Totally get the desire to trade Cripps, I didn't see much of the game but by all accounts he didn't look great.
Are we basing the trade decision mainly off that (how he looked) as much as the value he currently is to a side?

Neale only scored 77 in R1 (compared to Cripps' 88) and costs 200k more. Neale would have to score 165 this week to deliver the same $ per point that Cripps has already, but I'm not hearing people lining up to say "unless Neale gets 150 he's gone".

Similarly for guys like Bont or Jelly, who cost around 100k more but only delivered 4 and 10 points more in R1.

I've been burned before by trading out a premium who didn't look great early (Oliver) and it came back to bite really badly.

Food for thought?
Didn't look great? More like looked terrible and spent a lot of time forward, in addition to the fact that the coach genuinely seems to think Cripps looked good as a forward (he certainly didn't). Everyone's picked Cripps on the assumption that he could be massively underpriced, the problem is that since the first 4 games of last seasons he's been a shadow of the player he used to be. The trend suggests he could be fairly or even overpriced.
If you don't have Dusty in your forward line it's pretty much sc season over...
Is this B*gF**ty now?

I mean he's been a 100-105ppg guy for the last 3 years and for most of his career. We know he always monsters Carlton - as will many forward of the half players this year by the looks (see Kmart dusty's 4 goals in a half last night).

2018 he was going at 133ppg after 4 games and still regressed to a season 103ppg.

Probably going to have a very good year but this comment without reason is flawed.
I just assumed the comment was made in jest...surely?

He's been an underwhelming SC selection when classified as a MID only. When he's able to be selected in the forward line he's been a solid selection. He's not a great value pick that will set you up for the season, but he's priced at averaging 101 (at the bottom end of the 100-105 average), has elite durability and is very likely to be in the top 6 scoring forwards for the year. I'm probably going to be bringing him in this week for Dangerfield.
Well said, and think it is my position after pondering the Danger trade all week.

Without seeing the rest of your team would there be a missed rookie you could get? Actually don't mind the waiting idea, just typically doing 2 trades before price rises and it's sometimes nice having that trade up your sleeve. Outside of Danger, pretty happy with the rest of my side after round 1 though which is unusual...
Hey mate, good to see you on this forum. @Wheedus got me onto this one. Luckily, I nailed all the rookies (except Brockman).

After seeing Grundy's score last night, it doesn't look like I am trading him lol. So just going to go with Taranto and see how we go.

If I have read that right why would you trade Danger out in Round 4 when he is due back Round 5 ? 🤔

Really torn between doing Danger to Tich (via Campbell or Scott in mids) or Danger to Zorko.

Danger to Titch would make my midfield strong, leaving only Gulden as the only playing rookie in the midfield, but weaken my fwd line playing 3 rookies fwd instead of the 2 now.

Danger to Zorko would leave me with 100k in the bank & able to potentially trade Cripps to Titch next week before prices change. Yes i know sideways trading premiums isn't generally a good idea but Cripps is looking shaky and Titch's price will go up next week. Any thoughts on which way i should go? Thanks and good luck to everyone.

After trying my side with all of Mitchell, Martin and Mills, I think I like it best with Mills in. Was keen on him right up until he got a head knock in the preseason game, and I think I like the 5 deep defense a lot.
Just did the same for the same reason but I have been really conflicted about whether to hold Danger or not. Just watch my new captain Gawn spud up now to rub it in

Tough choice between Mills/Titch/Dusty but finally settled on Dusty as my Danger replacement.

Although I'm having it a bit each way bringing in Mills and Titch in RDT and Stephenson and Caldwell in AFL Fantasy this week. Just too many tempting trade-in targets right now. :giggle:

Likewise! Although almost too much activity on here, I can't keep up with it but I guess that's a good problem for a change!

Regarding the "trading loophole", I have tested it out by doing the following:

Prior to Friday night lockout:
- Dangerfield to Dusty.

This morning:
- Dusty to J Lloyd, confirmed trade; then afterwards
- J Lloyd back to Dusty.

At all times, confirmed only 1 trade used.

Now to figure out what the uses are. Maybe to cull a rookie that plays early, with a rookie playing later in the round...or if a player traded in is a late omission.

It could come in handy this year with the staggered team announcements.

Dusty up to 64% ownership, that seems really high.

I don't have him, nor have I contemplated bringing him in for Danger but it could definitely hurt if he goes on a run....
Dusty the main trade in this week for rowell or danger.

Should go big vs Hawks then has 2-3 harder games.

Should I trade one of Cahill/McNeil to one of Berry/Jordon this week, in case I need an extra trade next week? Or should I just watch them both again this week and hope nothing else comes up if I use both trades to grab them both next week?

Can afford to wait imo. Can also afford to wait until 5PM teams to see if McNeil is named, otherwise can grab Jordon early potentially.
