A big THANK YOU for all those who have taken the time to share a little more details about themselves. There's certainly one common reason why we frequent this wonderful website, that is, to share our passion in all things SuperCoach and hopefully enhance our enjoyment of playing this great fantasy game.

For all those that have resisted so far, don't be shy to follow the examples set by our members so far.

Hi all

Share personal info on the web? Wow, that's scary for me but here goes. My team is Cattleherders which is a sort of pun on my name which means "keeper of the highland cattle".
I am 58 married with no kids but we have two rescue dogs which are very cute and the girls can't resist them. If there are any single guys out there who are having trouble meeting girls then we are happy to loan them to you for several hours. That should be enough time for them to do their work. I wish I knew this trick 30 years ago. E&Ev3.jpg

My footy career was uneventful, but being skinny and fast I used to hang out on the wing. I loved basketball and played it into my mid-30's after which I took up tennis and still play competition.

In 2012 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, followed by surgery which was straightforward and 6 months of chemotherapy which wasn't fun at all. I still have some side effects from the drugs, but so far all has been well and I am back at full time work and getting on with life. My strength has returned and this Thursday is a milestone when I play my first round of competition tennis in 4 years. Life for me now is bonus time and so I am making the most of everything. The cancer was picked up in a routine test, so I can only encourage you to have an annual check up with the doctor.

I am looking forward to the season. If anyone has tips on how to be efficient with your time on supercoach so I don't sit down for 10 minutes and then find it is nearly midnight, then I would like to hear them.

cheers. Peter

Thanks for sharing a little more of yourself Peter. Your story will truly be an inspiration to all that are experiencing hardship in their life. It's testimony that you can overcome anything and that there's always light at the end of the tunnel if you accept the lot handed to you and persevere.

As to tips on how to minimise time spent on SuperCoach, all I have to say is that you have to devote time to the things you love. Just makes sure that you allocate the required time for your wife and two rescue dogs and you'll enjoy the best of both passions.

All the best to you for SC 2016 and hope that you'll continue from strength to strength in your path to full recovery.

I'm Luke, 32 years old, live in southern Tasmania. Tassie is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Great to have a few north games down this way now though.

Work in finance, married with 2 kids (5 and nearly 2).

Love my SuperCoach, probably a little too much.

Been around the top 5000 the last 3 years. Really keen to step it up a level this year.

Adelaide crows fan - shattered to lose Dangerfield but hoping we can still compete well this year.

Hi, I'm Stefan, 27 years old from Melbourne and am a die hard Hawks supporter and fantasy football player.
I have a background in engineering and law, currently working for an oil & gas company in Melbourne after doing a stint in perth for just under a year. Met my current partner at the 2013 grand final and couldn't be happier!
I am a fantasy tragic, and spend waaay too much time on it in the preseason and season.
My brother and I have been competing in cash leagues for the last 5 years now, my best achievement was probably last season coming top 1000 across all 3 formats (RDT, Fantasy, SC) and top 200 a few seasons back in SC. My brother has had slightly better achievement; he's won the weekly prize, top 4 in eliminator, top 10 in RDT, but I joke that he's washed up, as he doesn't nearly put in the same hours as me doing research and tilts hard when he gets back luck early in a season.
Probably my favourite part of Supercoach is the research aspect. I love going through news articles, training reports, bigfooty forums and SCS for tips and advice on certain players, and I read the Prospectus back-to-front before the start of each season to get an idea of which rookies have the best fantasy pedigree.
In my spare time, I play Hearthstone (Blizzard card game) pretty competitively and will be playing in the upcoming regionals which should be fun. I've also been playing futsul with mates for close to 10 years now.
I'm heading to Europe in August for 1.5 months so hopefully I'm not doing too well in supercoach, as I may have to check my team if its doing half well!
cheers, Stefan :)

Hi guys,

I'm Lachie, 33 yo who has just moved from Melbourne to Bendigo with my partner. I have a background in accounting and tax.(Love me some numbers!) Playing sports was always better for me than watching sports (tennis is my absolute favourite). However, after 2 serious recent tennis injuries, I have had to pull back as a player and enjoy the comforts of the couch and watching my sports on tv!

A tragic bombers supporter (more just tragic these days!), I've only just recently got into Supercoach as a hobby/ addiction. I started off as a casual player but my passion for it all began last year when my fantastic early trade of Heath Shaw to Brodie Smith after R1 led to the most beautiful car crash unfolding in my team. (I still remember seeing Smith's head cannon into Varcoe's knee in Rd 2 which basically summed up how the rest of my season would go).

