Yeah yeah, probably a different discussion if the Papley free won Sydney the game hey.. πŸ€”πŸ‘Œ
Not quite sure what that has to do with Ward's free kick , I am positive that the free was for high contact , but you don't agree , so just asked the question what it was paid for ?

Chin up mate , 1853 here

you should have joined me and @Ironhawk head-to-head game a few weeks ago

as frustrating as it it (and believe me I know) just have a bit of fun with your side for the final 8 weeks , try a few different players.

I have learnt not to compare my score to all the guns on here , and just try and improve a little each week
I'm happy for you to join our fun H-H comp too @Grundogging. If you are interested, let myself or Herbie know and we will sort it out. It has been good competition so far, we all scored within 50 points of each other this round.

Lads......the umpiring this year has been the worst that I can remember.

I could mention a certain umpire that has awarded 48 frees against and 5 frees for in the last 4 games that he has officiated in against the Tigers ( not to mention the amount of 50m penalties ) but I wont.

They have a bugger of a job which is not helped by the constant greying of the rules, so best we learn to deal with it.

Aynyway I'm off to the Rnd 11 trades thread.

Interesting picture. Umpire may have got it correct.

If you pay this you have to pay a free against Heath Shaw for concussing Townsend. McKernan was doing nothing except trying to get the ball which is all Heath Shaw was trying to do.
I've posted before that I think the umpires are over coached and the AFL are very reactionary and the players are all over it. If the AFL was serious about protecting the head they would penalise the player causing the head contact and in this case it's Ward because he deliberately leads with the head knowing he might get a free kick. Everyone's talking about the way he fell but the way he went into the contest was the problem. Throws his head at McKernan, gets a free kick, wins the game! Why wouldn't he keep hitting his head against the opponent?

Anything else while on my soapbox? :)
