New topic. Fantastic news, BT remains on the Friday night commentary team.

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...l-change-for-season-2023-20230221-p5cm4o.html

Hope that made your day. :devilish:
AI is getting pretty clever these days. Think there is an opening in the market for an app/software that you can install on your smart TV that converts the commentary of any sports commentator into that of your favourite commentator. So if you liked Bruce then BT's "Wow Wee" becomes "Special". Software comes with full list of commentators but no batteries included, read the 32 page disclosure statement before accepting these terms and conditions, your personal data will be shared with any advertiser we can flog it to and we are not sure but Elon Musk probably owns this company via a Virgin Islands unlisted entity thus your Twitter account is likely to be spammed relentlessly.

Not chatgpt is up to task, one of gpt’s suggestions below

Use closed captioning: If you still want to hear the game sounds but don't want to listen to Brian Taylor's commentary, you can turn on closed captioning. This will allow you to read what's happening in the game while ignoring the commentary.

is this how cc works with the footy?

ChatGPT is Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer. It is a powerful AI bot that is capable of understanding human speech and producing in-depth writing that is easily understood by humans. The question-answer format use in ChatGPT makes it interesting.

But as we are talking about BT, I am not sure ChatGPT will be up to it, as per my highlighted section in italics.

Did you see Ginnivan's interview? It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time. Couldn't lie straight in bed if he tried.
Haven't but can only imagine that apologising for having someone film you in a private moment and release it to the public to shame you for doing something you don't think is wrong (and a significant amount of people would agree) is pretty hard. He's a footballer not an actor.

Haha, some of the mayo he has put on the head high tackles received would suggest otherwise 🤣

But to the point I agree , why apologise for something he does as recreation, that only does harm to himself.
As footballers, let them do what they want, its not performance based anyways, however, once they start advocating as a role model; not all footballers should be classed as role models just because they get drafted, then they should practice higher standards. And Ginnivan is only a football player to my knowledge.

If it was the same Ginivan I saw last year he should have been paying a yearly subscription to Actore Equity :)

Just a note on the whole Ginnivan issue and the broader view of it in society, I did note today that Queensland has changed its drug laws to something quite akin to the AFL's three strikes policy: https://amp.abc.net.au/article/102003918

Most other states are doing this already, which I also had no idea about. It certainly does seem that community sentiment is moving in this direction - viewing drug use not from a punitive perspective, but as a symptom of a bigger malaise. And frankly, I think it's long past time.

Prohibition didn't work in the 1920/30s, I don't know why or how anyone thought it would work in 1980 through to now, especially now when all the evidence is so strongly to contrary of it working.

I'll never understand the logic of pushing something that is inherently dangerous, especially when done wrong, into the most nefarious people in the population and asking them to be the arbiters of its distribution, in what other area of society does that sound like a good idea?

It's even weirder when you consider the amount of tax revenue that they're forfeiting by doing that, it's not just an idiotic idea from a health and safety perspective but also from a taxation and financial consideration. I mean are they really that inept?

Navigating the Telstra/Kayo nexus is utterly terrible. Don't they want to take my money?! Why is it not easy to resubscribe?!! WHY THE **** SHOULD I PAY $25 A MONTH IF YOU CAN'T SORT OUT HOW TO MAKE IT EASY TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT TO PEOPLE?!:mad::mad:

Cigarettes and alcohol are legal and they cause more death and associated harm than all other drugs combined. It's a bit more nuanced than just legalise it.

Good rant!, Telstra has to be about the worst company to deal with I've ever experienced, from the days of being on hold for hours waiting to get through to a call centre in god knows what country, to them completely stuffing up your personal details, address, email, wrong account or wrong name or misspelled name, which could seemingly never be changed until you actually register an official complaint with them, which will probably get lost by the tenth different person you spoke to who's only been there one week.
Happy days!, I celebrated the day when I was done with Telstra once and for all time.
Thanks for this thread, it's good to vent sometimes :)
