This depends on his coach and unfortunately his coach has a horrible track record of being smart.

Logic would say that no MDB or Coniglio would push Kelly into the guts but the reaction on the weekend was to push him to a forward pocket...

Really the only explanation for playing a pure midfielder with almost no forward skills as a forward is injury, the glimmer being that the coach is so incompetent provides another option there but neither of those are good reasons to keep him...

I don't see Jiath as a premium, Ridley isn't going to be cheaper than he is now for a month at best. Basically you'd need to think Jiath can make you another 150k at a minimum, definitely possible, or that he's going to be a keeper from this point.

If these are your first trades then the gamble is possibly a lot more worth taking.

I'm actually genuinely surprised how many people started without Ridley but I wont complain, it's giving all my mistakes some coverage!
I remember you saying in pre season that ridley is a triple threat or something along those lines are there any other defenders you think that have this quality that ridley has or is he in a league of his own fantasy wise?

Kosi or Sharp to Chapman: leaning Sharp as feels a bit limiting that someone will only play if they’ve finished their homework.

Second will depend on rookie second gamers, a few looked quite good.

Neale and Oliver falling. Nice.

J Clark and Bruhn out to Jiath and Impey?

I have $189k burning a hole in my pocket.

In the past I would not have considered such a trade, however the following are concerns:
1. J Clark has not fired, and feels a borderline 22 selection in the Cats, with risk of being a med sub;
2. Impey seems a possible 95 average, a good role and no risk for med sub - this is sufficient for F6 later in season, and for now removing a 40-50pt rookie from the field. All this for 288k.

Jiath I've only seen snippets of. Seems a lively sort. Is his start fool's gold though?

How about Chapman instead of Jiath?

Like many conscious of burning through trades but will need to replace Young. Thinking of putting Laird back and bringing in Impey. It was a toss up last round to replace Dow 👏 with Impey or Atkins and of course I went Atkins 😟. May have to bring in Chapman if Highmore, Sharp and Kosi miss this week. Kosi out over Sharp for me - like his flexibility.

I missed Ridley and see him as a must have so I’ll burn one last sideways and likely go Dow & Daniel to Chapman & Ridley.
I have all the other must haves, some of which are scoring like premiums, so I’m comfortable using another trade to go hard early.
I'm all for getting Ridley but sacrificing Daniel would make me nervous

Need to move on Dow, and my two bench donuts in Def. Kozi will stay unless dropped, so that means Dow to Chapman via Sharp into the mids.
Donuts then spread across 2 lines rather one, and one giant spud removed and $106k in the warchest. 27 trades left to mange the upgrades, and its cow fattening time.

OUT: Philipps (76.0)
IN: Walker (139.7)

Would have obviously preferred to do this last round and this trade has its critics but I see it as a massive upgrade. Tex is a chance of being a keeper and at worst he'll make some more cash and then I'll trade him. Nth, Fre, Haw over the next three weeks should see that cash generation trending upwards.

If Highmore isn't named, I'll give some thought to Kosi or a dropped rookie to Chapman as I can't stomach having to play Kosi on field again.

That's something I am looking at doing too, we get to wait till Sunday to pull the trigger on that one too with both team sheets getting released at the same time. Do we know if Highmore was injured or was the fall guy for the round 2 loss

Listed as omitted but wondering whether he was rested as wasn't even an EMG. No injury concerns.

Think I have to miss Chapman. Waterman and Robertson could be two must have rookies next week, if that becomes the case
I can only imagine how many trades people have burned through (seems a lot this year) with so many people already having done 4 or more after this round.

Anyone want to comment on Chapmans JS over the next month?

Two choices for me to work through over the next couple of days, with $621k in the kitty after some half-finished corrections last week:

1. P Hunter to Grundy, and one of Sharp/Kosi to Chapman (3 rookie ruck line is starting to expose me, given increasing reliability of Grawndy each week, also solves an otherwise donut in defence
2. Sharp/Kosi up to Ridley, and then either settle on the one trade, or consider T Phillips sideways to Tex/Impey

Will consider all feedback!

Does Hunter to Grundy push Flynn to the bench?
