So which one are you picking??
I had both until I tinkered Gawn out and changed Jones to Fullarton for risk management purposes (I like Jones more without that condition).
Structurally now I only need Jordon who I've taken over McNeil, Brockman and a few of the more expensive types but my structure only has 2 midfield rookies onfield right now and lower rookie count in general so have gone for Jordon, who if he holds his spot should make the most cash which I need.
If you've got a couple of extra rookies to me then I'd probably play it safe with Jones. Bergman would be the forward equivalent of Jordon for mine, if he holds his spot he's in the top couple of rookies for scoring potential and role and he's either going to do that or not play so he's all or nothing, he looks exceptional as a player though and I'm very tempted by him!
Any thoughts on Brockman's JS?
As a neutral, it's his spot to lose. He's easily their most dynamic of the small forward group and the Hawks need that. Consistency probably going to be an issue and the role isn't great for fantasy purposes in a side that looks weak on paper but I think he'll get a couple of weeks to prove he's not at AFL level and from what I've seen he looks like he is at AFL level. I always like the job security for players who are proving they don't belong rather than having to earn the spot every week proving they do. It's a subtle difference but can be a big one.
Hard to argue he's a must with Clark only 70k above and 3 guys at 60k below available but I still think he's and Butt are the best of the rookies if you're starting a rookie on field and just can't afford Clark to avoid that scenario no matter what.
He's definitely the rookie people are planning around and avoiding who has the potential to be the top scoring rookie, his role is actually really good and his endurance and kicking skills combined with being a legitimate marking target should suit the way the game has been played.
The gods are really trying to save us this year.
Or are they just pushing me towards other mistakes like Bergman by adding a little to his JS that I already know is absolutely under pressure from Hartlett!
I might be completely blinded by my Dons bias but I'm still big on Coxy's scoring potential. Haven't thought about not starting him on field.
As a neutral, I'm not quite as confident as you but I don't think it's bias. I do think he's still got the potential for 35 type games unfortunately but I think he's also got 80+ games in him. Looking at last nights game is a pretty perfect example of what can happen to wings, Treloar and Daicos get stuck on one wing and score 30 and 63 each while the other wing is just flooded with points because the ball just stays there. Cox actually copped this a bit in the AAMI game.
Cox definitely one of the better rookies in my eyes, whether he can translate that to scoring is the challenge. JS and role are both A+ in this group of rookies though.
