Rowsus,

With McEvoy out, do we believe it'll just be for the one week? Also with no Dixon cover, so I'll have to cop a donut unless I trade out Thurlow for either Derickx or Currie.

Thoughts? Worth a trade (would mean I'd have to sacrifice getting either Swallow (for Hurn) or M. Thomas (for Michie))? Or cop the donut?
I don't believe the trade to Derrikx or Currie is worthwhile. Either cop the donut, or trade McEvoy to Mumford, or another Ruck you have confidence in.
Good luck :)

Thanks so much Rowsus, been a great help for me!

Sorry to keep asking, but just a last question before lockout.

What are your thoughts on keeping Hurn this week and trading him to McVeigh next week, instead of trading Hurn to Swallow this week.
This means I'll have to take a rookie score for this week but could upgrade to a higher scorer than Swallow, would love your thoughts :)

Hi Rowsus
I need to get Tyson in this week so I traded Michie to him
The second trade is either Wright to Zorko (seen last week where Wright did not attend many bounces at all and was nowhere to be found)
Or Higgins to Matt Thomas via Lewis Taylor DPP

So far ive gone with the first one but would like to see what u think
thanks
Hi lakb24,
I prefer the Higgins --- Thomas M trade, but that's because I'm not convinced Zorko will be a top 8-10 Fwd from rounds 3 to 23.
If you are convinced he will be, then the Zorko trade is probably better.
Good luck :)

I prefer that, as I believe McVeigh is more likely to produce more points from here than Swallow. Just my opinion. If you believe there is less than 100 points in it, from here to the end, Swallow at the lower Price is the better option.
Good luck :)

Hi Rowsus,

(Very) belated birthday wishes!

Wondering if you might be able to give my team the once over and indicate if you think any trades are warranted this week and, if so which. I haven't used a trade yet, have $19,000 in the bank and am pretty happy with with the cash generation ability of the team - got reasonably lucky with rookies this year.

Was thinking of moving Hale on (and getting Zorko for almost the same price) but figure Hale may get more ruck time and increase his output over the next few weeks if McEvoy's absence is more than just this week.

Also been looking at a couple of trades involving getting two of either Thomas, M, Cunningham or Ambrose via two of Rohan, Michie or Kennedy-Harris.

If you're able, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Foxy,
thanks for the birthday wishes,
I can't see any need for you to trade this week.
You need 2 trades to reach Thomas m, so that's not worth it, Hale is filling a purpose for now, so keep him, and the other Rookie trades don't produce a full trades worth of benefit. I'd just sit pat this week. Good job.
Good luck :)

If you've lost faith in Pav, and believe Zorko is the real deal, then jump this week. I can't say it is a trade I like, but you need to back your opinions.
Good luck :)
Cheers for the advice.
Ended up keeping Pav, I liked his first match didn't see his second and think Zorko will be impacted by Rockcliff moving back into the mids. Still think Zorko will average more but not enough to warrant a trade.

Thanks Rowsus,

At half-time I'm reasonably happy with the purpose Hale is filling at the moment ........ :)

Never before gone into Round 4 with a full compliment of trades remaining!

Hey Rowsus.

I totally agree on your stance RE Matt Thomas in the R3 trades thread. There's just not much downside to M.Thomas with such a low breakeven. I expect him to make some good cash so I could either downgrade him to another rookie when MT has hit his ceiling or upgrade him to a premium who has bottomed out.

I'm doing Michie -> Thomas

My biggest concern is my DEF: Mitchell, Enright, Hurn, Swallow, McDonald, Langdon (Georgiou, Langford)

I'm only going for a league win, so I'm holding onto Enright for 1 more week if he's a late out tonight. Think he should be ready to go next week if he's not right for tonight.

Hurn is the worry. I'm tempted to sidetrade him to Grimes as I've not got enough bash to upg him to another premo due to the Michie trade. I also think that just strengthens my DEF with the lack of rookie options down there. Adding to that, I think Grimes is a better player than 436k, problem is he always seems to pick up an injury somewhere during the year.

However, I think the best move long term is to see how Kolodjashnij and Laidler go today and then if one of them scores really well then downgrade Hurn to one of those two next week for some really good extra cash as I have cover on the bench for Hurn (and Enright if he pulls out). My theory is the backline premiums are easiest to upgrade to eventually cos they fluctuate more than premiums in other areas of the ground. Similarly, I could downgrade a Rohan or someone next week and upg Hurn to McVeigh whose most likely going to dip a bit in price.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers

Had the same issue too. Glad you endorse the Mcevoy to Mumford trade, Rowsus. I should've sorted out my McDonough issue in Round 1. McEvoy stuffed up my trade plan this round

Apologies if I can find this info in another place, but is it possible to get an estimate of what Walters might drop to next week please?

As Rowsus is likely to be asleep at the moment I thought I would quickly answer. Using TooSerious he will be priced at about $435,800 so a drop of just under 45k. Of course give or take about 5k for this figure as no one knows exactly what the magic number (used to calculate prices) will drop this round.

Many thanks Philzsay. Probably not as much of a drop as I thought.

Hi SOG,
if you've got the coverage this week, then holding Hurn for a week might be the go.
Good luck :)

Rowsus.

You made no trade and YOU STILL HAVE DIXON.? - i am surprised.
Rowsus is in same boat with me with regards Dixon.
He is being traded but no need to do it until 4-40 this arvo.
In fact if a bench rookie down forward scored well, you could leave Dixon on field and get that rookie score.
That is probably why you'll see not many of us have traded him just yet... We could always trade him next week too if the rookie from bench does the job. For me though with Rohan starting sub, no great point as I now moved (E) off Rohan

According to SC Gold his price will drop about $36.1k to $443,400. I think they have their B/E's wrong though, and my estimate is he will drop $44.2k to $435,300.

Hi a_k,
The thing to keep in mind is, that when you look at other peoples teams, you cannot see the changes in their team until the round is over.
I actually completed the Dixon out, Taylor down, Thomas in trade about 6 hours ago, before I went to bed.
Oz is right about my other trade, I'm just waiting until closer to the bounce to complete that trade.
