I have a feeling there will be questions on Matthew Jaensch v Matt Suckling this week.

Don't do any analysis on this (unless if others request it), but Jaensch's 2014 has been interesting.

Hi Rowsus

Just wondering what is the most that Jarrad Mcveigh can score this week to drop to $520,400 or lower?

Hi Rowsus,

I have Chris Mayne as a POD fwd (why is everyone laughing?).

Yes he was injured this round, if he plays (or even if he doesn't) should I to quote another thread "Stick Fat" or bite the bullet before he sucks any trade value away.

This week if I spend all my glory box I can trade to Roughy (or any other fwd up to Roughy's price).

Your opinion and others are welcome, don't hesitate to look at my team also although I expect you may have already as we played each other in Div 1 this week.

Hey Rowsus,

A couple of players we both have I would like to get your opinion on:
Tom Mitchell and Josh Caddy

Caddy hasnt really done anything but I would think its best to hold on to him for now?
I thought Mitchell was doing ok but the fact he has been subbed, do you think that will be a regular thing?

Also Cunnington got the job done with 120 on the weekend but im a bit worried that even without Ziebell he still only play 74% TOG.

Hey Rowsus,
Was just wondering what NicNats price and BE will be if he scores a 90 this week.
Would you expect a straight swap from Luey to be doable next week? I've only got 10k and am probably not making any trades this week

Hi Rowsus

Could you please do an analysis on Tom Liberatore. He started slow and hit his straps last week and he has an awesome draw coming up.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Rowsus,

Would love your thoughts on Matthew Jaensch. Am thinking of trading Guthrie for him. Has looked impressive so far this season.

G'day Rowsus, looks like Lobbe isn't working out, reckon the Mumford boat has sailed, thoughts on a sideways trade to NicNat? Didn't like his second half fade out the other night, not sure of his fitness yet but at ~$480k, can almost do a straight swap.
G'day Angry,
I'm not sure I'd be risking NicNat yet on what we've seen so far. When he's on song he averages around 13 disp/game, 1 goal and 25 hitouts. At the moment he is averaging around 11 disp, 0.3 goals and 13 hitouts. He's just not his old self yet, and isn't getting those bullocking possessions below his knees he gets when he is firing. He could get back to that, but you'd want to see it before you traded him in to your team.
There is no doubt Lobbe is worth worrying about, and given his next 3 opponents are Brisbane, WC and Geelong, who are all running tandem Rucks at the moment, he might continue to struggle. Unfortunately the fix isn't easy, particularly if you are strapped for cash. While I have Jacobs, and I'm not 100% confident he is the man, you can swap to him for $18,500. It would be nice to swap to someone you have a bit more confidence can see the season out for you. If you don't have cash, and you don't like Jacobs as you think you'll need to upgrade him too at some stage, you are left with either Hale (if he comes up this week from injury), or going to someone like HMac, who seems to be number 1 at Geelong now, and will at least make you some cash, as well as freeing up some cash at the same time.
Good luck :)

What do I do with Luey? Hasn't set the world on fire against some average rucks. Alarm bells ringing!
The Dawson Simpson/HMac combo is not average. But yeah dump him. West is really biting into his scoring. I'd get NicNat if I were you.
Was thinking more along the line on Nicholas when I said average.
NicNat looks good, but Im thinking I'll wait another week or 2 till he drops more in price and make the swap (stole that from Jock Reynolds but I'm claiming it). Might even make no trades this week! Imagine that!

SC Gold are currently saying NicNats B/E is 99 for this week, but I believe it is more like 119.
By my reckoning, if he scores 90 this week his price should fall to around $466,400 with a B/E going into round 5 of 126. This should still allow you to to straight swap from Leuey to NicNat next week.

I think Leuey is a big risk at the moment, but it really depends on how much cash you have, and what confidence you have in other options. I am assuming you read my response about NicNat a couple of posts above this one. If you don't like the thought of Jacobs ($21.5k less than Leuey) or McEvoy ($13.4k more than Leuey), and you don't have the cash for someone like Mumford, then you need to downgrade to someone like HMac ($128k less than Leuey), and ride him out while he makes a some cash, and gathers some points, while you wait for your preferred option to reduce in price, or your Cash Cows to start mooing. HMac is probably preferable to Hickey right now, and I am assuming you have Sandi, of course.
Good luck. :)

Thanks for the response Rowsus. I am very tempted by HMac, but I haven't seen any Geelong games so don't know how comfortable he looks.
Can anyone tell me if he's looking the goods? If he is I'll make the trade this week

Rowsus, just wondering if you could shed some light or tell me I'm dreamin

It is just me, or do there seem to be more 'massive' player scores over the last three rounds compared to last year?

