Hi Rowsus,
As always thanks for the good read and the useful insights.
I'm in the rare spot of being ranked in the top 1000 and was wondering who you would trade for vdb this week if you were me.
I'm leaning toward ziebell for some reason as I have a feeling that he may have turned a corner with confidence and could continue to score well. If you take out his 4 in round 3 he has averaged 103 this season. At $430,000 I think he is fairly good value.
I was thinking rocky next week for ??
Cheers in advance.
Hope my team link is up when I post.
Mark
Hi Kafka,
I'm not a Ziebell fan, I must admit. Misses too many games, and while he has a good ceiling, he's very inconsistent. Having said that, I can't see any Fwds in that same price range that I'm really keen on, so why not try JZ? I'm guessing you can't reach Yeo with that one trade? I read something earlier that tipped the scale for me on him. In his 4 game hot streak, he has attended 56% of Centre bounces, and only Priddis has attended more for WC.

Good points as usual. Ill hold him for now and see how he goes.

Lumumba to Yeo is locked. I want to trade Oxley to someone under $452k but not sure who. Was real keen on Thurlow but now with Mackie and Kelly back in im not sure where that leaves him. Docherty is the other im leaning to. And one outside the box is Easton Wood. He is probably too risky but you know I love my PODs!

If you have any defensive options worth a punt im all ears!

Thanks mate
I'd go Docherty over Thurlow or Woods. Carlton are in full on development mode (or they should be!), and I would expect Docherty to be near the front of that queue. If you want a crazy POD, maybe Howe from Melbourne!

Hi Rowsus,

If you have time I would love your thoughts on my trade plans for this week.

Round 8
IN - Rockliff, Lever
OUT - Vandenberg, Oxley

$167,800

Can regain DPP (MID/FWD) & (DEF/MID) link, just means no loophole in defence this week, need Lever, Brown and McIntosh on field.

The following week I will look to upgrade McIntosh in defence, and possibly (depending on how he goes on the weekend) get Dale in or Salem.

Cheers Goodie
Hi Goodie,
I think it's a bad week to trade out Oxley. I know he's a danger to start losing Cash, but GC are playing like a rabble at the moment, and Oxley could go big enough to re-start his growth. There's no rush to get Rocky, so why not upgrade McIntosh this week? Or find another use for your 2nd trade, after going Vdb to Lever?

Hey Rowsus, my defence has been atrocious so far (especially having to field Brown and McKenzie last week), and I really feel I need to bolster it this week as I'm bleeding too many points back there.
This is what it currently looks like: Simpson, Hibberd, Newnes, Oxley, Saad, McIntosh (Brown, McKenzie)

I am looking at trading Brown to a premium this week and I can afford anyone except Houli.
In particular, I'm looking at Birchall, Murphy and Rance. Who do you like best out of these three?
Or is there anyone else you suggest I take a look at?

Love your work, thanks mate
Hey jmack5, you might have read my response to Braider at post #4598.
Of those 3, I'd go Birchall. Or save a bit more, and get Docherty.
You've probably read a bit about Yeo in the last day or two as well. Did you know he attended 56% of centre bounces in the last 4 weeks? That's a good indicator that he's not just "drifting" on to the ball/into the Midfield, or getting thrown there now and then. Only Priddis has been at more centre bounces than Yeo, so you really should consider him!

Hey Rowsus,

Do you think Rocky will improve his scores?
As I mentioned previously I would like to bring him in but is it a good move.
Every other Tom,**** and Harry will probably bring him in.
Or should I spend more and bring in someone else.
Surely Rocky is value for money if he can recapture some of his form.
Hey Slammer,
I can't see much upside to getting Rocky this week. He will eventually improve his scores, but he's hardly training right now, as he's too sore for two or three days after the game! Yes, his price will start to rise, but not dramatically. I think you might be surprised, and he's not traded in as much as you might think this week. Many are having 2nd thoughts. Look somewhere else this week.

Rowsus,

What about Mitchell? Sure he went up $55k last week, but he's still only $460k, and only $26k more than Ziebell.

Would you not be recommending him at this stage?

Rowsus,

Looking forward to the bye rounds I only have 3 round 13 keepers (J Selwood, T Goldstein and Nik Nat [questionable keeper])

In your opinion who should I target to get in as other Round 13 bye players?

R Gray is one but I am hoping he will drop in a low score at some time.

Thank you in advance.

Yep was leaning towards Birchall out of those three.

But now that you mention it, I was considering Yeo earlier this week, but changed my mind and decided to go with a safer option. But now that I've heard this fact and also hearing that you now approve of bringing him in, I feel like bringing him in this week could be the risk that my side needs at this point in the season.

So far, I've made pretty "safe" trades, only bringing in proven premiums (with the exception of Titchell last week) and my side is looking pretty vanilla, and I will not gain many overall spots bringing in the same players as everyone else, so maybe taking a risk and bringing in Yeo this week is what my side needs to gain some ground on the leaders.

Thanks Rowsus :)

Hi Rowsus,
Thanks for the advice. I am overseas in India at the moment and even though I tried to get afl global and watch games their just isn't enough bandwidth where I am so I haven't seen a game for 4 weeks. i.e I have listened to some games and Zieball has 'sounded' good. Is Yeo 'looking' great is he?
I actually have $235,000 in the bank so I can easily go Yeo. In fact I could go VDB to Yeo AND Hogan to Ziebell. My team then looks pretty bloody good and I have players on the bench that I should feel should be on the field. I like these trades as it then gives me various DPP's and links all lines.
I have made both these changes so you can my team.
It will be a very contemplative next 7 hours trying to decide if I should go through with these trades.
Thanks Rowsus :)

G'day Maso,
I've always got time for you, you know that! ;)
Interesting you'd consider your Fwd's complete with Cameron at F6! Are you happy with 78-80 from your F6?
I'd be strengthening your Defs. I know Sidey has that big score sitting at the front, but that's only there for one pricing cycle. He'll make a good POD, but I'm confident you'll get him cheaper, later on.
Thanks buddy , yea i wasn't clear goddard would make fwd line complete pushing J.cameron to F7 or will be used at his bye to upgrade to a ruck moving TBC to F7. But i do think Def needs some work if you were bringing in 1 Defender this week who would it be out of MJ, Yeo, Pittard, Doc and Tmac ?

