Some good tunes there. Lost In Love is a classic and love Beachball too. Twisted has some catchy lyrics too. “You ain’t sex on legs, you’re dregs on legs, man”.

I remember losing my mind to Amokk when I used to go to the underage nightclubs. Another couple of popular ones from that period are:

Oh yes how did i forget The Launch. Instant Moments is a cracker too. Don't think i've ever known its name but recognised it straight away.

Listening to techno now and Yen is like '*** are you listening to' lol

My favourite band when it comes to entertaining videos is OK GO. Here are a few of my favourites.

Not sure if anyone follows youtube history too closely but this is one of the first clips to go really viral and go huge on the internet/youtube. It pretty much changed the whole video viewing landscape in many ways. Very cool and such a basic idea but visually very effective.

Reminds me of the free hugs song (i call it). I remember stumbling across this years ago and probably still give it a watch every year or so for feelgood vibes etc.

I had trouble deciding my 5th song but the process has bought back some great memories and in hindsight this should have been the easiest choice for me.
I was a lost soul in my 20's and found myself unemployed, feeling sorry for myself and drinking at The Bog in Freo when a Scottish girl invited me to join her group of friends who were all backpackers. I didn't go home for a week (not what you're all thinking though, unfortunately). One of them, a South African guy, said he was going down south to do some fruit picking and it sounded so much better than avoiding my parents at home and lining up for the dole. So a small group of us went down to Manjimup and picked apples for 3 or 4 months and stayed in tents in a cheap caravan park. Half the caravan park were backpackers and it is one of the best times of my life, doing hard labour all day and playing games and music until the park curfew each night. That simple gesture from the Scottish lass changed my life and I haven't lived in Perth since. Having a sheltered upbringing and before the internet was everywhere, they were playing music I hadn't heard on mainstream Perth radio and the band that stuck with me the most was Gomez. I've cheated by having 5a and 5b. The first is my favourite and the second is exactly how I felt at the time.

"Free To Run"

I'm free to run, I walk slowly, along
And everyone, walkin' slowly, along
I walk slowly, along

I've been walkin' far too long
Drag my feet like everyone
Always wanted to run away
But walk slowly, along

I feel, so tired
I want to sit here for a while
I can't see her in your smile
Come sit here, let's hold for a while

I've been walkin' far too long
Drag my feet like everyone
Always wanted to run away
But walk slowly, along

I walk slowly, along
I walk slowly

I'm free to run
I'm free to run
I'm free to run
I'm free to run
I'm free to run
I'm free to run

On the last 3 pages, I counted 43 x Male solo/band's lead singers, 3 x Male/Female combos and nil, zero, zilch, 0 x solo females videos!
He's one for the Females:

One of my all time favourites that I could listen to any day along with Candle in the Wind ....

Off the top of head I think I have about a dozen or so select artists such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Dolly Parton, Oliva Newton John, Cher, Suzi Quatro, Whitney Houston etc before even looking at any girl band fads .... must be more out there surely ...

One I like is Shania Twain but she is very much an acquired taste (will have more to come eventually) ... a sample:

I just had a quick look at my record collection and saw that I don't have many female singers. But I found one LP stashed at the back that I haven't played for a long while, mainly because I really only like one song on that LP, "Total Control" by the Motels, lead singer Martha Emily Davis (she wrote the song).
PS. After buying that LP, I remember always listening to a whole LP in the Record Store before buying another LP :)

We reach the completion of my top 5 personal favourite tracks of all time tonight with a track which was released in 2008.

This track is my ‘Jam’. When I hear the intro it makes me want to get up and dance.

It is produced by an Australian trio and features the wonderful vocals of Ladyhawke.

Although it was released in 2008, it has a real 80’s retro feel to it which I really like.

At number 1 here’s Pnau with ‘Embrace’

Nice! This song was written by Robin Gibb, of the BeeGees.
