Doing better than the practice round haha!

Initially thought the rule change to only apply the best score was a good change but now wondering if cumulative scoring might’ve worked better for me haha!!

As a little side comp to Beg2Differ's great golf game, I thought it would be interesting to see how the scoreboard looked if we were playing "Eclectic".
For those that don't know, Eclectic Golf is where you play a number of Rounds but only your best score on each hole, over the period of the Eclectic competition, counts towards your final Eclectic score.
As an example, we are playing 9 matches/rounds of golf in this final series. If you manage to score a -4 for the first hole (ie first player listed in that match), then you get -4 as your score for that hole in the Eclectic score card, and you can't improve it. However, you might have scored no better than a 0 on say the 3rd hole (3rd listed player), in the first 8 matches/rounds. That means you are currently sitting on a score of 0 coming into the Grand Final, and have one last opportunity to score a -1, -2, or -4 on that hole, to improve your overall Eclectic score.
You might think that over the 9 Rounds it will just reflect the regular overall Leaderboard, but sometimes it doesn't!
Let's have a look.

Bomber18 is leading, as he does on the regular leaderboard, but Diabolical is up running 2nd. Diabolical is currently =11th on the regular leaderboard! Diabolical has a great chance to leapfrog B18, as he has a +1 sitting as his best score on the 5th hole.

Now what would happen if we looked at the "Reverse Eclectic"? ie. your worst score on each individual hole.

B18 is leading again, but Diabolical has fallen from 2nd to =19th!!!
All is Wells, who is 5th on the regular leaderboard, and 13th on the Eclectic leaderboard, jumps up to 2nd on this leaderboard.

It should be pointed out, that B18 has a -2 on the 4th hole on this leaderboard.
Yes, the worst score he has recorded so far on the 4th hole is -2!!!!!
What a Mr. Smartypants!

I have a full set of +2's across the board, and can only "boost" my score by Captaining a double bogey.
Crowls also has a full set of +2's, but additionally, he has managed to Captain one of them!

I reckon I might be a shot of top scoring in this reverse eclectic model. Only one +2 to go, and as I'm using random captains I'll almost surely add a few +4's.

I usually seem to pull a few fluke scores out which will possibly prevent me from last overall.

Nice to see everybody turned up to the clubhouse early and eagerly await their final round for the weekend.

Note that with Nick Hind not playing, Dylan Shiel comes in for Essendon as the emergency. It also means that anybody that nominated Hind as Captain will get Shiel. Remember you can resubmit selections if you wish.

For the avoidance of any doubt if Essendon happens to have another of their nominated players as a late out I will use the Bulldogs emergency (Johannisen) so we still have 8 players for the game.

Finally it is not too late if anybody else wants to jump in if they wish. Just post in this thread and I will add you to the entry form. Right now the default score would be +7 however given only the lowest score for the weekend counts a good score in this game would put you right in contention.
