The SUNS will be forced to make at least one change for this weekend’s Sir Doug Nicholls clash against Geelong.

After Sam Collins was ruled out with a hip injury for the next six weeks, Gold Coast’s match committee will be looking to the club’s key position stocks for a replacement.

READ: Alpha Sport Injury Update: Round 10

Jack Leslie will be in contention to play his first game of the year as the club’s most direct replacement for Collins.

Other options are swingman Chris Burgesswho hasn’t played an AFL match since Round 5, or Sam Day who has been impressing in the forward line in the NEAFL but has played as a key defender in the past.

George Horlin-Smith travelled to Adelaide as an emergency and will be in contention once again to return to the side.

Will Brodie was also an emergency for the match and could provide more inside midfield grunt if the match committee decide to make multiple changes.

Who do you think is in the mix?
Come on down Burgess. Would be handy, even better if he impressed.

Surrounded by short term injuries but I still prefer to upgrade if I can get 18 on the park. O’Brien to Young via Bines, don’t want to park Bines in the forward line of no use there, Duursma to Lloyd. Will suffer a bit in Rd.13 but haven’t got there yet.

Gonna kill two birds with one stone by trading out Moore instead of Williams but means I'll have to settle for Tim Taranto over Zerrett (via Dunkley). This is about the 3rd time I was planning to get Merrett for most of the week only for it to fall apart (and most of preseason). I'll be with you one day my love, I swear it.

Scoring is not the problem for Nic Nat... On return from his first knee reco last season he avg'd 100.5 in his 14 games excluding the RD 17 game in which he did his other knee. That was done from an avg of 60% game time per match... I don't know any other player in the comp with the potential to score like he does.

Nic's problem will be staying on the park. He also did get 1 rest in RD 8 last season.

As tempting as Nic Nat is, I'd be chasing whichever of Grundy or Gawn you don't have.

I started with Ryder last year, copped the Round 1 injury and traded him to Nic Nat.... Then through my mismanagement of trades, lol... I ended up copping 6 donuts in the ruck for the year as I couldn't trade Nic out again. Ruined the year.

I definitely wouldn't be paying $524,400 for him.
Love the comment and as a habitual buyer, like yourself I'm guessing, I get it. His scoring rate per minute is phenomenal and his total scores off low TOG are good. It's just the total score is too far off Grawndy, even without the injury risk. I bought last season on the expectation of increasing game time throughout the year. It didn't eventuate and the injury came. I wanted to highlight the low TOG and that it's unlikely to improve in the near term.

Need some advice
Is it worth keeping cogs or should I double down on the trade
Moore to Lloyd
Cogs to Macrae/Cripps/oliver

Or am I missing something I’m at a loss as to what way to go my current rookies ain’t performing like my early rookies

Thanks for any advice

Current team
Def - Whitfield- Laird - Smith - Rozee- McGrath - Moore ( Clark - Answerth)

Mids - Neale - Fyfe - Sloane - gaff - cogs - Rocky - Stack- Butters ( Durrsma-Hayes-Stocker)

Rucks - Grundy - Goldy ( Sweet)
Fwds - Kelly - Danger - Fisher- Hoff- Baker - Drew (Parker - Burgess)

Wait for teams tmr. Cogs is likely to come straight back in. Moore to Lloyd is good. I would trade out Butters to a rookie for cash.

To be honest I think key back might be a better spot for him at AFL level, as he is strong, mobile, and quick enough for his size - just didn't have enough forward craft to be effective at AFL level.

Early thoughts this week are...

Round 10
Duursma ---> Hurn
O'Brien ---> Young

Round 11
Double Downgrade [Atley/Garner/Hinge/Fort, etc.]
Probably need to take them while/if they are there.
Slight adjustment on the above now that Moore is a confirmed out again...

Round 10
Duursma ---> Hurn
Moore ---> Young

Round 11
Double Downgrade [Atley/Garner/Hinge/Fort, etc.]

What does the rest of your team look like as this will help us to suggest recommendations or options for trades this round.

Will trade O’Brien to Lloyd and also thinking of Moore to Young. With getting Young a week early I’m really worried about my rookies for when byes come around... gee they look shaky!

Currently have Answerth, Clark, Scrimshaw, Stack, Duursma, Hately, Hayes, Scott, Atkins, Balta, Drew and Young

Then when you think next week it will be Duursma and Drew for two of Ately, Garner, Hinge and I start to think if I’ll have enough warm bodies for next week... let alone the byes!!

Who would’ve thought three weeks ago Balta would be one of the better ones! Here’s hoping Scott has a similar turnaround!
