o_O In what world is Jack Graham worth $900k/year????!!!!

A 3rd or 4th string Mid/Fwd from a poor performing team, with 14 games in the past season at pretty poor to average stats!

Not sure WC have done themselves any favours there.

Richmond and Graham however are looking like this! ,🎉🚬🤑🙏🤸🧑‍🎄
The world where you can get both him and baker without giving up a draft pick. This is a hypothetical, not an actual rumour. However that would really show how broken the compo system is.

Still doesn't justify over paying a poor teams 4th stringer!

Tell that to geelong and Bowes last year. Baker is being spoken about for a first rounder, it's the same deal really, pay cash to get your first rounder back.

I think it's a stupid deal that manipulates the system, with both teams being happy (WC arent exactly salary cap full) but that it is possible shows the system is broken.

What a shambles the draft system is. If the WC suggestion comes true then you are paying up for a player that is probably worth $900k over the total 5 year contract. There should be no compo picks for any players with perhaps the only exception being rookies that have been developed for 3 years. In that case all of the work the club has done developing the player goes down the toilet so may some form of compensation may be considered given the new club gets a ready to go player.

Depends on the picks, I'd say he's well worth picks 29 and 30, which are gonna be "first round" once FA and bidding is over.
Had to know what will happen with all the horse trading that gets done around picks but as I understand it these compensation picks and assistance pick likely come at the end of the first round and before the start of the second round. In any event the Dockers have picks 9, 10 and 16 and he certainly isn't worth two of them. They also have pick 27 which as you note could blow out multiple spots so maybe pick 16 and the pick 27 (wherever that lands).

Not much has happened all week in trade week. It's the same every year.

Hawks giving up their first round pick to Carlton for a future first and second today is kind of interesting, might help get a few other trades over the line... on Wednesday.

Possibly doesn't help the Hawks getting Barrass though.

Yes it appears the Barrass deal is probably dead, at least in what was it's original form and he stays at West Coast. If that happens I would be a bit annoyed at the Hawks if I was Barrass but I suppose that is life.

Tigers seem obsessed with two solid first round picks (10 and 11) for Bolton. Be interesting to see what happens there. I am guessing they won't pay that. A first and a second is probably the go. I mean Brisbane got Neale for one first rounder, Cameron the same and Dunkley one first rounder and two second round picks spread over future drafts. Dunkley and Neale are infinitely better players than Bolton so not sure two first rounders flys.

I don’t see the hype for Barrass. Don’t think he really adds much to the Hawks way of playing. Would be better off securing a younger player and building them up in their system/way of playing that’s been successful.

As for Bolton, the only people who think he is worth two first rounders are Richmond supporters. Says a lot.

I think the trade period being so long must be to get people to agree to ridiculous trades. Like this one:

Essendon did pretty well out of that one. Across the two years, they gain 2 second rounders, a third rounder and a fourth rounder, with the first round pick traded out probably ending up much the same next year based on how the Demons went this year. Dees must really rate this year's draftees I guess.

Nothing interesting is going to happen until Wednesday.

Nothing interesting is going to happen at all. ;)

We need one year for it all to be a :poop: show for the AFL to wake up.
