One event to go, Il Lombardia, and it will be held this weekend. You will make three selections in this race, however you can only choose one of the following five riders among your picks (I'm probably pretty much just identifying four riders you won't be able to pick):

Congratulations to @Dravid, who was dominant throughout this competition, leading pretty much all year, who takes out the overall win for 2024!
Thank you very much to everyone who participated at any stage this season, and especially to those who stuck it out all season long. I hope you enjoyed it, despite this being probably the most predictable season ever in terms of race winners, I think the changes for this season have made the competition a lot more competitive and varied. I enjoyed hosting it (despite time restrictions), and hopefully I can keep things a bit more up to date next year with what is hopefully looking like a much quieter work schedule.
At this stage, I'll be keeping the same event schedule as this year (except for the Olympics of course) for next season. The competition will kick off in early January for anyone tipping for the Australian National Championships - in Perth in 2025 rather than the traditional Buninyong circuit, and the NZ championships likely soon after, with the main competition starting again in March. I am always open to feedback though on anything that you feel could do with a change, big or small.
If anyone wants me to send them a reminder when the new season commences, simply say so. This includes anyone who may want to join for the new season - this competition will work with any amount of people, and the more competition the better. As always, anyone can drop in or out at any point, you don't need to commit to picking every race throughout the season.
Hope to see most of you back again in 2025!

I forgot to post these earlier. Final dashboards for the 2024 season (for those who competed in the last few events). Scores/ranks are reset on these for the start of the 2025 season, you can see the final 2024 scores in post 496 above.
All achievements can be won again in 2025, as none of them rely on results from the Olympics (or National Championships). I'll explain the five new ones since my last update in the next post.

Unlocked by selecting the winner of the World Championships Road Race amongst your three selections.
Awarded to: Bonaparte, chels, Dravid, Ironhawk, Old Big 'Ead, tso, Woosie
his race is a race on a road for a rainbow jersey, so it was an easy pick to choose Rainbow Road from the Mario Kart series for this image (I think it is the DS version this image is from, but I believe it's in pretty much every version). This is basically the grand final track in those games, again fitting for what is basically the grand final of cycling.

This image is another of my rubbish Paint efforts, but I couldn't find anything suitable that I liked. It probably deserves better, but it's pretty clearly the world and a winning medal, I think it gets the point across that you can look at it and figure out what it's for.

Il Lombardia either starts or ends around Lake Como each year. Very pretty area. If you are a newcomer next season, or didn't participate in this one this year, like many other races - just pick Pogacar if he's in the race - he seems to like winning here.

You can do brilliantly or terribly all year and still get this one, it's a small reward for anyone who is willing to stick with this for the whole year. I know this image represents four seasons, and the events we pick for are just spread over the March-October period (approximately - it may change some years), but it's close enough.

Unlocked by being ranked at the top of the leaderboard at the end of any year.

I think we all knew who was winning this one from a fair way out this year. Only one person per year will be winning this one (unless there is an unlikely tie in scores), so it's quite exclusive. Definitely one to be proud of if you can earn this one!
That's it for 2024. I'll most likely continue with the 2025 season here, however if not, I'll post a link in this topic to the new one. Hope to see at least some of you come back for another year in 2025, and would love to see some new participants as well. It's an easy sport to pick up on as to who the main chances will be in any given race, but there's always surprise results to keep things interesting.
