Geelong’s mega deal to Jeremy Cameron as Giants consider making AFL history
7 News Melbourne reported the deal was around $1 million a year, while the Herald Sun on Friday night reported Geelong had tabled a five-year, $4.75 million deal, which averages out to around $950,000 per year. The latter report also suggested a sixth season could be included should Cameron reach a games trigger clause in the fifth year of his deal.

Update: Greater Western Sydney will match Geelong's' monster offer for star forward, forcing the clubs to the trade table

Does anyone understand this stuff? Given a straight choice of Joe Daniher and Zac Williams, who would you choose?
You get given a pick in different brackets (Round 1, 2, end of Round 2 etc.) depending on the size of the contract, which is not officially publicised. If the pick you receive is in a "round" bracket, rather than "end of round", then you receive the pick after your current pick in that round.

So if the Bombers happen to have won the flag this season, they'd be getting pick 19 for Daniher.

Which means it’s rarely right for the player in question.
Which is also why us Crows supporters will take pick 2 for Brad Crouch with bells on! 😃
Plus what ever “Steak Knives” come our way from St Kilda having to free up salary cap space to get him at the right price. Through a completely seperate unrelated trade of course.........

Wonder if the Crows and Essendon would be keen on swapping Pick 1 for 6+7 and sending pick 1 to the bulldogs and 14 back to Essendon for Dunkley? Think it would be a win for each club especially if Adelaide can't get pick 2 compo for Crouch. (Probably throw around some 2021 picks as sweetners)

Crows get 2 young guns with 6+7 before having another pick at pick 9. (Might end up with pick 17 from St.kilda for Crouch).
Essendon get Dunkley + 14(Need to remain in the first round after trading away the 2 previous yearly first rounders.)
Bulldogs get Pick 1 to pick up someone before having to match any bid on Ugle-Hagan. (Would have to go into defecit next year but would be worth it gettin 2 x #1 picks essentially.)

Lol, I don't think the Bulldogs would hand over a 1st round pick and Dunkley for pick 1. They'd be expecting 2 1st rounders at a minimum.

If they end up with first rounders behind a Ugle-Hagan bid at pick 1-2 though the earliest one would get consumed and then pushed back with the others. They have pick 14 atm which is probably going to end up pick 18 at this rate with Ugle-Hagan bid, The 2 Sydney Swan Academy player bids and Lachie Jones PAFC Academy.

yeah, I'm not that involved in the points system, but from what I understand, if the dogs have some later picks whether 2nd, 3rd or 4th rounders, they could accumulate more points with those as compared to a 1st rounder. Should be interesting next week, plenty of trades will go through.

Yeh alot of fine print stuff would be needed for the point stuff but you get the two players they would need and want. Always a lucky dip who ends up left around the later picks. Hollands/Denver Grainger-Barras at pick 1 + Ugle-Hagan would be handy.

I get Dome's point though, Bulldogs get to have their cake and eat it too in regards to Ugle-Hagan. Probably a bit light on for the Crows though, given there state of their list a player coming back the other was from Essendon as well to sweeten the deal would be needed.

Yeh Crows do get a little short changed on that 1 transaction but gettin 4 first round picks probably suits them more than anyone. Add Hately onto that could end up a nice core group going forward. All comes down to if they end up with pick 2 compo which I think is looking highly unlikely now.

FORMER steeplechaser Harry Sharp has set a new 2km time trial record at the Victorian NAB AFL Draft Combine on Saturday.

The Greater Western Victoria Rebels prospect underlined his athletic qualities with a brilliant run in the endurance test.

His time of 5 minutes 28 seconds smashed the record attained by Jay Rantall at last year's Draft Combine, when the now Collingwood midfielder ran 5:50 in the gruelling aerobic test.
