One thing I'd love to know is, where did the Hately go home factor talk start from?

From what I can gather, he's a very mature kid, that was well aware and comfortable with going interstate if thats the way it fell for him on draft night. From the draft videos and interviews I've seen, he and his family were pretty stoked with him going to GWS, and his mothers side have a lot of family in Canberra/Sydney.

I also think he would've known from day dot that there was the likelihood that he would play majority of his time in the twos this year due to the strength of the GWS side and midfield. He's shown from his two games this year that he can match it at the top level, and that taste would've given him and the coaches points for him to work on back in the NEAFL, where he has gone to another level the last 5-6 games.

Idk, I just feel everyone has sort of gone early on the go-home factor for Hately.
However, I could be wrong obviously, and we see him head back to SA on the next plane out of there. :ROFLMAO:
and posts like this , is why you should post more ?

great insight and information

agree totally that families would be stoked that their kids got drafted , we do have modern communication in the world now to stay in touch.

I know when the Swans were after Walker , they told his parents anytime they needed to fly to Sydney to see him just phone the club and a flight would be booked

Has anyone figured out for me how the heck I am going to get to Marvel Stadium and sitting in my seat in time for the 7:20 bounce???

7:50 would have been better for me, just that little bit better turnaround time to get there, and it's all about me of course, lol! And I don't care about the kids late night, school tomorrow arguement, it's the last day of term, they get out at lunch time, plus the teachers take it easy as anyone would a day before a break!

Sen1116 reporting

Geelong coach Chris Scott has ruled out forwards Gary Rohan and Esava Ratugolea for tomorrow night’s clash with Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium.
Rohan suffered a concussion in a heavy hit from Karl Amon in the Cats’ 11-point loss to Port Adelaide last week, while Ratugolea missed the clash altogether due to a hamstring injury.

Scott says he didn’t decide to rule Rohan out of tomorrow night's game purely based on medical advice stemming from the concussion.
“Gary was always a player that we felt that we needed to be quite cautious with in his management,” the Cats coach told SEN’s Whateley.
“So even more than the concussion issue, it was just a matter of us saying: ‘What’s the benefit of playing him this week versus the reward?’
“He may well play another couple of games and we might choose to leave him out anyway to have him in as good a shape for the end of the season as possible.
“A number of factors added up that made us think irrespective of the medical assessment and direction, this is probably the week to take him out.”
In a worrying sign for Cats fans, Scott was unable to confirm when Ratugolea would return to the senior line-up.
“The one that will be a surprise to everyone and a disappointment to Geelong fans is that Esava Ratugolea won’t be ready,” he said.
“Again, it’s a surprise to us but if Gary Rohan’s in that cautious subgroup then Esava Ratugolea’s clearly in it as well.
“I’m not really in a position where I can give a clear indication as to when he will play.
“Certainly not this week, there’s a fair chance it won’t be next week as well.”
The Cats will aim to bounce back from their defeat to the Power when they host the Crows on Friday night.
Geelong has won their past 10 against Adelaide at the venue - a winning streak that commenced in 2004.

Is Grundy a restricted free agent?

Couldn’t we just offer him a huge deal that means you can’t afford to match because of the likely discrepancies in salary cap room?
