Yes but his manager said he was very happy at Freo
That is manager speak for “match Geelong’s offer and he stays”
Heh, I imagine I can also be very happy in my job.
If someone is desperate for a change, they would have to offer to significantly increase my happiness... :p:cool:

He's a gun when he's fit.

But he's had calf issues this year that he played through, clearly affecting his power and burst from the stoppage and then wrecked a hamstring.

Feels somewhat iffy as a pick now?
Still scoring at premium levels the last two weeks (small sample size to be fair) even with diminished burst of pace right now and on a losing side, give him a good pre-season he'll be a 120 ppg player imo. Surely North improve next season as well.

FWD line is going to be very interesting next year. Nearly all of the good premiums will lose FWD eligibility.
  • Macrae might keep
  • Keays might keep
  • Bolton will keep
  • Jackson will keep. If Darcy does end up going to Geelong, which I highly doubt, he could go 110+ as a number 1 ruck.
  • Hobbs probably keeps. I think he could be a very good value premium.
  • Smith might keep. Very underpriced for what he can do.
  • Then there’s all the keys fwds and Greene/Heeney types
The strategy is probably going to be the polar opposite of this year when most of us loaded up on Dunks, Taranto, Rozee and Gulden. We’ll be keeping a close eye on who gets FWD DPP in round 6 and 12.

Harley Reid is very likely to have MID/FWD status and will be picked in basically everyone’s team. Could potentially be a keeper if all goes well. Jed Walter, Nick Watson, Zane Duursma and Nate Caddy should all go first-round (elevated price) or early second-round, not sure if they’ll be any good though. Daniel Curtin might get FWD status and he should score ok. I’m sure second or third year 123k options will arise. Even some 117k late draft picks with good preseasons.

Haven’t had a look at who could be good mid-price options just yet.

Some more cheapie players who under-performed or had injuries or could benefit from a trade:

NicNat?!
Pat Lipinski
Nick Hind
Sam Berry
K Coleman
Matt Crouch
Zac Williams
Menegola
Deven Robertson
I feel like about half of my keeper league side fits within these categories! Plenty of sub games too.

A few potential candidates:

Jordon Sweet
Jeremy Sharp
Toby Mclean
Elijah Hollands
James Jordon
George Hewett
Will Phillips
Brandon Ellis
Tom de Koning
Jack Billings
Sam Flanders
Nick Haynes

Bailey Smith if he's a forward. Is he up for trade though? Would need to be at a new club.
Mills, will be cheap, but possibly cooked as a SC stud.
Steele, ditto
Walsh and Cripps have some appeal, but who knows what the hell is going on at Carlton.
Touk will probably be most teams' first picked.

Question for you all:
If you were starting up a new keeper league next year, who would be your top picks in each line?
I think players 26-27 years old is a rough 'cap' for top picks, as you want at least 4-5 good years from them to be worth a top pick imo.

I think some good ones (off the top of my head) would be Nick Daicos, Errol Gulden, Connor Rozee, Zac Butters, Tom Green, Chad Warner...
Who else do you like?

Would anyone have a fringe player at their club who they believe could have a much improved or breakout year next year? Anyone worth keeping an eye on next year?

As a Tiger fan, I think that Tyler Sonsie and Judson Clarke could improve significantly. Jack Ross may also have improved scoring if Cotchin retires (as is likely).

Lipinski from the Pies has the tools, missed a fair bit of footy this year and should 100% improve.
Ed Allen and Jakob Ryan are rookies who have shown a fair bit too, though McRae has been reluctant to 'rest' senior players and play kids just to get games into them.
Finn Macrae if he moves clubs too, can easily find the footy, just hasn't broken through into a pretty solid 22.

Thank you so much for your insight, @MC’s Mix. Much appreciated.💛
