Almost certain this has been answered somewhere previously but can someone please confirm deny this.

If I play Jacobs, Goldstein & Gawn as my R1, R2, R3 - do I get all 3 of there scores contributing towards my total 18 or just R1 & R2.

Just R1 or R2. Only on field players count towards your 18 - A substitute score can only be included in the 18 if an on field player does not play as it does in any normal round

Been less change than expected.
Rucks that not very good to hit outs to advantage lose out. Those where it is a strength tend to gain.
Well done Champion Data.
Rating rucks in better format.

Goldstein and Nick Nat have averaged over 7 more this season.
Martin about 4 less.
Jacobs about 15 less and Sandilands 14 less
Brodie Grundy averaging over 30 more which can be put down a lot to development.
Lobbe 21 less for Port is alarming for SC coaches that invested in him. Lycett and Ryder also lose out for SC coaches. Hale and Sinclair the more interesting FWD/RUC options lately.
Blicavs in terms of rucking is really a midfielder so his increase put down to just being a genuine improving mid that pinch hits in ruck at times.
The most interesting fall from grace is Minson.
Jordan Roughead I noticed rucking more than Minson most of night and at one stage Minson down in backline getting wound up by Zorko making fun of him.

So far this has not been the year to invest in ruck insurance.
Only Mumford has gone down as a popular ruck and he was always buyer beware as it is normal for him to get injured at some stage. If you paid for Ryder, Lycett or Bellchambers as ruck insurance from the start you will not be happy if a Mummy owner. However it should be said Hale right now would be handy for such owners if they got him and had Mummy. Hale did not start the season though for Hawks so a trade would be needed to get in. I think Hannath is FWD/RUC too maybe and played a few games here and there. Sinclair taken Cox role at Eagles this year. If you invested in Lycett from start you caught the wrong bus.

Why did you pull the weekly Zim?

Here's an interesting factoid, played AFL Fantasy for the first time this year, just looking at the weekly rankings, (and i know we've talked about doing this on here a few times before) the team that won this week has only played for one week, so they obviously targeted this round to start a new team to try and take out the weekly, obviously a good week to do it with so many regular premo's out!

Interesting comparison, Oz.

I started with Lycett, and thought "Stuff it, I've got Mummy, so I will keep Lycett, and hopefully he's back in by Round 8."
As you suggested, I was sure it was a case of "when" not "if" for Mummy, so I thought I'd roll the dice and hold Lycett as a loophole tool at F8, hoping he was back before Mummy hit that inevitable wall.
The swap of Lycett to Gawn was an easy call for me to make last week, as I was sure he would score well against St Kilda and Longer. If I didn't have Lycett sitting at F8, I wouldn't have gotten Gawn, so in that sense, I was lucky I not only started Lycett, but decided to keep him. I'm probably behind on the deal so far, having $300+k sitting on the bench for so long, but hopefully I will reap the rewards now, and I have decent cover for Goldy or Blicavs, if they go down. Having, and keeping, Lycett has ended up with me having (quite coincidentally!) the top 3* averaging Rucks for the season in my team.

*disclaimer - I don't think they'll end up the top 3 averaging Rucks!

Gawn is proving to be a sensational pick up. I knew he was Dees project ruck but two monster scores pretty impressive. I think his days of just being a project are gone.....
Sorry...lol..

Well done on your Dees winning Rowsus. I not seen any of game but Viney and Brayshaw impressive too I heard.
Good to see the slow burn with Brayshaw has paid off for you. Hogan had a rest and still won, in Geelong off all places. Stunning!

I know Cripps is good but do not underestimate Gus Brayshaw too.
We got some good ones this year.
Hogan, Cripps and Brayshaw all going to be genuine guns for a long time.
Early days I know but they are all very comfortable at AFL so early.
Also please do not forget how few games Jeremy McGovern has played.
Saw his very first game v my Blues last year live at Docklands and he looked something special then even in just a few minutes saw him play.
Not sure if McGovern eligible for Rising Star Award.
Anyone know ?
I hope Cripps wins it because I am a Carlton supporter but I think they are all great new youngsters to the league.
Best batch for some time.

The next few trades hold the key to the success or otherwise of my SC season.

Since being coerced into playing SC two years ago, I've always adopted a strategy of building my team around the MBRs with a view of climbing the rankings during this period. That strategy have served me well in the last two years being able to half my rankings during that period, this year I entered round 11 with a ranking of 8,805 and now sits at 3,590 so that same strategy is paying off again this year.

However, in the past two years, I've used up too many reactional trades leading up to the MBRs and have exited these rounds with very limited trades so cannot build on the momentum I gained for my team during the MBRs and inevitability, injuries struck my team and left it to limb agonisingly to the finishing line.

This year, I believe my team is in much better shape despite the injuries which I have endured so far. The team is building nicely through the MBRs and if I manage to execute on the trading plan I have in place over the ensuing rounds, my completed team will be quite an achievement considering the circumstances with lots of DPP bench coverage. Most importantly, I'll have a couple of trades up my sleeve to take to the finals which will be a first for me.

Just need a couple of rookie selections to go my way this week so I can again scrape through the last of the MBRs and am looking forward to bringing my team to completion.

I gave myself one 'golden' rule for this year and that was to have a desirable structure which I want to finish my team with and select the players to fit that structure, I'm happy to report that so far I've stayed true to that rule. Already have a 'golden' rule for next year, do your research and back in your judgement on certain players and don't read too much into the inevitable hype on must haves prior to the start of the season.

Think you will find the above comparison, compares the three on their first seasons stats. Hence it is Selwoods first year listed above. Due to Cripps breaking his leg, it is his second AFL listed season, but first AFL playing season.

Supposed to compare Cripps' season with the Rising Star seasons of Hannebery (2nd season) and Selwood (1st season). This is fine for considering Cripps' chances for winning the award but is misleading if you are comparing Cripps and Selwood at the same stage of their career.

Selwood was 10th (min 10 games) for ave disposals in 2008, while Cripps is 53rd (min 6 games) this season.

Above is all fine and good but remember, selwood come into a dominate team in his first few seasons and we all know how Carlton are going. (Far from that) on a side note (cripps) in there 2 wins this year he av 150+ sc points and 170+ in NZ and 130+ in aus :)

Looks like the countdown clock to rolling lockout is on the fritz, currently and 1 day 14 hours when it should probably be 10 hours less than that.

Has anyone looped players on a particular line so far in the MBRs? Having a read through the rules, seems like emergencies work as per normal if you have a 0 on the field and the E on a scoring player.

I looped in my Midfield in Rnd 11. It worked fine.

You certainly can't count this as Cripps' first season. It doesn't matter that he only played 3 games last season, he still played.
The other thing that will count against Cripps this season, is his K:H ratio. It won't stop him winning it, but it won't help him either.
Selwood 2008 K:H 1:1.14, Cripps 2015 K:H 1:2.33

Cripps is averaging less than 7 kicks per game, I wonder how many Rising Star Winners, that played mainly Midfield, have averaged less?
