Just like we where expected to sack Simmo. The Victorian media has no idea, lol

I do find it quite funny the desperation of the Vic media to have Harley Reid stay in Victoria. I've never ever seen the media campaign so hard for a club to trade Pick 1 as much as I have this year... apart from the week after we beat WBD and North held Pick 1... then it was all about Reid going to North and what a gun he was, until North won on the weekend... then it's back to The Eagles must trade Pick 1, and the narrative that Pick 1's rarely end up winning premierships and that there's no guarantee they turn into gun players.

I think Clarko conveniently forgot about Luke Hodge when he made that comment on the #1 picks. If the player is good enough, they can still win a flag (or 4).

He is right that only 3 #1's have won premierships though.

Drew Banfield being another Pick 1 to win a couple of flags with us. Just funny really that they don't bang on about this every other year.

I was fairly sure Brockman was looking at going back to Perth, and I think the Hawks were looking at Henry. Unfortunately not going to be a simple swap now if he goes to the Eagles instead.

I absolutely hear you, @Lost In The Sky. The media and football 'experts' seem to want to contrive sensationalist narratives all the time. Some of the ones you have already experienced this year is the 'this team is so bad that they'll never be any good' narrative and the 'they must sack everybody narrative'. It's honestly ridiculous and disrespectful to all the people who are subjected to unfair criticism and speculation.
