Absolutely no way in my opinion.

If EVW gets dropped next week, then what?
Then you've made 140k
Fair point.

I'd rather bank on Newman getting a gig again soon and saving a trade as he hasn't been the worst Swan getting around by any stretch of the imagination.
Funnily enough i agree with Santoz but I have pulled the trigger anyway.

I've gone Newman/Beams out for Mummy/EVW instead of my initial plan of Parfitt/Beams out for Mummy/Parsons. The main reason was i don't see any defender rookies on the horizon (maybe Ryan from Freo but no idea how he's tracking) so it felt like my best chance to add a rookie defender who appears to have reasonable JS who will most likely stay at D7 for the rest of year and has the added bonus of a rd 12 bye.

My team is very M/F flexible but not so much down back so i'm confident that i'll have a bunch of downgrade options in the coming weeks to move the dead wood on before the byes.

And yet he's still been dropped...Twice. Horse giving him the Tom Mitchell treatment.

What a week to trade out a breathing body but JOM to Parsons via DPP and Beams to GAJ for me.

What mid premos are people liking the look of (already have Danger, Bont, Pendles, Fyfe, JPK)?

@ Maccas Marvels

My initial plan was Hampton to Heater , so hopefully Hampton can kick on and make some more coin.

I have Stewart and Macreadie so hopeful they might get a few more games , before I trade one for Scheer (???) in Round 10 and get Adams back in my defence.

Have you considered Berry instead of EVW ?
Cheers Herbie66, had considered Berry prior to his injury at the start of the season, just have concerns about his low scores (apart from last week). Worth strong consideration however.

What about Mcneice as a defensive downgrade option??

Newman, Parfitt for Hibberd, Parsons. I hope Hibberd will fill D6 at worst, won't find one at 402k again so may as well go with it. Be a real struggle to get 22 premiums this year, so whilst one pretty reasonable one is in the offering may as well take the gamble.

Very unsure about him. Dons have noticeably made a statement of 'resting' or 'omitting' players this year depending on the message they want to send to the player. But can't help but feeling they've gone a bit easy on McNiece with the 'rested' tag, as they're trying to give him confidence. VFL players need to feel like the deserve to be there - can easily convince themselves they aren't at the standard, and they're in a much better position to 'give up'.

Big question marks over JS for mine. I'm not confident he'll be there when I need him and him having a Rd 13 bye makes him a no go for me as I've already got Adams, Laird, Hodge, Otten, Hampton and a donut in Smith.

Horse doesn't know what he is doing - TMitch still with the Swans and I bet they wouldn't have lost 6 in a row ;)

Similarly Sam Docherty got the Vossed treatment up at Brisbane when he was a very promising rookie.
Think it might have been 2013 or 2014 season.

Would like to hear peoples take on

Opt 1 - Marchbank --> 493k max D4 - ie Simmo/Lloyd/Tuohy(Rd 12)/TMcD/Hibberd
Opt 2 - Stewart --> EVW
Opt 3 - Newman --> EVW

Opt 1 = means most likely 1 or 2 down next week, otherwise 1 down/1 up with a D5 in next week which is not ideal. Missed bringing in H Shaw (Rd13).

Who knows *** Newman is going to do in Rounds 8-10. Do people think Harry Taylor will go forward again or is Black likely to keep Stewart out for a long while ?

Wouldn't do 1. I'd prefer Opt 3 and bring in Shaw next week.

I know alot are staying clear of Ablett but you'd have to think he's value at 585k. If he can still score 200+ (even though Kangas rarely tag) it still shows he's a worthy consideration to be traded in, especiall given how other premiums like JPK & Hannerbery haven't hit the greatest heights. Gazz actuall 34k cheaper than his starting price too so i'll be trading him in (for Parfitt). Hannerberry also good value and Dusty too imo.

Feel the same... Traded out jom too. Gonna drop money by this form... Went to parson

Second trade also trade out beams... But went the other way... Went Vickers Willis.

I now have 1108k to upgrade next week. Just praying for a score that is not so low. Full team with only bench in the backline

Now you've got me thinking. Damn it.

Not sure I trust Hibberd's hamstrings, or that he might hit the wall at some point. Still he might be worth the risk.

I'm considering waiting a week on EVW (have other issues to fix).

If EVW scores 50 he will go up to 155k. If Newman doesn't get a game next week and EVW does I'll do the trade next week. Is that a bad move?

Personally I think people don't use this strategy enough, great move if it doesn't restrict you too much $$$ wise in the next 3-4 weeks and you can usually sort that out by adapting on the fly anyway.

You risk EVW scoring 100 and gaining more $$$ (ie he costs 175k or so) but even that ends up being beneficial through (usually) better JS and a decent price appreciation in the first two weeks you bring him in while the ton boosts the 3 week average.
