Have the cash to go Sexton > Bolton but would need to do it this week with Bolton’s low BE … tempting. I am fine for round 15 bye players but don’t want waste a trade (Sexton keeping his role for example)
Could just wait on Sexton as his b/e is solid, see what happens, keep if going well possibly F6 or trade to Rankine or anybody who has had the bye if dropped or pushed forward. Not sure Bolton is that good in a bad team more a cherry on top type when team is flying.

Best sub 560k defender? Have Ryan, Daicos, Sheezel, NWM, Dale and need a 6th slot. Hesitant for Houston this week with his current BE (could still wait). Need to get off Comben more than anything.
Jack Sinclair 😉
Agree Sinclair is perfect fit, amazingly in only 5% of teams. Have you all considered Ridley slightly over at $563,900. Great scores since he came back. 127 ave.
Bye this week though.

Depends on the situation. If no rookies on field and planning a few luxury trades at some point. Now on a bye is the perfect time.

Looking to sideways one of Martin, Stewart or Oliver, just not sure who yet.

Option
Moyle to Dowling
Oliver to Serong/Dunkley

Extra two this week plus pretty confident Serong/Dunkley will score more than Oliver. But no guarantees of course .
Just noticed Oliver has Roos and WCE in the next three games and rest of draw looks okay. Back to the drawing board.

Miller is testing my patience... it was him or Oliver gone but both may be rage traded out.
I’m doing both into Neale & Gulden. I’ve had a gut-full watching them play mediocre football.

Touk is well behind Anderson Flanders & Rowell. A couple of inflated kissed on the lips scores not enough to save him. Oliver’s just not the same and I can’t see him snapping out of this SC void he’s in.

Sideways trading does feel great but you could just end up compounding the issue. Can be paying anywhere from $45k up to $95k on top of the trade cost to fix that player. They may also hit bad form and drop down to where the premium you trade out was already at. Roles are basically the same throughout each stretch of games. It is still a long way out to get a big advantage on that trade and may be better suited to having a shorter stab over the last three or four rounds based on fixtures/niggles.

Averages of their first five, next five and last few:

Dawson 82, next 127.6 and last three 110.
Merrett 126.8, next 110.4 and last three 113.6.
Gulden 107.4, next 96.4 and last three 123.3
Neale 116.8, next 118 and only one extra game of 134
Walsh 122 and his next four 99.25
Serong 128, next 132.4 and last two 96.5
Butters 127.8, next 121.4 and last two 105.5
Warner 102.4, next 117.4 and last two 121
Treloar 105.4, next 129.8 and last three 108.6
LDU 93.6, next 112.8 and last two 115.5
Dunkley 110.8, next 117 and last two 101.5
Miller 118, next 109.8 and last three 87
Bont 117.2, next 119.4 and last three 140
Steele 130, next 94.8 and last three 105.6
Rowell 131, next 107.6 and last three 95.7

5 Rd averages with season average
Neale 130.6 (118.9)
Bont 129.6 (123.3)
Treloar 124.6 (115.5)
Warner 122.6 (111.9)
Butters 121.8 (121.4)
Serong 119.6 (124.6)
Day 118.4 (102.4)
LDU 116.4 (105.3)
Dawson 115.8 (105.9)
Dunkley 114.0 (111.8)
Gulden 111.6 (108.9)
Merrett 107.2 (117.2)
Steele 105 (110.8)
Walsh 103.2 (111.9)
Rowell 99.6 (113.8)
Miller 96 (107.7)

Change of plan. Hopefully Clarry can lift a bit with Trac out so I'll hold and pass on Gulden.

Time to finally get Luke Ryan which was my plan for this round at the start of last round.

OUT: Stewart, Wilson, Clohesy
IN: Ryan, Kreuger, Rookie

Next week complete the team with;

OUT: Sexton, Moyle, Sullivan
IN: Merrett, Zorko, Hutchinson or any other named rookie
Are you at all worried about paying 666k for a defender and whether or not he can maintain his average roughly over the rest of the year?
It just seems so much when a host of others like, Sinclair, Clarke, Holmes, Richards, Crisp, Ridley are about 100k cheaper and could score in that 100-105 range, maybe if you pick the right one a 110?

Ryan really needs to throw out a few more behemoth 150+'s to maintain his current average doesn't he?

Not questioning the pick at all, more so the value.

Any interest in these more affordable premos?:
Ed Richards:
maybe after his bye, maybe before.
Will Day: another R15 bye player, in superb form, Hawks on the improve.
Jake Waterman: other than the Adelaide game, been very good, top 6 forward.

All three look like having good draws ahead.
I am thinking about Day. Would be a super POD at like 1-2%. Sucks his bye is coming up though.

Trouble with Rozee without the dpp can only really cover the 8 mids. I like the Rozee as an in but just not as effective as a m/f which with a few links can cover every position.
That's the problem I (and many) will be having up forward.
Besides Heeney, Zorko, & Flanders who is there as a good high ceiling dpp mid/fwd swing?
I don't think there is anyone good enough. Better to look at a Curnow/Moore type that can be brought on field and swing a Henney ect to loop a dud mid premo like Green/Oliver/Rowell ect imo.

EDIT: I actually think Harley Reid is one of the best candidates for this (whom I traded ). High ceiling, good price 450k, dpp (y)

Id rather just get Rozee at M9 and have a trade in the bank if a forward premo goes down, theres no cheap forward/mid you're going to want to field for multiple weeks so whats the point? Bolton is scoring like a rookie and is the only real option.

Dont think you want to go deep in the year relying on a kid in a poor side either, as good as Reid has been at his best, 7 games under 80 already and 4 in his last 5 games is hardly someone you can rely on on field for multiple weeks if required.

We were spoilt with the likes of Himmelberg and Sheezel last year and it was hugely beneficial but the options just dont feel like they are actually worth it this season.

A couple of thoughts that would be good to get some opinions on:

1. Is anyone ditching Green / Walsh / Rowell? All three seem to be struggling for consistency and bleeding cash, especially Green. I hate sideways trading, but given Walsh and Rowell are on their bye this week, is it wise to trade to someone like Gulden, Dunkley, or LDU (or even Neale at his elevated price)?

2. Salem - I chickened out of trading him in the last two weeks, but he's still only $437k with a 3-round average of 107.7...is this sustainable, and does Salem benefit from Petracca being out? Or is it Viney, Clarry and Neal-Bullen who will pick up the slack?
I bought him. M8 atm with a view to loop D7 after Rozee. Didn't watch the last few matches but his early season work looked a little hack kick forward. I wasn't expecting 107 results at all. Very different proposition at the current price given I had him pegged at $500k. I'd argue Simpkin is a better risk reward this week.
