A question for Adelaide fans/watchers.

Is Burgess likely rested or is he out unless and until there is another injury?

Thanks in advance.

Wanted to go early on one of the GC boys in order to facilitate an upgrade of Grundy this week and have decided on Graham. Not enough price difference between him and Clohesy to sway the decision and with DPP at least he can provide a benefit should he turn into a bad selection. Barring a disaster I'll be getting the other of the two next week, but if I'm going to take a punt a week early at least Graham has a safety net for being useful!

Full disclosure I don't own him, but I would hold LDU. Something isn't right at the moment but if things turn, he has shown the ability to score at keeper level. He has already lost so much cash too so no point locking in the loss.. he probably doesn't drop much further so if he is still an issue at his bye maybe pull the trigger but at this point of the season I would focus on upgrading around him and not sideways trading, otherwise you fall a premium behind the competition and it's hard to get ahead of that.
Might need to lock my account. Seeing him there sickens me 😄😄

I feel that.. nothing stings worse than getting stuck with a junk premium! Reckon everyone who has done SC has found themselves in that position at least once or twice where the person is a warm body that isn't their biggest issue, but feels like their biggest issue because of sunk cost or failed expectations!

Years ago there used to be a site where you could input someone's team ID and it would tell you round by round how many trades they had used.

Does this still exist?
I remember that but tbh i hope it doesn't still exist, seems unfair to me.
I remember too serious had a function to auto populate your team onto their site to easily track your teams progress, didnt think to track other teams with it! Doh!
You had to find a tld number associated to your account. Somewhere in the web address line I think?

Is it too early to trade D'Ambrosio?

He still has money to make (BE 49) but his scores have been ordinary the past 2 weeks so if that continues it's another $25-30k over 3 weeks tops.

I recognise that people are probably trading others (Jordon, Howes) before him so his ownership remains high for this week at least, but I suspect he is next in line to be culled maybe next week or in Rd 7 (when best 18 rds are done and DPP opens up).

If you had the opportunity to trade him this week to get to a legitimate premium, would you? Or are you foregoing the chance at a genuine spike game for him to get cash gen restarted (and a change at D/M if that's of value to you).

Named back pocket v Suns at Carrara FWIW

I am tossing up between trading D'Ambrosio and McKercher in order to bring in Steele this week. At the moment I'm leaning towards flicking D'Ambrosio due to his wing role after Round 1. His being named at back pocket could be a good sign but Amon is named on the wing and he played the SC friendly half back role last week, so might not mean a lot.

I don't think it's too early to trade at all, I currently am but only as it facilitates trades. I never liked the pick and it worked out for those that started but hasn't been a great trade in. He'd be gone either next week or the week after for me anyway either due to score or DPP coming in. He could have another spike game but playing wing it's pretty hit and miss, Suns I don't think are a bad match up either so there's merit in holding.

He'll play wing, where players are named on team sheets is pretty irrelevant. Sicily was named on the wing last week.

Plus Scrimshaw ...

Plus Impey ...

Plus Sicily if he can refind that form/role ...

I think Massimo might be left out in the cold

So torn. Seeking advice if anyone has any thoughts on the below.

Option 1: Grundy, McKay and Massimo out for English, Martin and Clohesy.

Giving up a lot (and more than I'd like to) to get the biggest return. If I'm getting English, I can only afford two upgrades in the next two weeks, and I think Martin is great value so I'm happy to do both this week and just double/triple down next week with the plethora of options. I will be clearing out the deadwood either this week or next to fix cash gen also, which brings me to my next option.

Option 2: Grundy, Sexton and Lazarro to English, Clohesy and Graham.

I get to keep McKay for one more price rise and big score (vs. Adelaide) before his tough run. I get to keep Massimo. I clear deadwood now. I miss a great value option in Martin and have to go early on Graham which I don't love doing.

Option 1

Pros:
  • Get Martin while relative value
  • Moving on Massimo who I think might be done
Cons:
  • Moving on McKay who is an outside chance at a forward keeper
  • Have to keep dead wood for one more week (but in a best 18 week that's tolerable)

Option 2

Pros:
  • Clearing out dead wood
  • Keep McKay who might be a forward keeper
Cons:
  • No Martin
  • Going early on Graham which might bite you

I think option 1. McKay is a chance, but more likely to revert to a 70s average, and going early on Clohesy is tolerable because of the massive debut score and basement price, but going early on rookies (esp. def rookies) is generally fraught.

In a straight Martin v McKay decision it's easily option 1. I think you sort of recognised that yourself in typing up the question.

Or option 3? Grundy, Sexton and Lazarro to Meek, Clohesy and Martin.

Rucks vs ESS have gone:
HAW 54 (Reeves?)
SYD 99
STK 79
PTA 92

I know it's English, but with a high BE and Darcy taking some ruck work, maybe it's not time for English yet?

Marshall seems ripe, but then the comment about him feeling tired has caused doubt.

Meek, simply cos he should make money and has a history of doing well rucking alone. Good value for his price.

Hopefully that gives you cash to get Martin, one who could score as well as English, and a season keeper too.
Graham can then be grabbed next week, so you won't miss out on his potential cash.
But some number crunching tells me you don't have enough cash to do that, so back to the McKay / Massimo problem.

McKay's last 3 vs ADE have been 59, 46, 65, and his best in 8 has been 91. With a BE of 70, odds aren't good for cash gen.

Massimo with a BE of 49, should be the better bet for cash gen, but his scores have been declining.

Hope I've added to the confusion. My job here is done. :p
