He was very good v Richmond yesterday & has impressed at training the last few weeks. WCE are really thin in regards to key defender stocks with Barrass now at the hawks, Harry Edwards has had some injury issues this preseason & I personally don't really rate him. Wouldn't surprise me to see Brock given an opportunity early, Sheed put on the LTI list.

Thought he was good for the Eagles, definitely energetic and made an impact once on.

Probably has to steal a small forward slot at Dees though.
Yeah for sure. I understand we have brought him across to play a role not too dissimilar to the role that ANB played as that half-forward pressure type.

Honestly could get his chance as soon as round 1 with our small to medium forward stocks in all sorts of strife with Kozzy suspended, Kolt, Melksham and McAdam injured, and Spargo still working his way back to full fitness.

I assume this means English will be the main ruck with relief from Darcy &/or Lobb if required?
Not sure what they do with the backup. They had Gardner doing it in practice but that could just be insurance.

JUH is back to senior training now and could allow Darcy to relieve after JUH returns to actual play. Lobb has to remain in defence with Jones injured.

Classic fool's gold scenario setup.

They could actually just go with something similar to what the Cats did with Hawkins, just have Darcy take all F50 ruck contests, English roam the midfield and back half and Lobb just takes a lot of D50 ones to allow English to position behind the ball there also. That's what I'd do so you can bet that Bevo wont be doing that

It's Bevo, the guy who rucked Dunkley over actual rucks, so probably going to be Ryley Sanders or Dale or something.

Definitely good for English on paper though. I still think English is the best value bet ruck, I think the concussion that wasn't a concussion episode was a massive part of why he was so bad last year. The ruck rule change was also absolutely a factor so will be interesting to see if he can work out a counter to that, bringing in a brute like Crossley to train against may very well have been intentional as well for that factor.

Yeh the rule change could have played a part in that and his contract status could have had it's mental toll.
