side so anyone looking for a coach for their keeper league will know I am usually in it for the long haul (depending on the rules)

Amen to that. I remember cracking a few laughs at your jokes last year, and copped a memorable - "don't worry, I'm here all year!" - or words to that effect

Rick Woodxxxx, almost 50, Integrated Solution Design. Pisces and I like long walks in the park... That's my intro line for the majority of my meetings/workshops.

I'm a Senior Business Analyst working in a small government department. If you don't know what a BA is, don't fret, as I don't either......

5th or so year of SC, and coming into my 3rd year here. Thought I knew it all when I won all the work comps in my second and third year. Has been a bit of 2 steps forward, one step backward at times. Last year I thought I'd burn all of my trades before Rd 18. It didn't go too well... but I wasn't alone!

Have moved from a Pearl Jam (greatest band in the world my friends - seeing them TEN times has confirmed that) themed name (FoxyMop) to a car theme. I posed the SSV redline question to Rowan last year I think. A few of us got a kick out of it (good to have some analysis outside of SC!).

Back from a 4 month hiatus, and LET'S GO TIGERS!

Cheers
Rick

Hello again lads,

This my 5th SC season, my 3rd at this wonderful source. I kinda feel the need to re-introduce again, as I use heavily pre-season but i kinda go missing once the season starts, with the occassional dilemna email to the great man Rowsus to help me work through it.

I feel a bit lousy, but was running 4 fantasy teams across diff formats as well as weekly SEN fantasy, i kinda dont have the time to weigh in too often or feel the need.

Having said that, I do enjoy my time early season at this community, the high analytical discussion has taken my understanding to new levels and will be ensuring i get across as much as possible that you lads put up, and contributing where required.

Let the fun begin, GO PIES!!!

Im dropping back this year to just SC and DT as they are both quality formats. AFL fantasy was just too ugly and became a bore i ditched it midway last year.

The real DT that is, more cash, great UI, and is a bit more reliable in terms of scoring from stat based than sc which can as we know give Rioli 130 from 12 touches haha, also not as much competition in overall registered coaches improves the odds

I spent a few weeks holiday on the Gold Coast last year and the afternoon games are always preceded by american rednecks trying to get eaten by gators.

Hi everyone, Im new to the forum, got introduced to this website by my workmate Hayden :) Looks like a really informative site so I think i will be here quite frequently.
Im a 4th year SC player hoping to break out this year and hit the top 100 or better. My highest rank at any stage was just inside the top 1500 at any stage. I have always finished in and around the top 10 percent in the season, won quite a few leagues public and private so hoping to learn alot and accept alot of good advice here, also hope to be able to offer something too :) thanks for having me :)

I should have done this a long time ago eh.

Anyway my forum name is my real name, very lazy and unimaginative huh?

I'm Aaron, nearly 25, live on the Northern End of the Gold Coast and work as a tax accountant from home, which I have done for nearly 18 months

Born at the Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne and lived most of my life from birth in Lilydale, Victoria until the end of 2006, when I moved up to the Coast

My mum is English, been here for over 40 years but still is not an Aussie Citizen.

My whole dad's side of the family are mad Essendon supporters and I guess I got sucked into footy from there.

I love hanging out with my mates, having a drink and a punt, investing in poor choices in the stock market, playing darts, going to the beach and getting up to all sorts of shenanigans.

Love a debate on politics and the machinations of policy decisions. another thing I inherited from my dads side of the family as my great uncle was a Liberal member of the Victorian Parliament in the 70s.

Hey everyone,

My name is John "Smith" (Actually it's Nguyen, but it probably is as common as Smith" and my background is Vietnamese.

I've been SCing since it began but stumbled upon this site 2 years ago and have loved being on it ever since.

I am 32 now and my occupation is testing medication on patients in the cancer field (Clinical Trials). Love my job, but it gets in the way of SCing at times... which I love more!

Massive Hawks man - and i have a big tattoo of a Hawk on my back - a promise I made if we won the 2014 premiership - which we did. Must admit, it has been a pretty good last few years. Big sports fan of really any sport (except Golf... which is not a sport... its a recreational activity).

Don't know what else to write... if i haven't spoken to you on this site before... Hello to you!