TBO,
I must admit, I normally try and make my replies generic, so others reading it can apply it to their situation too. I should have mentioned in my reply that Kafka already had Mitchell, and he was the only Fwd in that price range I would consider at the moment. In my mind, I was trying to keep to JZ's price or lower, because at that time I wasn't sure how much cash Kafka had. Those that don't have Mitchell should definitely still consider him this week. He still looks well priced compared to his potential.

Rowsus, did I read that you'd changed heart re: Yeo?

I buy into leaving Rocky a week or so, so I'm looking at alternatives. I likes Beams, but Yeo will rise quicker than Beams this week.

Howdy Rowsus.

Having an appalling year. Lots of LTIs, PODs no good etc.
Anyway this week I'm thinking of Vandenberg to C Ellis and McIntosh to Yeo.
Ellis has been named on the field, not sure why no one seems to like him much.
Love to know your thoughts. Team attached.

Thanks mate.

CC,
Nth - Goldstein, Harvey. JZ's a bit up and down for mine, but is still well priced. Should outscore his price from here, so that lessens the risk. I entertained Petrie this week. He's drifting down back, particularly in the 2nd half, and taking those SC Gold intercept contested marks. But with Brown out, he might get anchored in the Fwd line again, so I decided against him.
GWS - Ward, Mumford, Shaw. Treloar and Shiel are there abouts, Shiel probably closer than Treloar. Greene has a history of starting the season slowish, and improving his scoring as the season continues. Well priced, particularly if he can repeat his scores of late 2014.
PTA - Gray. Wines is a chance to come on. Ryder still might make an ok F6, if you wanted a F/R Ruck cover. Westhoff has dropped off my maybe list, as I think he's not getting Fwd enough, due to the inclusion of Ryder. Wingard has me a bit interested. He's played a fair bit on the ball since Polec went out, and scored ok. I'm just worried that Wines being back pushes him back to the pocket for most of the game again.
WCE - Priddis. McG some chance to bounce back, but he'd really be helped out if another tall Def joined the party. Maybe if Barrass starts getting a game. Yeo - you wouldn't think about him, unless he had the Def tag, but he does, so you should.
Geel - Selwood can bounce back. SJ is high risk, but might improve with Duncan out, his risk is reduced by his bargain price. Enright and Taylor seem overpriced for what they'll give you, but still could perform well. Motlop is still a chance to score at a F6 level. I'm not sure about Thurlow, but he too looks well priced.
Melb - can TMac keep going? History says no, but there might have been some sort of Def change at CD we haven't been told about!

Hi Kafka, happy to help, Hi jaca,
Yeo's last 4 games really smacked of flavour of the month type scoring to me, at first glance. I was of the opinion he was on a bit of a hot streak, and things would turn around again. Even though I had watched most of the Eagles games, I wasn't convinced that he wasn't doing more than just getting lose from his opponent too often, and that sort of play is soon picked up and stopped by opposition Coaches in the following weeks. Then I read on Fantasy Freako that Yeo had attended 56% of centre bounces in the last 4 weeks, something I hadn't noticed while watching the games. This tells me it is more than a back flanker getting lose, he is probably number 2 in WC's on ball rotation in that time. He is priced at around 88-90, and even forgetting his monster last week, where GC looked more like a VFL team, he has scored at 98/game in his other 3 on ball games. I can't see why he can't continue to score in the 90's to high 90's given his role shift, and this season anything consistently in the mid to high 90's should be good enough for our teams. He's an outside chance, if the role continues, to push it into the 100/game area.
jaca, given Yeo's B/E of 27, and Beams' B/E of 88, Yeo should definitely increase in price more in the next 2 weeks than Beams.

I should have noticed Goddard was pushing Cameron to F7. Another reason to do Defs this week. It's too early to have that much money on your bench. TMac is priced at 106-108, and I'm just not convinced he can continue to return those numbers. MJ's consistent, but is unlikely to give you more than low 90's, but given he's priced at 88, that's ok. Pittard has looked really good in some games, and pretty woeful in others, I would think I'd go elsewhere for now. I think Docherty might just edge MJ out point-wise, but out of those 5, given the info we have, I would go Yeo.

Howdy Juzzo,
We're not to keen on Ellis, because we are worried about his JS, and he has only scored 38 and 57 on a price of $167k. If he keeps scoring like that, he will only grow about $100k, and not give us useable scores. Seems like a waste of a trade. He could improve, but at his price, you'd want him to be a 65-70 player minimum to justify the trade.
Lever is cheaper, and scoring higher. Geary looks like losing more money than McIntosh this week. I'd go Geary to Lever, then decide if Vdb becomes Yeo or Mitchell.
Good luck :)

Hey Row, cull Tarrant or Miller early(for upgrade and only need one on field)
Hey SC_23,
If I had to cut one this week, I'd cut Tarrant. He has a slightly higher B/E than Miller, and I thought he was very lucky to score 78 last week. I watched the game, and thought he was a 50.

Thinking maybe instead of Oxley this week that I might be better off trading Brown, Oxley more likely to outscore Brown than the other way around, and even if he doesn't make his BE would most likely not drop a huge amount anyway. Then I could upgrade him next week.
