Rd 1 Team ($22,400 in cash):

Not the best start, but it went about as well as I expected - 1025.

@Diabolical mentioned early in the pre-season (https://supercoachscores.com/threads/bbl-14-preseason-discussion-open.5387/page-15#post-1142851) that he was interested to see a team that would manage the maximum amount of DGR's this year (54). Figured I may as well give that a crack after originally not planning on entering a team at all. I was on track to achieve this early, but Allen injuring himself before the DGR's wasn't part of my plan. A rookie error of not realising Webster will most likely get recalled to the test team as well before Rd 3 means I've settled on just aiming for 50+ now if possible. I can still get 52 theoretically if I can pick Adelaide players that play all four matches across Rds 2 and 4, but that's a bit unlikely, especially with most of my trade outs losing cash. I had planned for 9/11/9/11 DGR's across the first four rounds if everything went right, trying to minimise the amount of Stars in my team as much as possible, and saving any boosts for the later DGR rounds, but that'll likely change a bit now. Some of my players will probably get dropped at some point too, hopefully not on their DGR rounds though.

Not being able to start any donut players and having to pick players I think will actually play all DGR matches makes things very tight for cash. I never rated Zampa for example, but he was one of the cheaper ones I was confident would be playing. Ditto Couch (who now looks like he may get dropped for Rd 3 after only bowling 1 over). Not sure I will have quite enough cash for the Strikers I need this round to keep things going (ideally 4, using a boost), Short is definitely out of my price range anyway, but seeing I've started on this strategy, may as well stick with it as much as I can.

Technically some of these scores won't count (such as Couch being my 12th best on field last round), will be interesting to see how many don't count by the end of the season - I'm predicting most rounds there will be SGR scores in my team that will beat my lowest DGR score.

Well done to all those who had a fast start. Hoping to claw back some ground on you this round, but I probably won't.

Finding these two ‘Gades very hard to split.

Which one to trade and which one to hold out of O’Neill and Rogers?
This will sound harsh, but you need to do something to split them!

O'Neill scored 11 in game 1, and scored 89 of his 114 in one over today. Take that out, and his Round looks pretty poor!

Huge, well done!!

I’d say you want to hold those guys by default, especially as they have another double in round 4.

My advice would be to figure out who your preferred ins are (Strikers, Scorchers and anyone with standout roles and/or breakevens would be my suggestion), and focus on that first.

Then see who you have to trade to get them.

After you’ve done that you can assess if you’d rather compromise your ins to improve your outs (ie retain players you want to hang onto).
Thanks mate & thank you for the advice as well!

My original plan was:
Out: Seifert, Sutherland, Rogers and/or O’Neill
In: Behrendorff, Richardson, Inglis and/or Allen (both)

I’m now leaning towards:
Seifert > Inglis - Seifert’s been Uber impressive but making 30K and bringing in Inglis who has a DGR but also has the hurricanes first up who he could feast on with the gloves and bat
Webster > Behrendorff - Webster looked much better in the second game but his high breakeven is reason enough for me to turf him & who better to bring in than the Dorff!!!
Rodgers > Richardson - Ideally I’d be moving on O’Neill here but in order to bring in the three players I want, Rodgers has to be the man to make way. O’Neill’s got the slightly better breakeven as well which makes the decision a little easier. IMG_4393.png

Given the news floating around from honeyball etc, it seems unlikely that Inglis will be available for the 2nd game of their double (due to his likely inclusion in the squad for the 4th test). I’m sure this thread will keep us up to date with any news that comes out today and tomorrow, but something to be aware of

Worth having 2 nuff? Only started with one (Scott) but he’s got the first game so no way to access the VC loop

Does anyone have any mail on Joel Davies? He seemed to have a pretty good role batting at 6 and bowling 4 overs, but my gut feel is he is likely to be impacting by Hosein coming in, although with Murphy only bowling 2 is he the one in danger? At $65k he could be a bargain for their double next round but not if his role is questionable..

He would have been at 7 if Hughes batted. They may bring in Patterson and then have Hosein to either bat ahead or just behind that should definitely bowl 4.
