Am torn now after Sharp was speared.

Was set on Dow to Jordon / Cripps to Ridley - but now not sure...

Can’t afford to do the same with Sharp, but could go Sharp/Cripps to Jordon/Short.

Comes down to how I rank Ridley vs Short compared to holdings Sharp vs Dow. Hmmm

What are you expecting him to average though?

Even if he averages PIT100 from R3-22 (and even that is doubtful with the info we have), holding Cripps is a 200-300 point loss to a trade to a 110-115 point player (so the trade saved would need to make 200-300).

Cripps just seems like a whole lot of downside, and not much upside to hold.
Sounded like it’s something that he’ll get over eventually. May continue to put in 85-100 type scores in the short term but once fit, could push that 110+ range which we would’ve been expecting.

Don’t quite agree that he has only downside. Will lose say 20-30k but still has upside of 110+ scoring in a few rounds once fit. Score 65 odd in his first half against the Tigers from memory so elite scoring potential is still there.

Yeah he's doing my head in, I'm the same, wanted him out several hours ago but keep coming back to his price. He's still racking up numbers, has had tough games really against Richmond maybe should've scored better against the Pies but didn't see it. Was tracking well up to half time IIRC against the Tigers on track for 110+ but faded.

I know either way he'll make me pay.
I'm going to keep him in the short term at least. Need to trade Caldwell, and get Jordon. He survives for me. Scoring at price - doesn't actually seem worth the trade.
Likely to keep in the short term and re-assess. With cash lost minimal, decision doesn’t necessarily need to be made this week (as opposed to say a Neale type who may lose 100-120k in 2 weeks).

Still not sure how to go about trades this week.

Trade number 1 will be a dropped rookie (likely Scott) > Jordon

Trade number two I have so many options on premium corrections: Duggan, Taranto, Fyfe, Neale, Cripps

I don't really subscribe to the notion of trading Neale or Cripps at this stage.

Fyfe missing a week hurts but his scoring has been okay so probably not worth trading.

Taranto and Duggan might still come good and arent going to lose too much value so not sure if it's just worth holding onto them and waiting to see if they can clean up their disposals.

How much cash in the bank?

Could always hold Sharp for the week and turn him into Chapman on the bubble next week if you have the 30k~ handy.

I am seriously considering no trades. I don't know how to feel about making through 3 rounds without using a trade. I feel a bit dirty. I will probably fold and hit the button on some impulsive trade that blows up in my face
Do you have Neale, Cripps or Gaff?

Neale > Macrae
Ely Smith / Sharp > Tex

Holding Fyfe (who I'm not overly enthused about either with only 1 centre bounce attendance, but potentially if Treacy comes in, maybe he will get some further CBA's in future)

Neale's "back" injuries are enough to put me off... and Macrae is the only midfielder I really like (over Oliver/Steele/Titch) - I can still see some issues with the high stoppage/clearance players, but Dogs uncontested style and Macrae's outside ability encourages me.

I could go Smith/Sharp to Jordon, but I'm not overly enthused with him either, Viney was eased into the Round 2 match and will play more TOG/CBA's next game. Tex should make the same amount of $$ and theoretically score better. If I didn't have 200K spare + other issues anyway, definitely worth getting Jordon over Berry/Warner imo. Warner should benefit again this week with Rowbottom out though.

No idea why Ely Smith wasn't flown down this week... will bite the bullet and lose him over Sharp, who at least could get a price rise (medical sub hoepfully!?) and may be useful later in the year as a D/M.

Phillips another potential issue of mine, but there's probably not as much urgency to get rid of him this early, his break even is 90 so no harm in holding.

Would really love to hold trades next week... touch wood!

Gone around in circles all week.
settled on just Caldwell > Impey
and bank the 150k ish.
if Phillip spuds up again I might trade him next week but hoping it’s more bad DE week and this week will look better.

Fortunately get to see the Adelaide , North Melbourne & Western Bulldogs teams before making a decision to trade Sharp or not (have A Fyfe to use DPP if required) for the week.

Hoping Adelaide & North don't have any rookie surprises in store.

North have a few coming in to the midfield. Surely Powell doesn't need a rest yet?

Really hard off one game and a sub-game, but if Scott is dropped as well, would you take Stefan Giro too?
Probably feels like a trade too far for a rookie that still might not do much.

Hope not.

Ziebell could be a concern too.

Nicks wasn't too pleased after the Adelaide game , hopefully he doesn't make a example of some at the selection table.

Been reading Lewis could come in for Koschitzke.

Might be rookie nightmare already.

Was just thinking if Brisbane only have 29 players in Melbourne (Berry & McInerney injured) Sharp might be close to getting a recall soon.

Maybe he has some schoolwork to catch up on.

Could even be the medical sub.

I just need to see Fridays teams before deciding what to do.

He doesn't have a history of good kicking efficiency. At the moment rnd 1 and 2 look like outliers. Doesn't mean he isn't in a better role. I'm trying to find kick in stats for last year. Does anyone have a link?
My problem is hes a guy I don't trust in a line thats stacked with high scoring options, isn't cheap enough to be anything but a keeper.

No way Clark gets dropped this week. Rohan has got to come out suspended, if a second needs to make way for both Duncan and Menegola, he will survive ahead of Constable, Dahlhaus, Henry, and Z Guthrie.
I dont think hes as safe as people think, was very poor and the only one of that list I'd say he plays over is Zac Guthrie as a Geelong fan.

Just traded Sharp to Jordan, should be my only trade, have Fyfe out, backing Neale to bounce back off the turf, literally. Unsure if Bergman is challenged for his spot, as mentioned Scott could be dropped, hoping Rowe plays and the coach doesn't make a statement. Putting extra sticky tape on Daniher and Fantasia this week. 😆

You are ready for Round 4 by the sounds of that.

Wish I owned JordOn & Warner from the start (probably went too heavy up forward) but alas I don't.

Tempted by Walker , but actually would even like to bring in 2 of Cumming , Jiath & Markov to sure up my defence.

BUT I will stick to my plan.

In: JordOn & Warner
Out: probably Scott & Sharp

Just have a nagging feeling that Adelaide or North might throw us a curve ball tomorrow.

Neale will be fine , a needle can do wonders.

Pendlebury no doubt will ask how he is feeling during the game , or just ask Adams , Crisp & Maynard to put him arse up at every opportunity 😉

Not much on the Port front , Rozee is playing , discussion whether they play 4 talls forward , decision on whether Rockliff is in the 22 or goes back to SANFL.

Great stuff Professor , sit tight Round 4-6 then the action begins , all out attack.
