Watched him closely, even as a non-owner. 100% right about being in the right spot at the right time. I made a point not to check SC scores until half time as I at least wanted to enjoy one half of a game this season. I was thinking his score could go either way but my gut told me it would be up there at half time and I think it was around 55. But like you said, those points fell into his lap, tbh I wouldn't have been surprised to see his score around 30 either. He really does have poor decision making skills which IMO come from him being concious of the physicality in the contest. He has speed away from the contest, but it's like he just can't wait to get the feck out of there and not get hit.
There's a few to come back in IIRC, certainly Williams who will also take more CBA's from Dow, Richmond are typically a hard team to score midfield points against aren't they,, but hard to see upside in Dow.
There's cash tied up in him and the first couple of rounds are made for corrections, I have no problems burning 4 trades over the next few weeks, I'll likely move Cripps on, didn't like what I saw there, but not sure who, I'm really interested to see how Phillips goes as the new format does look made for him.

Not sure why Carlton would take out the best midfielder in the first half and not just rest him forward, but play him forward for most of the 2nd half. My best guess is that they just got done by a combination of the interchange cap, round 1 legs and their frenetic gamestyle, that they actually didn't have the rotations to rest him on the bench (ended up with 91% TOG). Given he spent no time forward in the first half and looked completely spent like most of Carlton in the 2nd half, points to this not being part of the gameplan. Will be interested to see how Carlton adjust next week, while their gamestyle is great to watch I'm not sure its sustainable.