As a result of the early catastrophe, I started doing a lot of research into Supercoach/ Champion Data and how it had all gone wrong for me. My favorite sites to visit were footywire, forums, and of course Supercoach Scores! Thankfully I managed to salvage a 45k finish after learning enough mid way through the season. (save those bloody trades for later fool!) I also started looking at prior seasons and became determined/obsessed to figure out the patterns for different positions and players.

My partner has been hugely patient with me, (mostly from me promising that I will win us the $50k to compensate!). I'm really looking forward to the upcoming season and hope to keep posting on this fantastic website.

Cheers,
Lachie

Hi everyone,

I'm Dee (short for Dimitrios) I'm 43 years, old happily married with 2 kids, girls 8 and 6. I grew in Frankston but now live in Seaford only a short walk to the beach. I have an engineering background after initially working in automotive designing seats and transmissions. Then about 8 years ago I saw the writing on the wall for the auto industry and jumped over to product design, mainly medical instruments but really it could be anything. I've helped design instruments that supposedly help to "cure cancer", soft drink machines that replace soft drink fountains, mining equipment, cochlear hearing aids, lots of stuff and because it's always changing it never gets boring.

My earliest recollection of playing fantasy AFL was back in the day when there was dreamteam comp in the Age or the Australian and you head to register your team by calling a 0055 number and the results of the weekly winners and top 50 or so were published weekly in the paper. I used to keep track of my weekly scores manually in a spreadsheet on my 286 pc (remember them, had a massive 2omb hdd) Thank god it's all on line now.

I am a long suffering Tigers supporter after as a 7yo ,deciding to follow them after the 1980 GF win. I must be a jinx. I don't often get a chance to watch games in person with a young family as I'm busy ferrying them around for their weekend sporting activities plus my wife is an ICU nurse so she does lots of shift work that makes it difficult to find the time. My brother in law was the CEO of a club so would a few times a year he would get tickets to a corporate box to watch the footy. Unfortunately he has just moved to Sydney for work. It was good while it lasted.

I find fantasy sports is a good way to keep in touch with what's happening in your favourite sport. This year I've gone back to EPL fantasy and are really enjoying it. It was over 3 million players and I'm in the top 200k.

I think I'm generally a conservative type of fantasy player and I don't research all the numbers myself. I'll search the net for those details and read what others have concluded. Which brings me to SCS. This is by far the best SC community there is and like to thank Jay personally for giving me the opportunity to be part of it.

Hi im Brett,

I'm 29 and live in South West Victoria (cudgee a little town outside Warrnambool).
I finished year 12 and went strait into an apprenticeship which has led me to this point in my life.
Formally in a Partnership with Creeeker (yep the very one form this site), now I run my own business working as a Bricklayer (so if your ever building) and employ 2 workers ATM.
We basically do New homes but do smaller jobs/patch ups as-well. (For the last 8 years out on my own this November.)

Ive been into supercoach for what would be coming up to my 5th year now (so should be hitting my prime).
Introduced by Creeker to this great game ive spent many a hours trawling this site and many others in that quest for ultimate glory.

In my spare time I do not much ATM due to having just built a house with my partner of 12 years this may.

In the past I've been quite into my Motorsport competing in Formula 500's (see pf pic) Finishing as best ranked as 10th in Australia.
Before that was Go-Karts where i was 5th in Australia. And am also pretty keen on getting back into it at some stage if the missus will let me.

I played footy as a junior making it to GF's in U14's and U17's and loosing both:( and also a state schoolboys GF (in which Jordan Lewis was a member of the same team) which we also lost:(
But as the saying goes i was cut down in my prime with a knee inj that was to end my football career at the end of my junior playing days so never went on to the senior side (Allansford)

Im not really into the whole drinking scene due to funnelling my money into my speedway career and then into our new house. (never to late to start i suppose)

Hope this sheds a little more light on myself and i look forward to reading a bit more about other members.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention Cmon the Pies

I have finished as high as around the 170th mark before, and am generally in the top 10,000
Hope I am welcomed around here, and hope to have some great FREINDLY rivalries with some of you guys..

Welcome to SCS Dazzler, great to have you on board.

