Is anyone doing any live SC scores for these pre-season games?
With the limitation of 3300 points for SC, extended playing lists, players missing and varying quarter lengths for the trial matches, SC scoring will be next to useless for matches like the one today. May be of more importance later in the other preseason matches but watching for roles will be far more important for the rookies and lower priced mid priced options between now and RD0. Should not hold any significant consideration in decision making regarding premium priced options.

Best case I reckon he goes 105.

I think all he needs to average is 100 to make 100k and be well placed to turn him into a topliner around upgrade time or at his bye.

By all reports he's back on ball and is looking noticeably slimmer.
I think it is hard to ave 100 and make you 100k at his price range. And as mentioned it depends where those good scores come. Take Gulden from last year. He started 472k which is slightly higher but after 12 games (the equivalent of Ports bye this year) he was ave 102 and had made 83k. He did exceed 100k earlier in the season but that was after consecutive scores of 119, 156, 156 and 96. So yes it can happen but Wines would need to have a good run of very big scores to get over 100k and even if he could do it you have no control over when it happens.

Melbourne observations for players priced from Billings and below;

Billings - Was quite good today. Needs to do more defensively though. Likely to play round zero. However, there were several not playing today who are either mids or mid/fwds who are walk up starts in Oliver, Brayshaw and Hunter. Spargo probably gets the nod ahead of Billings too due to his defensive side of things. Will need to play well to hold his spot. Pass for me but I get the appeal.

Windsor - Like what I saw in his first competitive hit-out. Not sure he’s worth the 180k price tag playing on a wing though. Will have some quiet games. Pass at this stage.

Laurie - Saw quite a bit of the footy but was quite poor overall. Saw nothing to suggest he will be a regular in 2024. Which is disappointing after such a promising pre-season on the track. Pass.

Schache - Think he’s only there until one of Petty or Fullarton are fit. Possibly even loses his spot when McAdam returns. Pass.

Howes - Showed glimpses but looks a fair way off getting a game.

K Brown - The surprise packet of the day. Did some really good things both offensively and defensively. He’s just so small though so I think he may start in the VFL until he builds his frame. See how he goes against Carlton next week though.

Gee, based on those running Harley Reid F1, that analysis will cause some anxiety out there.:D

How did Rivers go? Any time in mids?
