Cheers

I could go Boak - > Danger but I have been very strong on Boak for months so he is staying πŸ˜€

Dangermouse will just have to wait for upgrade season.

9 of my 12 rookies have been confirmed to be playing so hopefully get at least 11 or 12 named.

No idea how their JS is so hopefully they play lots of games and generate lots of $$$
Exactly. It's very easy to pick rookies named round 1. However I suspect the rookies playing in Round 4 willbe a much smaller list

Hopefully the ones I have picked are the right ones , Brockman could be a issue with Wingard's return.

I am generally an expert at that , having half my bench not playing by Round 4.

Don't they say a no trade side normally outscores the winning side though fairly easily ?

Maybe should just set and forget and come back Round 23 πŸ˜€

Seriously though the more annoying thing is when 4-6 rookies debut in Round 2.

I guess we just have to make calls on what we have read and researched and back our decisions , if they are wrong try and correct them when and where we can.

Maybe the Clark , Cumming , Daniher , Dow , Impey , Martin , Tyson , Young , Ziebell etc price types will be more important than we think this season.

Looks great Herbie. Was thinking today a team along similar lines could be on the path to success with cash generation so up in the air. Only suggestion would be looking to replace Boak - any way of going say Boak to Danger? Caldwell and Jeremy Cameron would be two other good options too. Just not sure how you facilitate it (unless boak and Mr 4 games go out?)
Caldwell & Cameron have all been on my short list + Bailey , Bolton , Butters , Heeney , Phillips & Ryan.

Bailey is the one I have been ultra keen but probably too scared to start.

In the end I thought might be better to wait and see if any of the above become a must have.

Still think Danger , Dunkley , Dusty , Marshall , Sidey & Zorko will be close to the Top forwards (I guess it then comes down to aggregate v average) so hopefully by starting 3 I am 50% their.

If Daniher starts off with a bang hopefully he is easily upgraded first , Ziebell perhaps does the job until Bye time.

Ok.... based on the advice of you wonderful people, i downgraded Fyfe to Rowell to free up some cash to move Treacy to Warner and leave myself with $100k in the bank for rookie reshuffles.... or... any recommendations on where to spend it right now?

Feedback please!

Imo you're a premium short of most good sides I've seen. (Also assuming Rowell becomes a premium scorer). The only explanation I can think of is that you've picked the top-priced premiums in all lines.
Over 25% of your total cash on Lloyd, Neale, Grundy, Danger, not to mention Grundy, Laird, Dunkley and Zerrett not far behind.

Think of your starting cash as an investment; yes of course you need 2-3 SOLID captain choices (investing in points), but then you also need to find a bit of value (stocks rising, ie buy low sell high).
Cripps is a great example in your side as a value-pick. Neale/Lloyd/Gawn/Danger not so much, but a couple of them for captaincy purposes is good.

I think you need to use that 100k cash and some cash generated from downgrading the least likely of those 4-6 top-enders to grab another defensive prem, especially given Jones isn't a likely rd1 starter.

I think this is where I'm at $33,500 ITB:

Laird, Daniel, Stewart, Short, Clark, Koschitzke (Highmore, Murray)

Macrae, Merrett, Kelly, Dunkley, Heppell, Campbell, Bruhn, Poweel (Sharp, Goulden, Scott)

Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)

Danger, Phillips, Zeibell, Daniher, Dow, Warner (Rowe, Brockman)

Hard to see it getting much better unless Gawn or Grundy are dumped for a rookie R2.

Thoughts?

Hi all,

I've been a long time lurker and member and looking forward to getting a bit more involved this year!

I'm currently running with this team and would appreciate any thoughts! My real dilemma at the moment is if I downgrade Neale to Merrett and upgrade Taranto to Cripps or to Dusty to swing him fwd and go a four deep premo Mid. Some rookies pending selection.

LAIRD, DANIEL, STEWART, SHORT, Kosi, Highmore (Sharp, Murray)

NEALE, OLIVER, MACRAE, FYFE, TARANTO, Bruhn, Powell, Gulden (Jordon, Brockman, McNeil)

GAWN, GRUNDY (Flynn)

DANGER, DUNKLEY, Campbell, Warner, Smith, Rowe (Bergman, Scott)

In the bank: $12,500.00

Thanks!

Looks like 11 premiums + Heppell & Phillips so nothing wrong with it.

Murray , Sharp could be concerns , still waiting on Powell.

@Herbie66

Thanks, for the feedback.

I think at his price point Phillips has to be a keeper, I think he can hopefully score well enough to justify his place.

Murray and Sharp are concerns I agree.
Personally think he is a wait and see.

Can you Phillips - > rookie & get Bruhn/Powell to a Taranto or LDU ?

Welcome aboard

13 premiums βœ“

Defensive bench is a concern + possibly Highmore.

Is Smith Ely ?

No Ziebell , Daniher or Impey type up forward might leave you exposed.

Lot of love for your team, based upon likes, but you don't have much cash and Gawn and Grundy are a couple of the most consistent scoring options in the league (and most expensive to get accordingly). It's a lot of money required to replace both of them from complete rookie priced rucks and you may not be generating much cash from the entire rookie pool given the shallow draft and lack of exposed form for most. Sound premium selections though but 13 is pretty standard, albeit perhaps more speculative types like Taranto (in other teams) may be hit or miss. Kudos for trying something different.
The round hasn't started yet, lol. I'm normally a set and forget ruck guy with VC and C on Grawndy. I'm getting cool feet a little and may switch back to one of Gawn or Grundy yet. I don't usually take big risks with my starting side. Cheers for your thoughts.
