Very unfortunate Donny, I too traded him out after round 10 thinking he was done as a rookie, I did trade him to Hewett though so that's a slight win. Wouldn't mind still having Daicos though.
Yeah, it's the way it goes sometimes. Zorko looked like he was back as a midfielder when i brought him in. Hall was always super risky and Whitfield is famous for being a squib, so those two are kind of on me. Just needed guys that were a bit cheaper because of the lost cash on Zorks and Stewart. Really shoupd have just kept Stewart and covered him with PMac. Such is life.

Death by 1000 cuts of trading that unfortunately. Always the risk when taking on durability risks hunting value unfortunately!

The term "Golf Shot" really annoys me lol, "what a terrific Golf Shot", really?.... was it a golf shot was it cause I was already watching the golf and thank god they told me it was a golf shot.
When I'm watching Footy they don't say "what a great Football kick" or when I'm watching the WSL they don't say " wow what a fantastic surfing wave" , they don't say "that's an NFL touchdown" or "what a great Rugby League Try"
Aaaand I'm done writing my English Language rant! :)

I feel for Noble. To me, it seems that a few players who refused to take ownership of their own actions or inactions have thrown their toys out of the cot and started to cry. Too often these days people seek change as an excuse for their own performances with it easy to pass the blame to someone else. The selections this week show this also IMO, the match committee obviously wern't interested in parting some blame of player performances of certain players shown by them holding their spots. It's a shame that these days it's always the coaches fault if the player doesn't "play" for the coach and heaven forbid we put it back on the young needy players to step up. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have resilience or grit you'll get founf out. It wasn't the coaches fault they lost the game last week, it was players who lost the game. Instead of thinking they could win the game at 3/4 time, they were worried about losing the game and it snowballed from there. One player in particular who has been through this before at another club should've been sent to the magoos for the rest of the season.

Over a month since a rant. Amazing. Let me fix that.

Having just lost my main money league by 11 points there are some things I need to get off my chest. Beware this will be a very biased account drawing on selective facts to suit my argument.

With 1 quarter to go I needed to make up around 17 points and have Mills (C) & Heeney v Steele. In that quarter Mills scores 12 points, Heeney scores 31 and Steele 49. Therefore it ends up 12 x 2+31 = 55 v 49.

They way I figure if any of the following things goes my way then I win this league.
  • I locked in Oliver for 118 rather than roll the dice on Mills (93). I would very rarely not do this.
  • Oliver doesn't have 13 clangers with his 20 CPs to limit his score to an awkward 118.
  • I don't get spooked by a mediocre last game and a Drew tag and entrust the C on the most reliable player in the game Laird (133) who I used my last 2 trades on last week (1 was Merrett) to shoehorn into my side. (Madness!!!)
  • I don't trade out Merrett for Laird last round.
  • Laird (opponents captain) doesn't score 10 points in the last 30 seconds of the game with a tackle, 3 possessions including a centre clearance.
  • Darcy doesn't go backwards in the last quarter from 90 - 83 when Freo believe he should play forward and Meek should play the majority of the last quarter in the Ruck. This resulted in me using Coleman's 88.
  • Lobb doesn't get injured which means Meek doesn't even play.
  • I select any of Dunkley, Sicily, English, Cripps, Heeney or Sinclair to be my captain rather than Mills.
  • Cripps doesn't get caught holding the ball in the last minute of a 1 point game to lose significant points.
  • Mills doesn't spend 47% of the first quarter on the bench.
  • Steele doesn't kick that goal from 50 out from the boundary early in the last quarter.
  • Mills doesn't get stuck on the wing were no ball ever goes for the majority of the last quarter.
  • That kick out from Jake Lloyd to Mills in the last few minutes hits the target rather than gets spoiled by Steele and resulting in a StK goal.
  • The 2 marks and 2 effectives kicks by Heeney in the last few minutes when the game was still up for grabs score more that 4 points.
  • Heeney doesn't get scaled down by 2 points but actually gets scaled up on account of the previous point.
  • Mills doesn't get scaled down 4 points.
This game is character building...

As a Heeney owner I was miffed also with these 2 things:-

  • The 2 marks and 2 effectives kicks by Heeney in the last few minutes when the game was still up for grabs score more that 4 points.
  • Heeney doesn't get scaled down by 2 points but actually gets scaled up on account of the previous point.
I lost my main cash league GF by 10 points, didn't say anything as sour grapes/ sore loser etc but ... :-

Both marks were in packs after Swans kicked down the line

So should be 20 points not 4 then lost 2 to scaling so effectively just 2 points for 2 contested marks & 2 effective kicks :cautious:

Unfortunately I've learnt over the years to never look too deep into the Supercoach scoring system. There are anomalies like the Heeney one every year that challenges the accuracy and trust in the system.
One of the inconsistencies in our great Supercoach game. I feel for ya mate.

Can't believe [INSERT PLAYER HERE] was such a spud today, should've traded for [INSERT PLAYER HERE] instead.

What the hell was [INSERT COACH HERE] thinking leaving [INSERT PLAYER HERE] on the bench with the game on the line??

Lost two leagues to [INSERT PLAYER HERE] scaling, the fix is in from CD...

Have I missed any?

Why are people only "(so) remorseful" after they are caught? Why don't they express remorse after the illegal activity? Is getting away with something illegal ok if you are not caught? And of course, you will never repeat the indiscretion.

Just my two bobs worth.
