Ive got a 9 point start on you .
I figure that if we have no way of winning, we should at least have a reason not to lose. Full disclosure- Im gonna do an awful microsoft paint job on that magpie, maybe just a complete hitjob on Collingwood in general. Or worse. There will be tears. Lift your game or feel the burn!
Given I am still aiming to win the entire competition , bring it on Pookus 😀

Give it your best

Am I the only one willing to by-pass Dan Christian?
Partly it's his age: he's 38+. T20 doesn't necessarily test his endurance but surely his reflexes?
Partly it's his limited cicket and poor-ish form. In the IPL, his last tournament, his batting was poor - 9 games, 7 innings, 14 runs off 23 balls with one NO - and his bowling limited - 9 games, 16.4 overs for 4 wickets at a 9.3ER
His estimated IPL scores with latest first:
10; 45 (1 wkt, 2c, dnb); 89 (2wkt, 4.66ER, 2c); 11 (1c); 23 (1wkt, dnb); 3; 16 (1c); 22 (2c); 14 (1c) = 233/9 = 25.89 av.
Note that his catches netted him 90 points.
Admittedly, Christian is likely to play a more central role in the BBL than he did in the IPL but even so......

Other thing is, Hurricanes have the bye in round 7, so don’t want too many of those also. Starting to think 6-7 might be the number for the round 6 DGR

Wade, Short, McDermott and Ellis/Meredith

Lynn, Mujeeb and maybe Steketee. Though I’m still holding Duckett so will have to play him as well
It’s round 8 bye for the Canes, so you have another round to hold them.

Current team with 4k in the bank. I’m trying to hold Maxwell on my bench and trade out Russell, Stoinis and Zampa and looking to bring in Mills, Inglis/Dorff/Tye and one of Hales/Lamichhane. Unfortunately the outs don’t allow me to grab 3 Scorchers that I’d like unless I wanted to take a punt on one of the cheaper ones. Main question is deciding between Hales or Lamichhane? Hales with a decent match up this week or Lamichhane to start prepping for the next double?
So long as Lami is definitely one of the Hurricanes you want, I’d go with him. Better form and has an upcoming DGR. With Hales, I’d be inclined to wait for a score to create some impetus to trade him in.

It’s a tough one, as there are a few options this round that we can pick up for the 100-125k range that are either on the way up or almost bottomed out.

Bazley - double coming soon, bowled at the death last match and is yet to really fire with the bat. Could be really useful.

DC - ex premium due to limitation of role. Could easily pull a finch and keep struggling in a SC sense, but it takes only 1-2 games to get him going again.

Lamichhane - been bowling very well without luck. Could easily take a 3 fa in the next two matches and make 10-20k to cause difficulty with the salary cap.

Hales - we all know what he can do, just hasn’t fired a shot. Definitely overdue and has the heat at the Gabba, could be tonight he gets his season going.

Edit: you could pick any of these up this round and I don’t believe you can go wrong. There are just too many at the moment to grab all at once otherwise I’d probably find a way to fit them in.

Hey mate

I know you don't like accepting my advice in the past 😀

BUT

If Finch returns (use him as Bat 5) and just leave Cooper & Hughes on your bench.

I own Hughes as well and see little point in "wasting" money in upgrading him.

Only 2 more rounds after this Round where teams are on Byes so you may not even need him as cover.

4 Scorchers sets you up nicely for Round 4.

I would be using Curran , DreRuss & SOK's dollars to get D Short & Wade (before they both rise) and then if $ allow Mills or Bazley or Renshaw or Lamichhane.

Hales definitely is the value option for Round 5.

Up to you

Only 3 rounds down , plenty of time to turn things around.
Far out I forgot about the upcoming Canes DGW. Considering that Short and Wade will rise like you mentioned I will go early on them.
Hopefully Finch gets out of that commentary box soon because I’m gonna need to rely on him
Thanks for the help

Round 6

Relying on Finch myself

With any luck you could get Cooper to Hales next round for $ 40k ish , if not Renshaw will still be cheapish.

Zampa possibly around a $ 100k in 2 games time as well.

Team looks ok , few tweaks each round and you should be competitive

Good luck with it.

Its tough when the season is over this early and there is not much to play for. I noticed that you, myself and the illustrious @Herbie66 are all in that bottom 4, about 35 points between us all. I propose a gentleman's wager amongst the triumvirate, whoever loses at seasons end has to change his profile picture to something the winner decides, it stays up until the first sherrin is kicked.

Its okay if you are scared, lads....
I accept this little wager and look forward to picking your profile pic

mmmm and to think you are one of my favourite posters , maybe not anymore 😉
Well, if you can come up with a better image suggestion than what Pookus mentioned I might change my mind, but his suggestion sounds the best so far.

I'm sure whoever wins the bet will come up with something good for the loser in any case. Looking forward to seeing it!

My brain has about 0.0% when it comes to creativity , so I am and will be at a complete loss.
