Just wondering if its too early to jump off Lemmens. He still has a relatively low BE but need to get rid of him or Langdon for Cutler or Robertson. I think Cutler is a good chance to be sub and if I downgrade Lemmens it means I can get Hibberd/McVeigh/Hanley in next week for Langdon. Cheers Rowsus
It's a tough one, but if Lemmens keeps scoring as her has been, he actually has less growth left in him than Langdon, so probably Lemmens goes first.
Good luck :)

I don't understand this double downgrade stuff. Get those premiums in asap. You double downgrade this week then you get 3 injuries and your stuck with cash sideways trading.

Looking at my team Rowsus, would it be preferable to have 2 def/mid players in the mid setup (Langdon, Hunt).

Trading out Ellis and Dunstan this week and was wondering how to spend the $660k.

Initial thought was Swan/Cutler but now thinking def prem/cutler.

Interested in your thoughts.

Thanks.
You downgrade now while there are rookies available so you have the cash for upgrades in the next few rounds. Otherwise you are stuck with no cash, riding out rookies who have already peaked and will lose potential cash if you are forced to downgrade them to rookies who have already had a price rise.
Nk29 has explained the logic behind the double downgrade tactic, but I understand it's not for everyone. Especially if you want to be totally agressive in your trading. Maybe Hibberd would suite your team this week? Especially as Swan will give you 5 round 8 bye Mids.
Good luck :)

Rowsus,

One of my friends wants to bring in Cutler into his DEF, and has to choose between getting rid of either:

1. A playing DEF rookie (i.e.: Langdon or McDonald), or
2. A dead DEF rookie (Clurey)

Should he leave the dead rookie on the bench (as trading one of the other two will make him some money), or should he finally get rid of the dead weight?

Before I can answer properly, you do seem to have an awful lot of round 8 bye players already. Are you planning to tank round 8, in order to complete your team a little quicker?
If the answer is yes, I'd go M Thomas/Ellis to Swan/Lloyd. If the answers no, go to Murphy/Robertson.
I wasnt planning to but since then ive brought in McDonald, Langdon, M Thomas and Fasolo. As im looking to win my leagues i think maybe i should just tank round 8 and set up the rest of the year. Swan it is then. Thanks!

Hi Bobbie,
sometimes I think building up too much cash can be detrimental. I'd squeeze an upgrade in this week, something like Langdon to Simpson.
As to Tyson, Dunstan and Cunningham, the safer option is Cunningham, but the other two are more likely to kickstart their money making again with a 90-100 score. I think they're worth the risk, even if it ends up costing a little in the long run.
Thanks. I have gone Ellis > Robertson and Langdon > Simpson. Leaves me with $168K which isn't too shabby! My defence looks better now with the added premium. Hopefully I can do another upgrade next week.

Hey Pro,
stick with the original plan. If things go awry next week, you might have 2 weeks without an upgrade.
Mmm I don't quite get this. Could you explain? If things go awry next week shouldn't I just get in 2 rookies in this week?

Hey Rowsus, I'm sure you're familiar with this weeks rookie dilemma, and was looking for advice:

Trading Ellis out to Lloyd (via Martin) would mean my forwardline is weakened and I'd be forced to play Lloyd, which you'd expect would cost me a reasonable amount of points. This also means I would have to bench one of Crouch/Tyson/Dunstan with Tyson i think the clear choice for bench, although I'm with the belief that Tyson will still make more money. The question is, is it worth having Tyson on the bench if I think Crouch will score higher, since I could be cashing in more right now for him (instead of Ellis)?

Cheers

Hi Rowsus

Can you please help?
Cannot decide what to do this week?

B: Mitchell, Swallow, McVeigh,Jaensch,McDonald, Langdon (Langford,Laidler)
M:Ablett, Beams, Libba, Murphy, Polec, Tyson, Dunstan, Crouch (Buckley, Ellis)
R: Minson, Sandi (currie, Thurlow)
F: Martin, Danger, Pav, Zorko, Fasalo, Higgins (Taylor, JHK )
$380k 24 trades

Need it improve mids and look at offloading these rookies
Do I go Ellis to Lloyd/via Taylor or to Robertson then upgrade Tyson to Swan/pendles ?
Or do I go Ellis to Lloyd /Robertson and upgrade Higgins ?
Just can't decide. Would like Pendles or Riewoldt but wouldn't that be waste of cash ?

Hey Rowsus,

Your sold on Hibberd? Looking to bring in a non-Rd8 defender. Given b/e's this week, he is favoured. I know your a fan...you dont see his price dropping sub 480k at any point ? Relative to some others, my only reservation is i think he has a lower scoring ceiling.

Hi Rowsus,

I was looking at/helping my son with his team earlier today and he wanted to upgrade in the mids but didn't have enough cash for the player/s he was interested in.

On looking for other options for him we came upon N Jones.

He didn't make the trade but this has me thinking.

He hasn't played less than 20 games since his first season (2006).

His best average in that time is 97.5 (2012).

He is currently averaging 113.5 and is priced at $ 502,200.

I don't follow the demons closely and had not considered him before today (although was unhappily impressed with his game against Murph in round4).

Do you think he will revert to his average or has the new coach changed his role and the teams game enough that he can continue averaging 110-115 making him good enough for a top 10 mid (currently ranked 10 for points scored/14th average points per game).

If he continues to average 110-115 per game this is probably good enough for M8.

What are your thoughts on N Jones?

TBO,
I'd leave the dead Rookie, and grab the cash.

What I was alluding to was, if you get 2 LTI's or suspensions this week you will be forced into 2 sideways corrective trades. So it would mean no upgrade that week either.

Hey dyii,
if you think Tyson can make more cash, which I think he can too, then just sit him on the bench for now, and use Ellis.

Hi Slammer,
sorry I'm late on the scene, just got up (6.54am here).
I would have suggested going Swan, and hopefully you did.
Riewoldt is overpriced, and Pendles is sitting high, but not as bad a use of cash as Riewoldt right now.
My choice would have been Ellis to Lloyd via Taylor and Tyson to Swan.
I hope it works out for you.

Hey happydays,
when it comes to Defenders I am happy to take consistency over ceiling. It's probable his Price will drop below $480k at some stage, but you might miss a good opportunity waiting for that to happen. .

Hi blue,
he's a gun, no doubt, and he is getting some help in the engine room this year, which has made the difference. I'm just not confident it will continue at that level. He could easily fall back to 100-105 for the rest of the season. He's a risk, and a POD, but not for me. I do love watching him play though, he's so good in heavy traffic, and has been for years now.