Perhaps I am forgetful, but 150 used to be huge and you would only see a couple of those a week. This week we have had:
GAJ - 182
Treloar - 176
Mummy - 164
Rocky - 155
Libba - 154
And 9 more players 130+

Round 1 - 130-139 = 8 players
140-149 = 6 players
150-157 = 4 players

Round 2 - 130-139 = 3 players
140-149 = 2 players
150-159 = 3 players
Zorko = 161
Boomer = 169
Pendles = 182

Now if they deserve it, then sure happy for big points to be awarded. But for 18/11/14 players to go 130+ in the last three rounds smells of something has changed in how points are awarded...
Sometimes I think you and I are scarily on the same wavelength. Maybe you should be a little more worried about that than I am
I say that we are thinking alike, as it was only yesterday I thought exactly the same thing, and started an analysis on comparing last year, and the first three rounds this year. I was also wondering if the Ruck scores were a bit higher this season. Here is what I found:

In an given season there are: 22 players x 2 teams x 198 games = 8,712 and SC scores given in the H & A season.
Lets look at the stats as a per every 1,000 scores given.

2013 130+ scores 40.75/1000 scores 2014 130+ scores 36.20/1000 scores.
2013 140+ scores 20.78/1000 scores 2014 140+ scores 21.04/1000 scores.
2013 150+ scores 10.90/1000 scores 2014 150+ scores 12.63/1000 scores.
2013 160+ scores 4.48/1000 scores 2014 160+ scores 5.05/1000 scores.
2013 170+ scores 1.49/1000 scores 2014 170+ scores 2.53/1000 scores.
2013 180+ scores 0.23/1000 scores 2014 180+ scores 1.17/1000 scores.

Some may look at the 170+ and 180+ plus numbers, and think there is more this year, but I am happy that all the numbers are comparable across the board. The 170+ and 180+ results for 2014 are probably skewed by the low game count so far this season.

If we assume there are just as many Rucks on the teams lists this year as last year, this is how the Ruck figures look:
2013 130+ scores 4.48/1000 scores 2014 130+ scores 3.37/1000 scores.
2013 140+ scores 2.18/1000 scores 2014 140+ scores 2.53/1000 scores.
2013 150+ scores 0.80/1000 scores 2014 150+ scores 2.53/1000 scores.
2013 160+ scores 0.23/1000 scores 2014 160+ scores 0.84/1000 scores.
2013 170+ scores 0.11/1000 scores 2014 170+ scores 0.00/1000 scores.
2013 180+ scores 0.00/1000 scores 2014 180+ scores 0.00/1000 scores.

Once again, given how early we are into this season, I am prepared to say the figures are comparable, and my/our fears are unfounded.

I've seen their games, and his tap work has looked better, but he is moving well. His tapwork will improve, we must remember these are the only games for nearly 2 years.

I am dreamin then, and it is just because the players that are getting big scores aren't in my team and I am taking too much notice. Thanks muchly Rowsus :)

As for thinking on the same wavelength, I would be more worried if I was you... ;) :p

He's looking quite good, but not contesting in even 50% of ruck contests I would say.

Is that a problem? Is he getting enough touches around the ground to get high enough scores? Marks and tackles too? Al la Cox?

Hi Rowsus,

What to do with Michael Walters? I've used 4 trades so far too so don't want to burn too many more but ...

There's only so much fail a Coach can take, you know?
He was a risky selection, and there was nothing wrong with that, but when you take a risk you need to be prepared to fix it if it looks like backfiring, and this one looks like backfiring.
SC Gold have his B/E at 122, and expect him to score 79, causing him to drop another $21.9k in price.
RAMP says his B/E is 141, and expects him to score 81, causing him to drop another $26.5k in price.
I think the risk it too great to coninue with him, as if he bombs out another sub 50 score he becomes hard to deal with. If you don't have the cash to upgrade him, I'd consider going down to Jackson Merrett. I know you've missed the first price rise, but he look ok, and he's currently a bit over $100k cheaper than Walters. If you wait a week, it potentially becomes a straight swap!
Good luck :)
