Thought I would just drop my first thoughts on the whole Tassie thing in here.

Like the idea of a Tassie team (& a N.T team eventually) but...
People down there don't appear to want the stadium? fair enough.
The name Tassie Devils is nice and predicted.
The jumpers are God awful imho and that cartoon Tassie devil head doesn't do it for me either.

All in all I give the entire affair a 5 out of 10

Edit: The initial membership is great, lifted my rating a bit!

There are some who don't want the stadium full stop. But most don't understand spending 1 billion dollars for an extra 5000 seats. It appears the AFL just want a better corporate area so they can schmooze advertisers.

Tasmania has signed more members (121K) in two days than the membership of any AFL club last year (106K for Collingwood).

Be interesting to see if they all stay in 2028.

$10 cool , I just paid 250 to Stkilda aka Foxtel so I could receive their crappy coverage for a year, good on the Tassie Devils members though, hope the memberships sold equates to bums on seats when other teams travel there, and they use the membership savings to take a few short flights per season to support their Devils when they're playing abroad LOL

No chance. I reckon a good 75-80% have joined now for the feel-good, cheap, historical significance.
Come 2028 , when "proper" memberships are sold, I'm guessing they'll have 50-60,000.

Quite disturbing though, the layers of corruption in the AFL system allowing this to happen.
Makes you wonder though...if they're going to such lengths for players to not get caught with drugs in their systems, how are some still getting caught out testing positive?
I wonder how many players that were late outs with "Illness" were really ill?
