So when are we all having a productive chat about English now that Trengove wasn't named?

Apparently is no longer the beanpole he once was. This is starting to smell a lot like Witts...

I suppose one thing going for the idea is that Darcy and Mumford are both easy to bring in if English looks like a mistake.

I’m (probably) going: Goldy, English (Bines)

I’ve considered Goldy to Darcy but it doesn’t really help me elsewhere (turns a Butters in Rocky, but...).

Thought about starting Mummy, but I’d almost rather use him as a get out jail if needed. Will aim to slingshot Goldy and upgrade English as a first priority.

He's on my list as I'm trying to avoid Grundy and Gawn but I just can't help thinking he's not a great pick. On any other line I wouldn't go near him. I have Pierce at R2 at the moment without any confidence but only because he's a lot cheaper.

I have Goldy and had it down to English, Pierce and Phillips for R2.
Passed on Phillips - could play 4 games and disappear, but boy his 98 would've just about made my week had I done it.
Pierce? Looks keen but raw, just as likely to throw up a 30 as an 80.
I've landed on English. At least has shown some scoring ability in his -cough- 7 games last year: 76, 78, 78 three games in a row which I'd just about take right now. Solo ruck, every chance to do something good right???

Carn the dogs :eek:o_O

I’ve made a late Grundy to Goldy switch but not sure I’ll be able to hold my nerve.
I just did the same. Am saving much of the bank with a view I may want to turn Moore Into the best available sub $ 400 k mid priced come rd 3 (especially after seeing Newman last night!). Also allowed me to get Oliver into M3.

I’ve actually brought him back in haha I was having too much fomo without him!

The main reasons I felt it was workable was Grundy’s interrupted season (toe iirc which presumably isn’t a great type of injury for a mobile big man), their respective draws and bye weeks (Goldy to Grundy) and what I was able to do with the loose change.

I think if there was ever a time to fade Grundy, this is it but I’m not willing to gamble myself as I’m taking enoughof them as it is.

I wonder how much the "I can sit in front of the telly and watch my shiny new toy" influences the pick?

Lol and that.

It would’ve been pretty painful viewing if I had gotten rid of him after having him in my team all preseason and he went huge. I don’t have big expectations for him tonight actually. Reckon he’ll just scrape past 100.

If Grundy keeps this up and scores under 100, is it worth dropping Goldstein for either Darcy or English. Score will only be in his cycle for 1 price drop but if he does score under 100 then maybe it’s worth considering?

Just noticed Gawn has overtaken Grundy as most selected ruck. Pretty amazing given how far vbehibd he started when the Preuss talk was on.
I understand why people have been jumping off Grundy (I did too) but I’ve been surprised at how popular Gawn has become, including from those who have Grundy (so Gawn isn’t just being brought in as the best Grundy replacement from a thin bunch).

My understanding is that Preuss is listed as a test for this week, so it’s not exactly an LTI that takes him out of the picture.
