Nic Nat VS any other more expensive ruck... Goldy? I just am unsure about nic Nat game time and duribility. What is a good choice to upgrade lycett? He is a bust

Simpson v Sicily + 100k
Who are you trading out to bring these players in?

One thing to remember with Simpson (150SC), it is likely you have missed his highest score for the year. It was his second highest Supercoach score ever from what i could find. This means that if you pegged him for a 95 average (22 games) before the season and this holds true, he will average 92.4 from here. On the reverse, if you had Hibberd pegged for a 95 average (22 games) and this holds true, he will average 96ppg from here. It may not seem like much but it's about 75 points for the season.

I’m trading out Libba. I’m now leaning towards bringing in Tom Mitchell but does the same principle apply to him after his 167? I’m thinking not because he’s a top 5 player and a VC/C option.

I am not Anfa, but yes the same principle would apply.

So if you thought he would equal last years 118.9 average he would score at 111.3 from here on if he played all games.

Just need to look at your pre season assessment and see what he needs to do to average that from the next 22.

Of course you may have reassessed his output from here but surely you would need to see more games to make any significant reassessment.

These are some great points and I'll need to consider.

In answer to your question, I would be looking to upgrade Naughton to Simpson with some spare cash (also helped witha potential trade of Brayshaw to Geelong Fogarty). I already have Hibbo and am planning to keep him.

Your point re Simpson is a good one, but the way I'm looking at it is that he is priced to score about 92 so I wouldnt be overpaying. Further, he should be a top 6 Def and I would be wanting to bring him in at some stage anyway. Finally, if he continues to play the role he did on the weekend, then he should be a good chance to average more than 92 from R2 to the end of the season so still represents some sort of value.

Doing the trade now would be an aggressive move and it might be more acceptable to wait another week to see if anything else changes. Team sheets might influence which way I jump.

Simpsons supercoach career

Year Games Average
2005 15 63.5
2006 22 92.7
2007 22 88.8
2008 22 85.1
2009 22 94.0
2010 22 99.8
2011 22 94.5
2012 19 93.7
2013 22 95.1
2014 22 95.4
2015 20 92.7
2016 22 106.4
2017 22 93.9
2018 1 150.0

I love him and think he is a gun.

His season average would be 94.5 if he averaged 92 from here and played all games.

I think that might be around where he falls.

Doesn't make him a bad choice now but is food for thought if he pumps out another game like last week.

How did you come to 111.3? By my calculations it would be 116.6.

Trading Brayshaw to Fog after one week? Just be careful that isn't too reactive to one weeks score.

Brayshaw looked god over the pre season, hence you picked him I presume. He started really well on the weekend again, but like all his team mates - completely stopped. Might be worth seeing if he can respond in a more even team effort this week.

Looking at using cash plus a Brayshaw downgrade to fund Lycett upgrade to Goldy.

If going a week early would you choose Garlett (opens DPP link) or Fogarty (Geel)?

Other option is to go NicNat this week trading out Naughton for English ... or grab one of English, Garlett, Fogarty this week and wait a week on Lycett upgrade.

Favoring Fogarty for scoring but Garlett and English for structure as even of they get dropped they can serve DPP/FD value. May have all three after next week anyway.

Wouldn't trade out Brayshaw just yet. Would give him another week. I like the Nicnat option if it allows you to keep Brayshaw. Out of those trio, English prob first as it's not everyday you get a playing R/F rookie. Then you also get to see how well Fogarty scores with Danger in the side and also get a 2nd look at Garlett.

Thanks Tam,

Great advise and makes me think I should hold fire a week. Started Lycett to give me time to look at the R2 options and I guess I should hold strategy at least another week Surely Lycett couldn't spud up as bad this week! Last minute call to not start English is my biggest Rd 1 regret so will definitely grab him next week if not this and not confident yet on Fogarty's JS. If only we could do 3 trades next week!

Although plz don't let me stop you from missing out on the rookies you like. If you feel Lycett isn't up to R2 standards then defs trade him out to Nicnat. Any other way you can generate cash without dropping Brayshaw?
