Hey Rowsus.
I totally agree on your stance RE Matt Thomas in the R3 trades thread. There's just not much downside to M.Thomas with such a low breakeven. I expect him to make some good cash so I could either downgrade him to another rookie when MT has hit his ceiling or upgrade him to a premium who has bottomed out.
I'm doing Michie -> Thomas
My biggest concern is my DEF: Mitchell, Enright, Hurn, Swallow, McDonald, Langdon (Georgiou, Langford)
I'm only going for a league win, so I'm holding onto Enright for 1 more week if he's a late out tonight. Think he should be ready to go next week if he's not right for tonight.
Hurn is the worry. I'm tempted to sidetrade him to Grimes as I've not got enough bash to upg him to another premo due to the Michie trade. I also think that just strengthens my DEF with the lack of rookie options down there. Adding to that, I think Grimes is a better player than 436k, problem is he always seems to pick up an injury somewhere during the year.
However, I think the best move long term is to see how Kolodjashnij and Laidler go today and then if one of them scores really well then downgrade Hurn to one of those two next week for some really good extra cash as I have cover on the bench for Hurn (and Enright if he pulls out). My theory is the backline premiums are easiest to upgrade to eventually cos they fluctuate more than premiums in other areas of the ground. Similarly, I could downgrade a Rohan or someone next week and upg Hurn to McVeigh whose most likely going to dip a bit in price.
What are your thoughts?
Cheers
