Had been planning on getting Oliver in this week, but Neale turning the corner looks like a better in for me this week, thought Oliver had a better record against the tigers than he actually does. Neale fits my byes better, has a lower BE, but I doubt I can get both over two weeks sadly.

Gulden > Neale
Berry > Jones via Laird
44k & 24 trades

Going Neale over Oliver gives me a better chance of getting in Sidebottom next week who looks to building up a bit more and benefiting from Adams absence.

Trading in Waterman last week has really dented my belief in oressure forwards but Collingwood's McCreery has a great runof games. Essendon, Gold Coast and then North. Surely he can snag a few goals?!

Josh Kelly - those that own him what are your plans.

He can't hold a premium mid spot in that role IMO, score on the weekend benefited from scaling otherwise looked like a sub 90 score when I checked. Not sure I can stomach holding him longer if given a chance to move to Oliver/Fyfe.
Jelly to Gawn last week worked well. :)
The noise coming from GWS would suggest trade. He doesn't even look like a forward keeper.

I'm holding, using my trades to get rookies of the field first.
Even thou he's going to lose some cash, he has the first bye, R12.
If he hasn't turned it around by then would be a good person to sideways trade through the byes.

The longer Gawn isn’t in my team I fear the worse my season will go... having the Rd 14 bye as well I feel like it’s almost now or never, break in case of emergency type scenario.
His draw doesn't even show a breather for non owners for a while.
What has happened to ruck coaching? Look at the GWS pensioner doing a job on opposing ruckmen. I don't understand why there is such a lack of quality in the AFL.

They are hard to find, and it seems more about development than any other position, especially the modern style ruck. Probably no surprise the Saints went hard after Draper even though he hadn't played a senior game and had just done a knee.

Even against the Pies the week before he was tracking for a 70 before a late goal took his score to 90. I think it's time to cut your losses with him, I don't want to trade him out but I think we have enough of a sample size now to know that his role isn't going to be changing. In a way we have been a bit fortunate with his late game heroics in the last couple of games, otherwise he would have plummeted to sub $500k by now. It's still not too big an outlay to go up to someone like Oliver.

I've got 26 trades left and am treating Impey and Ziebell as keepers so I think I can afford to make this trade, am considering it to be an upgrade at this point, I'm losing too many points to the teams with Oliver/Steele.

Thanks for asking the question, I'm a sad owner as well.

I'm looking at it and trying to work out a reasonable floor for his scoring from here for the rest of the season. Worst case 85 maybe? Maybe go glass half-full and give him 90, with a best case of 110 if he gets some mid minutes again. Maybe that's too optimistic, but after 5 rounds with a rubbish role he has still managed to scrape past 90 every game so that's something I guess.

If he indeed tracks at 90 then he's only got about another $80k to slowly lose (ie. most of the damage is done already). That's bad but not a complete disaster. On the other hand, $50k and a trade gets you 20-25 pts a week more in Oliver, which is 340 points overall. Probably worth it, just.

My main reason for holding is that I can't afford another 'luxury' swap. I've resigned myself to the fact that if I get to a full side with Jelly at M8 and have trades to spare, that's when I'll be allowed to move him on :(.

Having the 1st bye is not ideal for a potential sideways or 'slingshot' scenario through the MBRs.

I have him too plus a few others who I would ideally like to rid from my team, however, I've committed myself to playing the long game for this season so will continue to hold until he gets injured.

Loving the look of Maynard this week. Broke out last year playing a fantastic role in Howe's absence. At 450k I think he's absolute value. A great option for those looking to offload Clark in the backlines imo. Brayshaw the obvious candidate for those stuck with him in the midfield too.

P.S. How nice is it finally being able to do a proper 1-up 1-down upgrade...

How long do you think he will keep the role for?
