Umpiring again has been woeful. Must be something about the Gabba at the moment. Some shocking showings from the umps there in the last few weeks.

Even if they're not from Victoria.

Of the umps tonight- Robert O'Gorman and Robert Findlay come from Victoria, while Alex Whetton is a Brisbane lad.

Yep the game is of such a quality that I spent my time researching where umps came from rather than watching the game....

The umpiring this season has been woeful. Having said that they should not be given instructions of what to focus on each week. Just confuses the ****e out of everyone. Have one interpretation of the rules and go with it all season. At least then we get some consistency, good or bad.

IMO there is a piece if the jigsaw missing in the coaches panel at Melbourne. They remind me of Richmond before they got Carracella in there or Collingwood before they did a review and got Buckley some help. Can be really good on their day but then just go MIA and it seems a structural thing on field.
