Does that mean we get the same flexibility in contracts, as they are 2CP? I suspect yes per point 1 below.

Are all other draftees 2 years at the set price?

Is there any window to alter contracts like you would on an AFL list?

Is the latest rule document pinned to post 1 in this thread? I am sure I was told I could not do point 6 when I traded, so suspect not.

It seems to be about the only way I can manage cap space after Friday?

Contract Structuring
On going - The structure of contract must be determined at the time of acquiring the player/extending into a new contract. The structure can not be altered after this time.

1) Contract structuring can be done only on players where their has been a bidding process (FA and RFA) and a rookies 2nd contract where a loading has been applied.
2) The salaries of 2nd contracts can be taken as an average across the contract years or frontend/backend loaded. Under the loading structure the salaries are predetermined via formula, which will be published prior to the 2nd contract period.
3) FA and RFA contracts can be taken as an average across the contract years or frontend/backend loaded. The structure is determined by the team. Salaries cannot fall below nor exceed 50% of the average yearly salary in any one season.
4) If a player retires early, or is delisted, from the AFL, teams must pay the salary which is over the average, at the time of signing/drafting, for the reminder of the players contract.
5) Teams trading a player may pay a portion of the remaining salary. This must be determined at the time of trading.
6) Teams receiving a player in a trade may restructure the traded players salary. This must be determined at the time of trading.

Can someone jump in to my team in the PreSeason Draft worksheet and let me know what I have done wrong in the Free Agent 2021 salary section?

Cells is auto formatted red, which I presume is an error. Just trialling a few scenario's with front ending contracts, believe it is within the 50% increase.

You've done nothing wrong, it's a legacy formula from the initial draft which has no relevance now.

I have checked it and it looks OK to me.

Not sure, @KLo30 might have to check that cell, because all teams where the contract value is not straight line for those purchased players have the same issue as per the team lists for Creme De La Creme and Dagobah Immortals

Point 1 below
Are all other draftees 2 years at the set price?
No, only those who are rookies or priced as rookies. The other FAs you can set the years, but not alter prices.
Is there any window to alter contracts like you would on an AFL list?
No.
Is the latest rule document pinned to post 1 in this thread? I am sure I was told I could not do point 6 when I traded, so suspect not.
No. You can not do point 6.

Thanks @KLo30 amazing effort as always.

Can I suggest we add the latest rules doc to post 1, easiest post to source any changes/updates. Suspect rules doc doesn't change too often, so can just be updated when required.

Hopefully last clarification from me then. What constitutes priced as rookies - anything under 200k? 220k?

Jamarra $212k is priced as a rookie. Is it anything under him, as he is top draftee price?

Jarman Impey $217,840 for example, 2 year set contract or unlimited years (I know he isn't getting to me at pick 25, however he is a good yardstick to test this on).

When I get a chance to start setting up the SCSUL Hub on SCS in the general discussion area, I’ll include a post for key document links such as the rules doc.

Number 1 AFL Draft pick and under.

Therefore, Jarman Impey can be given 1 - 10 years of your choosing.

Currently the draftable players are in alphabetical order. I'm going to put them in price order (highest to lowest) for the draft.

That will make the first couple of rounds quicker, as most selections will probably be the high draft picks, and later on when money might be getting tight teams will be able to search by price bracket. As usual, if you type their name in the cell they will come up if they are still available.

At the deadline of Friday Midnight, teams need to have done the following:
1. Structured their Free Agent and Restricted Free Agent contracts
2. Determined who of their 2nd Contract Players they will sign and structure their contracts
3. Determine if they will delist any players (post in this thread)

Live trading of draft picks (only) is allowed on Draft Day. This feature is yet to be added to the doc.

Any late interest in Answerth?

I fully expected to be re-signing him, but now it looks like I won't.

Does appear to have a groin niggle at the moment. 19 and 7 games @ c. 60 the last two years, last year (basis for 2C pricing) being a dip to 56.7.

Creme de la Creme would like to announce that Jez McLennan will not be offered a contract this season and is available in exchange for a 2022 draft pick ranging from RD6 to RD8.
Jez does not go home empty handed, as he receives a complimentary t-shirt for his services to the club.

I have started to get the SCS Ultimate League Hub up and going, head to the following link...

https://supercoachscores.com/forums/supercoach-scores-ultimate-league.15/

You'll see I've transferred over some of my clubs 2020 posts from the old forum to keep as club history.

Hopefully over the next few days post tomorrows draft we can get other teams creating their team threads. I suggest ensuring that you have your team and draft selections held in the first post and update when necessary so other coaches can reference if need be.

There's a Media/Street Talk thread created for people to post press releases and other content.

And we'll obviously have the fixture, results and ladder, etc in that second of the forum, as well as a weekend in-round discussion thread once the season is underway.

DRAFT PROCEDURES

A few things teams need to be aware of for tonight's draft.
1. Teams will have up to 2 minutes to complete their selection.
2. Teams can ask for an additional 3 minutes if they are involved in a live trade of draft picks.
3. If you already have a trade of draft picks locked in, to save time tonight, you may now put them into the Draft doc. Therefore, we can (try) get them in before we start. If it's conditional then obviously wait until the appropriate time.

@Philzsay will post Zoom details closer to the 8pm AEDT start.

NB. Clearing of your cache/restarting your computer will help ensure the doc loads correctly and quickly.
