@Rowsus Hey mate I'm posting an update in this thread (my post continued on from your thread) so others could chip in with their opinion too!

Hey everyone, need a bit of advise and your thoughts on the below situation!

Currently I'm 233 points behind my opponent this week in my H2H matchup. He has Macrae (C) and C.Daniel left to play.
I have Hurn, Cripps, Macrae, Answerth & Setterfield left to play. If I take Gawn's VC score from last night I will be 99 points behind him.

My questions are:
1. Should I take Gawn's VC score? I'm worried that Macrae will get 150+ again. Or should I make Macrae or Grundy as C?
2. If trade Setterfield to Yeo, will it give me a highly likely chance of winning the matchup? Or should I just accept defeat save it for next week?!

Currently have 3 trades left. If I trade in Yeo, I will have 2 trades and pretty much no cash remaining going into next week.
If I lose this matchup, I'll still make it through to next week as I finished 4th in my main cash league.
My take is:

(1) Definitely don’t go with Macrae if that’s what your opponent is doing, and you’re already behind - you want to create as many POD opportunities as you can. I’d pick anyone but him, and consider Cripps (I have Macrae, and am taking Cripps ahead of him now that Hutchings is missing). Grundy is now locked out but I wouldn’t have gone with him given Witts tends to neutralize his opponents.

(2) I don’t think it gives you a highly likely chance, unfortunately. I think you’d still be a moderate underdog given Answerth.

You may be best simply holding this week given your double chance. That’s probably what I would do.

Sorry I'm late to the party.
I would have said:
Lock Gawn in, or if you are too itchy, and have to make a move, match his Macrae (C)
Make that Setterfield trade.

Either way, good luck, I hope you win.

Haha well I did take Gawn's VC score
and did make the Yeo trade...which is not looking good at all so far :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:o_O
Haha - looks like it could have been hard to get up with any of the options we were considering, so maybe that’s not the worst thing. Gawn beat Grundy and Cripps has started slow ... you might have jumped the right way on that one. Setterfield to Yeo might not get you over the line this week but probably serves you well in future weeks in terms of overall rank and other finals ?