You've certainly come to the right place if you're after some great 'friendly' banter, not to mention the 'fierce' rivalries amongst our members! :D

Hello all, my name is Damon and I'm 18 (probably a tad surprising for some whom joined the site when it first started, if I'm not mistaken I was in the first ever supercoach scores league). Felt necessary to post something about myself considering I've been on the forum for multiple years and never really posted frequently, more of a lurker on the forum I suppose haha.

Anyway, I'm about to begin my 2nd year of a Bachelor of Criminology at Deakin University, in which I hope to use to pursue some form of career in the police force etc. I am from the south east of Melbourne and have played footy for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately (hopefully one day fortunately) I inherited my dads passion for The Mighty Saints, which has brought no grand finals yet but I am hopeful. I have played supercoach for a while now, so I should be hitting my so called stride and be walking away with some serious money shortly, or at least I hope haha :)

Best of luck to everyone with the upcoming season!!

Hi all. I'm Elton 42yo and I live in Brisbane.

I grew up in Melbourne and moved to Brisbane some 30 years ago. In saying that I have still been unable to make sense of rugby league as a sport, even after all this time ;) I've supported the Swans since birth, as South Melbourne and through the move to Sydney, even while the rest of my family have jumped ship to the Brisbane Lions.

I'm married, 10 years now, and have 4yo and 2yo daughters who have taken away a lot of my Supercoach research time. I don't begrudge them that at all.

I love reading books, mostly high fantasy but having young ones I have no time for doing actual reading at the moment.

Work-wise I'm a web developer and IT manager with some 20 years experience and at heart a bit of a maths nerd. For that reason I love Supercoach, and Rowsus' work!, as it keeps my brain working.

Hi all,
Have only recently come across this thread and have enjoyed reading a bit about the different forum members so thought i would share my story.
I am 33 years old and live in Launceston, Tasmania. I currently work in the General Insurance industry as a Sales Person. I have been in this industry for almost 14 years and really don't enjoy it at all (I hope my boss isnt reading this haha) but it pays reasonable and I have a job so I will stick with it until another opportunity presents itself.
I was married in 2006 which only lasted about 18 months. In some respects it was a good result as if the split never happened I would never have met my current partner, who I have been with for around 4 years. We have a young son together (who is almost 2) and she is currently 35 weeks pregnant with out second child. Exciting times! We have also just this week booked our wedding for September 2017 in Vanuatu. Its all happening!
I have been playing fantasy footy since those days (that a few on here have mentioned) when you had to cut the coupon out of The Age and post it in and ring up to do your trades. I have kept results on Supercoach since 2008 so have been playing the electronic version since then, except for 2013 when I didnt play due to being overseas.
I have been on this site since the early days (March 2012) and have seen a HUGE improvement in my ranking over that time. I attribute this to a couple of things; 1) taking more of an interest in the game and the scoring system; 2) spending A LOT more time on research; and 3) the many contributions by everyone on this site that I read on a daily basis which helps shape my strategies on a daily/weekly/yearly basis. I would like to personally thank EVERYONE for all the time they put in this site, with a special mention to the moderators and in particular Jay for the great content on here.
Other than Fantasy Football I also take part in various tipping competitions from year to year (I won Collingwood's tipping in 2014 which got me return flights to Dubai and 2 tickets to the Grand Final) and I also have a keen interest in the Brownlow. I also enjoy NBA and am a part of a couple of fantasy Basketball leagues as a result. I have also written a few articles for DT Talk, mostly to do with NBA Moneyball, and have appeared on their AFL Fantasy podcast a couple of times.
Apart from at school my sporting career was made up of a few seasons of social basketball. I used to do a bit of running in my spare time but now the only running I do is running around with our son!
I am really looking forward to Supercoach in 2016 and wish everyone all the best and hope you all have your best season yet.

Hi, I'm Debbie (frostylane), married to Stephen247 for 22 years, and both support Melbourne. We live in Narre Warren and have two beautiful daughters 20 and 18. I run my own craft business and go to the Mornington, Red Hill, Flemington and Yarra Glen Racecourse markets from Oct - Dec.

I don't post much on the site because I actually know nothing about footy, rules or players positions. BUT I love supercoach, especially trading (which I never have enough trades and always run out by the last few rounds) and basically pick my team from the previous years stats and NAB cup. My first and worst year was 2009 where I finished 84,000 overall my best year was 2011 where I finished 57 overall.

Supercoach has also made watching all football more enjoyable as I can also now watch any match and know almost every footballers name, where 6 years ago I could have only named a handful. My aim this year is to try and make the top 1000.
