natural progression would suggest he'll be a solid pick for the year. essentially 105 last year and good shot at 110+.

if it's only because of price then Petracca and Walsh are both under $600k soon too. Others in LDU and Dawson are also cheap if they can bounce back

EDIT: Anderson scores 70s and 80s quite often for a premo, so he may drop in price below this at some point
Petracca's a fair chance to make his b/e against the Tiges next week.

Going in circles trying to work out best Premo upgrade option. Looking at projections, both Matt Rowell and Luke Ryan may still be relatively affordable at current price with both potentially becoming M1 and D1 respectively - Ryan has only gone up $40k but averaging 135 for the season so far!. I can get Rowell at his current price, but would need to trade out Massimo to get Ryan.
I would suggest almost completely ignoring SC Gold projections.

Their main use in my mind is in helping identify players who may have a strong history against a particular opponent or at a particular ground.

Marshall plays two more games than him between this round and round 14.

The 90k made from the trade allows Daicos to be added to my team this week.

Hopefully Marshall can score similarly to Gawn in the rounds they both play.

Marshall/English to Gawn likely to occur come round 15.

Wasn’t anticipating Marshall to score 51 on debut.
Fair enough. I just think there are better ways to make 90k upgrade cash though, such as a bench rookie downgrade than trading Top3 assets out/in. I like Marshall but he's a 115 ave guy for mine and would not be surprised if Gawn goes 130 this year.

Yeah, it’s a risky move no doubt. I just didn’t have any other suitable avenues for the 90k.

See how it plays out from here!

FWIW I think it was a bold but well thought out strategy. If Marshall goes 120 last night you're looking like a genius. He has a down game and the jury is out.. lots to play out between now and the end of the byes, but full respect for seeing something outside the norm and rolling the dice on something you clearly put some good thought in to.

I’m hoping holding Grundy for a few more is the play. A nice spike to bridge the gap to Marshall would really put the icing on the cake.
Would be ideal. Guess if Marshall has an average game next week it could be quite possible to swap the two for potentially no cost by rd9.

2021 he was averaging 140 at this time of year (Rd6) but ended up with a 120 avg.

It's the typical swingshot strategy that someone here ;) used in previous seasons to trade a certain Travis Cloke out at full price and got in 2 other premos.
It was a calculated risk and if Marshall had scored a ton, BB's move would have been a stroke of genius!
Nobody would have guessed Marshall would stink it up

I don't mind it, after all it's only a 1 trade cost and can't be looked at in isolation because of the Daicos aspect and possibly not trading out a still mooing rookie.

I'm seriously looking at doing the same with Heeney in round 8/9

Trade him to to who?

Asking because I'll get that guy today

There's going to be a plethora of options come rounds 8/9, the ideal scenario would be Clarry at $450k (doesn't have to be him) which could release $250k

I've budgeted trades for 3 luxury upgrades that I'd planned to do over the byes which would cost 5-6 trades, namely, Grundy, Drew and Crouch. That $250k would upgrade each of those players for 3 trades which would save me possibly 3 trades as well as generating (I would hope) significantly more points on ground.

The biggest bonus however is that I wouldn't have to use my current crop of rookies to fund those upgrades, meaning I can use them to fund the other 6 upgrades that I'll need to do which are 4 MP's and 2 rookies. After next weeks trades I'll have added 5 new rookies to replenish the stocks along with the other 4 that are still mooing combined with the MP's who could still add quite a few $ those being Bowes, Massimo, Williams and Comben.

I also have an issue with round 12 where 6 premos are missing, trading out Heeney and upgrading Grundy reduce that to 4 which I'm more comfortable with.

As of this week it looks ok, but like everything in this game things will change, still it's something that I'm pretty happy to play around with.

advice please. traded Sanders to Walsh and have flipped him now to Flanders as thinking he is must have forward and likely to increase in price next week still. Who do you think I should prioritise? Is there someone else you think I need under $620k (can take someone on any line using DPP)? team below with sanders in it for now 1713503645354.png

Nice team. Flanders seems good.
