Cheers boys, sounds good! Parfitt can wait on the bench for another week.

After trading Parfitt to Parsons, the only way I can avoid a donut this week is by trading Eddy to Black.
Feels like a wasted trade which doesn't net me much but no other way me reckons.

I'm now considering a double downgrade - who is the better option out of EVW and Black? Black seems to have better scoring potential but EVW prob better JS.

Tempted to go Rocky this week even with his massive BE
I'd wait just in case there is a reason he has dropped off so much in the last two weeks. Reason being an injury. If he drops to $550K everyone will jump on and so you will have paid $60K more than the masses.

Gee, I'm scared to trade Beams out now after the iffy injury reports on Roo. Could be 1-5 weeks (considering byes lol).

It's Beams though.

His history suggests that a minimum 2 week injury will turn out to be a lot longer.

I'm trading him this week and won't have any regrets if he comes back after 2 weeks.

A bit more on that quote from the H/Sun

"Beams will miss at least the next two weeks with a quad injury.

The new captain has averaged 28 disposals a game this year but Fagan said every team lost key players at some stage through the season.

"It's a loss for any AFL team that loses its captain," he said.

"All teams have players out, the Swans have got good players out too.

"We can't walk around lamenting the fact our captain's out, we've just got to make the best of what we've got.

"He was very positive and he was running very strongly at training last night, so we're not sure how long he's going to be (out), but going by that, that was fairly promising."

I agree with your comments on Beams but I have so many other problems with my team this week to even deal with Beams this week.

It also seems the Cat's line up isn't settled. All 3 emergencies will fly. Bloody headache if you need to trade in Black and Parsons before final teams

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...7/news-story/a65345a49a0b0c563b58bc739d064fa8
After being beaten by Collingwood, Geelong coach Chris Scott is adamant that Patrick Dangerfield is 100 per cent fit, but could there be another change in line for the Cats?

All three of Geelong’s emergencies have travelled to the Gold Coast and a change could be on the horizon.

Scott said Zac Smith could well still come in and play alongside Rhys Stanley, maintaining that playing them both in the same side isn’t out of the question.

“Even this week. We’re keeping that option up our sleeve to play both those ruckmen this week and into the future,” he said.

All three Cats emergencies - Menegola, Smith, Stewart - have travelled to GC, with Chris Scott saying he wants to "maintain flexibility".

— Lauren Wood (@LaurenA_Wood) May 5, 2017
All three travelled after being named as “omitted” due to what Scott said is an inflexible part of the rules.

“Given that we’ve still got 24 hours, we want to maintain that flexibility (on our team),” he said.

“Sam’s still a good chance to play for us. Unfortunately the rules dictate that we don’t have any flexibility with the way we pick the side on a Thursday night. If we do choose to manage a few players … and then we decide to play them, if we’ve already named them ‘managed’, they can’t play. Don’t read too much into the fact that players are named ‘omitted’.”

Dangerfield played most of the last quarter against Collingwood up forward but has no fitness issue, Scott said.

“Yep (he’s 100 per cent), he’s been picked. He’s feeling good and he’s looking forward to playing well,” he said.

You are right. Who's to say he doesn't miss with another quad injury down the track or worse do it in game.

Bit of a pickle. If I trade Beams, I can wait til the cat's final lockout to ensure Black actually does play (considering Scott's iffy presser comments regarding the make up of the side). Or if I want to hold Beams, I could trade Roughy to Grundy instead, but that would mean getting Black before the Cat's lockout. If Black is a late out for some twisted reason, it'll mean a donut.

I had traded Beams to Black via Steele to the Mids (for 1 week only), but now with all the Geelong doubt, I can't afford to do that.
Steele playing tonight, so that means I have to go back to the drawing board, again!
The carpet between the couch and the drawing board is looking quite thin these days!

If you had traded in Dahl a couple of weeks back, you could've swung him instead of Steele...:p

Can't you just switch your FD or an MF rookie to the forward line for Steele? Switch the rookie back when you need to trade Beams.

OK as the self proclaimed President of the "I have Mumford in my team" club I thought I'd share some of my reasoning in bringing him in after Gawn went down four weeks ago.

Firstly I think he will have a good season, plus GWS will have a good season and thus he will benefit. Secondly I am so far behind everyone that I wanted a POD and considering everyone's immediate reaction is he is injury prone he would thus remain a POD.

So now for the elephant in the room, his injury record. I decided to only look at his GWS record, and ignorantly wipe his previous record away. He missed a block of games in 2014 and 2015, but significantly for mine they were a block of games, not random one or two weekers and in both seasons he also played in a block of consecutive games. In 2016 he only missed one game, against a weakened Essendon. Interestingly he even completed half a training session mid week before the game, so I think it was just as much of an opportunity to have a rest for a niggle.

Anyway my reasoning is that if he does get injured it's likely to be a long term thing so I'd trade him out. Sure the risk is high, but most ruckmen seem to have a greater risk of injury than other players. So I've jumped on the ride! I must admit it's fun watching him smash into other player!

Anyway I look forward to handing in my presidency when he goes down this week now that I've made this post!
You've got my vote! I mean, like every good president you've promised so much, and will no doubt deliver. What's the worst that can happen?

In: Mummy, Parsons

This is why I'm not so keen on Black. His JS isn't great given Geelong's depth (also have McCarthy, S.Selwood, Cowan, Kolodjashnij to return). Parsons is more of a like for like with Lang, Murdoch etc. so I think his JS is better, but I think Black will be in and out. Matchups may also dictate his selection more so than Parsons. Worth noting also Parsons was flying on the track pre-season but got injured just before JLT. They debuted him almost as soon as he was fit so I think he will be safer. I'm thinking I'll grab EVW instead of Black.

I could do that, but then that tangles other plans. I've just got to decide between the lesser of two evils.

I have absolutely no idea what im doing this week... Rd 7 side.jpg

As you can see I am able to sufficiently cover beams and stewart with the only donut being Nankervis in the ruck.
With 158'000 in the kitty I have a couple of options

1. Trade Hampton to EVW (net the 175k) and then turn Parfitt into any premium ruck which isnt Mumford (Grundy McEvoy or Martin) and then miss out on Parsons which i dont want to do. This option then lets me cover Nanks donut.
2. Go with my original plan before the carnage and double down. Turn Hampton and Parfitt into EVW and Parsons. Net the 458k and try and chase the points I lose this week with a double upgrade next week.
3. Trade Beams to Parsons and then Parfitt to any ruck premo. Hopefully McNeice is available in the coming weeks since I will miss out on EVW.

I dont want to trade in a premium ruck because as we all know being on this thread there is no clear ruck choices. However with all the carnage this week, I feel its a great opportunity to shift up the rankings and hopefully into the top 1500 if I am able to field a full side (currently sitting 3400).

Any feedback or advice would be awesome!!
Good luck to everyone.
